As a daughter to an aging parent, I think I understand Ridge's concern. There comes a time in all of our lives when we will become incapable of doing the things we once did. And it's hard to let go of that. I can imagine that it would be difficult to feel like we are no longer needed. Which is why so many people at retirement age have a difficult time in leaving their jobs. But the truth is the mindset of the older generation is not that of the younger working force that's full of ideas and innovation. Why can Eric design from home? But I guess to him, he wants to be apart of the action. I think it's away of trying to stay young in the mind.
Shame on Ridge. In about 15 years, Douglas, Kelly, and/or Hayes could be working at Forrester. How will Ridge feel if Steffy and/or Thomas try to force him (Ridge) to retire before he is ready? Do unto others...
I do agree Peggy, and can understand where Ridge is coming from after Erics health scare. It’s a catch 22 and a difficult situation without someone getting hurt. Ridge isn't intentionally trying to make Eric feel like he should be put out to pasture.
Renee I don’t think Ridge is trying to force him to retire. I do see alot of problems coming over this and potentially it gets in their way of designing. Katie wont be there if there's another PR scandal.
My neighbor was in his 90's and went to his office at the company that he owned every day. His son's ran a lot of it, but he was still in charge and had a sharp mind. The doctors told his family that it was because of his activities that his mind was so sharp. He took a fall on ice and broke his hip and retired. He didn't last a year after the fall. He was 98 years old when he died.
D - I honestly don’t even want to watch anymore. But if I start missing episodes, I think I’ll miss something potentially important. Lol. I’m delusional to think that. 😂😂😂 Total recycle on the Eric SL. And the scenes with Bill and Katie both talking so loudly / screaming about the way she’s being treated at FC was a conversation for another place! Not in the office at FC! Ridge was much too kind. And those aren’t words I typically say. And Brooke being so dismissive of Katie is completely out of character for Brooke. I honestly wish they would just cancel the show at this point.
You're not delusional Lynn, and lack of comments prove it. I've been losing interest and not really watching. I usually end up doing something else and just listen. I watched today figuring something might happen so Friday there's a cliffhanger. Ridge, Brooke, Katie and Bill are all acting way out of character. Maybe there's going to be a Bill and Katie sabotaging FC's because of the way Katie was treated. The writing lately almost seems like they're trying to get canceled, and doing a good job.
Ridge is ready to go "Eskimo," on Eric with the tradition of shoving old people on an ice floe to float out to sea and die. Ridge wants him out so badly even when the work load is too much and Eric would be a big help. Bill goes full blast on his campaign to get Katie to come back to Spencer until he gets tired of her (because his next conquest walks by,) or Brook comes up on the market again.
At first I said Eric should be thankful to be alive after being so close to dying a couple of years ago. And that he is financially able to enjoy his older years with his beautiful young wife. But after today's episode I feel a little different. If Eric is physically able to design and feels passionate about it he should be able to do that. Especially with Ridge being so busy with everything he's been doing. Ridge is not able design as much as he would like to. It seems like a perfect solution. Win win. If Katie feels unappreciated and wants to leave, then she should leave. If Bill wants to insult and criticize Ridge and Brooke he should do it at home or at his own company. Both Katie and Will should leave if they are not happy. I really wonder if Bill and Katie would even be together again if not for all the Will and Luna drama. I don't see Bill and Katie being together long-term.
Thanks Bob

Agree
DeleteLooks like once again Ridge is going to try pushing Eric out. Rinse, repeat, this show is getting too boring. At least Luna kept it exciting.
