I guess Ridge didn't hear Eric yesterday telling him he doesn't want to retire, and today he's throwing Eric a happy retirement party, as well as Brooke, Steffy, etc... WHAT AN ASSHOLE !!!!
Daphne Rose actually stood up for Eric. Then Ridge says, if it's all right with you I'm going to text my Dad and tell him to come over here. , HOW RUDE, Daphne still had a smile on her face like it didn't faze her what Ridge said to her.
I agree, what an idiot. Eric made it clear that he had no intentions of retiring. How stupid of them to make it look like a celebration when they knew exactly that's not what he wants. It's almost like they are mocking him at this point. Daphne is smart, considerate, and classy, she actually cares about other people's feelings. There is a difference between trying to convince an older person to retire and this humiliation in front of everyone.
Poor Eric! He just wants to design. Not run the company. Compromise, people! Let him sketch. It is not heavy labor & it keeps his mind active & gives Eric purpose. He can work part-time if he wants.
Poor us! The viewers have to suffer thru this story line again. It was not interesting the first time & it is frustrating to watch Eric & Ridge argue over Eric retiring yet again.
People should get to decide for themselves when they retire. If let go by a company, then that may force an employee into retirement. Since Eric founded the company, the family needs to let Eric step down in his own time & his own way. He still has talent & is determined to contribute.
I agree. Compromise. Eric should be able to come in a few days a week to design. He should not have to design at home in the living room. And he he should be a part of all the management meetings. Don't force the poor guy out to pasture like an old horse. Remember there was a time when Eric couldn't even hold his hand steady, and he was coughing up blood. Now he's healthy. Let the guy do what he feels passionate about. He can decide when it's time to retire.
Ridges argument is about Eric's health. If the man wants to draw let him draw. How strenuous is that. Ridge is always trying to push someone out of this company, first Hope, then Brooke, then Carter, now Eric. I hope he knows one day Stephie will do the same to him. And this talk from Stephie about leaving the company to his son and granddaughter, Eric has 5 other children. I recall Eric Jr. Was a very big part of that company, I think he is heading the office in Paris. But Thorn too was also a big player and the only reason he is not around because Ridge wanted to be the MVP and he pushed thorn away too. Doesn't Ridge already make all the executive decisions for the company? Eric is not asking have any say in the day to day, he only wants to design along side Ridge, like they once did. Maybe he is feeling nostalgic and just wants that type of relationship he once had with his son. Ridge give Steffie, Brooke, and Carter control of the day to day and design again with your father.
Why do the writers keep on insisting on rehashing this same plot? It was stupid the first go round. Let Eric have some dignity and go on creating as long as he wants to. Ridge is such a stupid bastard and only thinking of himself. He’s the one that should have a health problem and Eric can cover for him. He isn’t really a forrester only his stepson.
Thanks Bob
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend everyone 😀
Thanks Bob.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend everyone.
Has Ridge relegated Eric to the laundry room? Second class citizen status! Looks like a bank of washing machines behind him.
ReplyDeleteBob have a fantastic weekend!!

Koyasha I saw it the same way. Seemed painful.

DeleteAnother recycled SL. I think the horrible new writers they hired to bore us to death were not filled in on the history of the show.
