@Lynn, Sheila knows that Deacon checked out of the marriage the moment he found out that Sheila betrayed him, she's trying to convince herself and others that Deacon has forgiven her. Sheila doesn't deserve forgiveness, she's still carrying secrets Steffy is afraid that her mother gets hurts, one can't blame her either, she's in panic mode.
DeleteUnknown, well Deacon did tell Sheila that he has forgiven her and wants to make the marriage work. So there’s that. But yes, Sheila also has her blinders on. Shelia overheard Deacon giving Taylor complements and was suspicious of what was going on behind closed doors of the therapy sessions when she was eavesdropping that one time. And Deacon always needing to bop off at a moment’s notice to go see Taylor….and also at odd times (late at night) should definitely give Sheila pause. I think to some degree you are right….Sheila doesn’t want to face facts. But she’s also trying to stay optimistic because the thought of losing Deacon would be too much for her heart to bear.
