He needs to pay attention to what is happening. His focus is so much on Thomas manipulating Hope that he doesn't see that his own actions are driving a wedge in their marriage.

It's clear Liam knows something else is going on other than Thomas' so-called obssession, which is the fact that his wife is starting to develop feelings for Thomas. He says he can't put his finger on it but it's probably just a matter of him not wanting to admit that this is what is happening. And if he can't sit down and have a civil conversation with her about her possible feelings for Thomas and hear what she has to say, then he might as well just give her over to Thomas on a silver platter if he continues to badger her.
Paris has seen Hope's inclination to Thomas. Steffy has seen it and has questioned Hope on it. Brooke has also seen it. And Thomas is also beginning to realize that Hope may be developing feelings for him. So why hasn't Liam, Hope's husband, picked up on that?
I would be the first one to say that I want Thomas and Hope together however, Liam and Hope's marriage is being affected and I would like to see them have a sit down to discuss what is going on. That's how a marriage is supposed to work. It shouldn't be about ultimatums and ignorance. Liam and Hope need to communicate and Hope needs to be honest about her feelings rather than blow them off like she did with Steffy. She keeps wanting to be around Thomas, looking at him longingly, complimenting him all the time. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's going on. She needs to come clean to Liam.

Agree. Liam should have saved that conversation for after the show. He should have asked if there was anything she needed & told her not to worry about Beth or anything at home. Showing love & support today would have been the way to go. Then, Liam should give Hope flowers after the show & take her out to dinner to celebrate. That would be a way to tactfully get her away from Thomas. Then, he could approach the topic...

I didn't have an issue with him being there, it's customary for spouses to be there to support their spouse, as Renee so eloquently stated. My problem was with him bringing up his insecurities with Hope at that point in time. It was not necessary.
It is normal for spouses to show support, but look at the glaring contrast between Liam and Finn. Liam made it all about himself then sulked off to cry on daddy’s shoulder. He never offered to, or did anything for Hope to show support or alleviate her stress. It was all, I know your stressed blah blah but really what about ME??? I am unhappy, I am insecure, ME ME ME ME ME!!!
Finn on the other hand was 💯 % supportive of Steffy, and was cooking a nice tea and bringing it round for her later. He helped her relieve her stress first 😘😘.
Thomas show Hope nothing but support, appreciation, respect etc. he values her contributions, builds her up as a parent and and shows upmost confidence in her as a woman and a mother.
Liam undermines her at every turn. He talks down to her and treats her like she’s incapable of making rational decisions or being a competent parent.

Liam needs to have a DISCUSSION with his wife, not another shouting match. It seems clear to me that he knows that Hope doesn't like when he starts to go in on Thomas so maybe he needs to think about a different approach.
I'm glad Steffy is keeping an eye on Thomas. She's been talking to Hope as well and she hasn't seen any indication that Hope is interested in her brother so she is being very careful to let Thomas know that he cannot get obsessed with Hope again. I don't see anything wrong with Thomas getting his hopes up. We have all been down that road with someone that we truly like and wish that they would give us the time of day. We daydream and struggle to hold on to every bit of attention they give us. I am still not willing to say that Thomas is becoming obssessed again. All I see is a guy in love who is thinking about spending time with Hope. What's important is that he has not done anything to try to manipulate Hope, which is very different than it was in the past.
Thomas and Hope have been through a lot together. To have her falling for him in such a natural way and wanting to be around him all the time is really sweet to see. I'm loving it! If they do get together, their relationship will be strong. Thomas will do anything for Hope and Hope won't feel like she is a precious child who cannot do anything on her own. Thomas won't make her feel that way. As for Liam, he will reflect on his actions and will hopefully see how he was responsible for pushing his wife away.
Sadly Liam, like Brooke will only blame Thomas , outside forces, etc everyone but himself for his relationship breaking down.
I hope they give Hope and Thomas a go. However this is Bell Jr we are talking about so… I’m guessing we won’t get a happy anything for Thomas ever because his precious Brooke would be unhappy about it and we cannae have that, can we now?? BBfan, Liam is so insecure about Thomas' obsession with Hope however, he is acting more obsessed with Thomas than ever! And his obsession is blinding him to what is really happening with his wife.
But then again, he doesn't think that Hope could actually fall for Thomas without it being about something that Thomas is doing. He thinks Hope is so gullible that she will fall for whatever manipulation Thomas is doing. So far, Thomas has told Hope twice that she is the only woman for him and he also told her last week that he loves her. She also saw the mannequin behind the blinds. All of this can be signs that Thomas' dark side is coming back (not saying that it is) yet, Hope does not care. She is all over Thomas and she is doing it with her eyes wide open.

He can CLEARLY see that what Hope has been saying from day dot, that Douglas WANTS to be with HIS father, and now he has seen it for himself, he is now more insecure than ever… He is trying to force both Hope and Douglas away from Thomas, not because of any other reason than his jealousy.. Trying to take a kid away from his father is not because he genuinely cares, but because he is not trusting Hope, and she is picking up on that.. That argument was the last thing she needed today.. I agree that she she should not be spending a weekend there without Liam.. or the night.. He should be there too if that occurs, but , he is not handling the situation very well.. If he gave Hope all the support she needs right now, without all the pressure he is putting her under, then “spoke” not argued, to her about it after the preview, then she would be much more receptive towards his feelings.. But also trying to force her to bring Douglas home is not going to work either..

I think he's gloating that 2 women find him hot and he's bragging about it. That's what I'm hoping anyway. But yes Stef needs to keep an eye out for him and keep communicating with him.

Colly, you're right! This is no longer about Douglas' well-being for Liam. It is about getting his wife away from Thomas. And to be clear, i do not blame him for wanting his wife to put some distance between her and Thomas but he also needs to realize that Thomas is not 100% responsbile for that as he seems to think he is. Thomas and Hope share a son together. If Thomas has said to Hope that she can come over everyday to spend time with Douglas, Hope can say no or she can come up with a schedule for when Douglas can come over to the cabin to spend time with them. Also, Thomas and Hope work together. If Thomas is working late on designs, Hope does not have to stay with him, she can go home to her family and leave Thomas to do what he does best. Liam needs to look at that and bring it up with Hope if he does not like it rather than throw "bad Thomas" in her face all the time.
Yes me too Elle.. I can completely agree with him wanting to put some distance between them, that’s understandable, but it’s the way he is going about it, is the problem.. He wonders why Douglas is viewing him the way he is now, because instead of spending time visiting Douglas, he sits bitching with Brooke.. all those times could have been spent with Douglas.. Douglas is a little kid, he doesn’t understand family dynamics the way adults do.. it’s confusing because Hope and Beth are visiting him, but Liam isn’t with them.. So in his mind, he is starting to view his family unit as a whole that doesn’t include Liam.. No one, not even Thomas has said he is not welcome there.. he “chooses”, not to be there, instead sitting and moping with Brooke.. And he wonders why he is in this position.. He barely went to the office to see her either, and take her a cuppa, or lunch or dinner, or anything.. there’s so much he could have done, but chose not to.. And when all is said and done, he blames Thomas for everything.. it doesn’t work that way.. the ONLY thing he is doing, is constantly attacking Thomas, and NOT listening to OR trusting his wife.. Look at Finn today, that’s what Liam should be doing.. but instead, he sits drinking tea with his MIL and feeling sorry for himself.. that’s not going to fix things is Liam??
Yeah, Liam should have waited until after this big important preview show. He knows Hope is under a lot of pressure. Maybe if he went to work sometime he might understand. Hope should tell Thomas they need to sit down with Douglas and have a serious talk. He's old enough to understand mom is married to Liam now. If Douglas wants Hope and Beth to spend the night, Liam has to come too. That will help the boy get the message. I'm sure Eric's house is big enough. I agree with Bill. Kids don't get to call the shots, and don't always get what they want. I'm not a fan of Steffy, but I like how she's telling Thomas not to start obsessing over Hope again. And Thomas just had a cute model ask him out. And he turned her down. No one is that busy that you can't have a cup of coffee. It's clear he's only interested in Hope right now. Hey, I saw today's entire episode without any ad interruptions. Awesome.

Douglas does not want to return to the cabin because he wants to stay with his dad who also wants his son with him. It was because Douglas said he wanted to spend more time with Thomas is why he is at Eric's now. So for me, it's not a matter of Douglas being allowed to call the shots. If Liam forces the issue of having Douglas return to the cabin, he is basically showing that he does not care about what Thomas or Douglas want, only what he wants. And by now, we all know that what Liam wants is for his wife to stop spending so much time with Thomas. He is just using Douglas as the excuse to get his wife back home with him.
As for Thomas and the model, Thomas has said time and time again that he only has eyes for Hope, that there is only one woman for him, that he loves Hope. I was not at all surprised that he turned down the model. He isn't only interested in Hope right now. He always has been and he has made that abundantly clear.
Yesterday I was disappointed with the Halloween show. If the writers were clever enough, they could have done a much better show . But like everyone keeps saying they just cut, copy and paste of what fans enjoyed yrs ago.. From the flashbacks I could see it was more tense and exciting.
That’s the lazy writers way of getting people to keep watching , without having to come up with anything themselves, play a whole bunch of flashbacks for a whole show, walah, done!! But I love watching the flash backs though, but it saddens me at the same time cause it really hits home how goid the show used to be, and what it is reduced to now!!
I actually enjoyed it, D. Sorry you didn't. I enjoyed the flashbacks and being reminded of how good the show was back then. Wish we can get back to that again. Those fights! Omg! They were the best. That stupid paint fight that Brooke and Taylor had where they looked like they were enjoying it more than hating each other was ridiculous.
Elle it wasn't that I didn't enjoy it. Because I don't know the characters I couldn't relate to any of those characters or scenes. They were enjoyable scenes. Alot more entertaining than what we have now. What happened to Stephanie? Was it Sheila that killed her?
Stephanie died of cancer D. Lauren Fenmore is from the Young & the Restless, B&B’d big sister soap. Sheila originally started on Y&R. She stole Lauren and Scot’s son Scotty and made Lauren believe that their son died. Sheila wanted to be married to Scot so it was all part of the plan. Sheila did all kinds of horrible things before running to LOs Angeles where she crossed over to B&B and started her pursuit of Eric. Lauren eventually found out Sheila was there and tried to warn Eric etc.
Actually DD who plays Bill was a former love interest of Lauren, Brad Carlton on Y&R. Very similar character to Bill too 😂.
Anyway, there’s loads of history between those characters and I really enjoyed watching the bad old days! I wish they had writers like that and Bell Sr was still alive to make sure the show was vibrant. I think Bell’s parents would be heartbroken to see what he’s done to their soaps.

However this is Bell Jr we are talking about so… I’m guessing we won’t get a happy anything for Thomas ever because his precious Brooke would be unhappy about it and we cannae have that, can we now?? She must always have it all her way in the end. We know she won’t care if Hope is devastated, as long as Brooke wins.
Elle, bb, that’s exactly right.. he hasn’t done anything to manipulate her, and he is just treating her the way Liam should be.. He supports her in every aspect both personally and professionally, and respects her in every way.. I also love the chemistry between them.. I too hope they give Thomas and Hope a chance for a change, but like you said Bb, they won’t let him be happy at the expense of Brooke!! I would looove to see Brookes reaction if Hope goes to Thomas willingly!! Brookes head will spin faster than the exorcist 😵💫😵💫😵💫🤣🤣🤣

DeleteSo Liam basically wants to force Douglas to return to the cabin with him and Hope. Why does he want to talk Douglas into coming home? Why doesn't he just let Hope know that he would prefer that she spend more time at home with him and Beth than running over to Eric's all the time? Is getting his wife to pay him some attention contingent upon Douglas coming home? Liam needs to wake the heck up!

DeleteBut then again, he doesn't think that Hope could actually fall for Thomas without it being about something that Thomas is doing. He thinks Hope is so gullible that she will fall for whatever manipulation Thomas is doing. So far, Thomas has told Hope twice that she is the only woman for him and he also told her last week that he loves her. She also saw the mannequin behind the blinds. All of this can be signs that Thomas' dark side is coming back (not saying that it is) yet, Hope does not care. She is all over Thomas and she is doing it with her eyes wide open.

He can CLEARLY see that what Hope has been saying from day dot, that Douglas WANTS to be with HIS father, and now he has seen it for himself, he is now more insecure than ever… He is trying to force both Hope and Douglas away from Thomas, not because of any other reason than his jealousy.. Trying to take a kid away from his father is not because he genuinely cares, but because he is not trusting Hope, and she is picking up on that.. That argument was the last thing she needed today.. I agree that she she should not be spending a weekend there without Liam.. or the night.. He should be there too if that occurs, but , he is not handling the situation very well.. If he gave Hope all the support she needs right now, without all the pressure he is putting her under, then “spoke” not argued, to her about it after the preview, then she would be much more receptive towards his feelings.. But also trying to force her to bring Douglas home is not going to work either..
Delete@Elle. I too think Liam is the one obsessed with Thomas. So much so it's driving Hope right to Thomas. And as far as Thomas goes? I think he's gloating that 2 women find him hot and he's bragging about it. That's what I'm hoping anyway. But yes Stef needs to keep an eye out for him and keep communicating with him.

DeleteColly, you're right! This is no longer about Douglas' well-being for Liam. It is about getting his wife away from Thomas. And to be clear, i do not blame him for wanting his wife to put some distance between her and Thomas but he also needs to realize that Thomas is not 100% responsbile for that as he seems to think he is. Thomas and Hope share a son together. If Thomas has said to Hope that she can come over everyday to spend time with Douglas, Hope can say no or she can come up with a schedule for when Douglas can come over to the cabin to spend time with them. Also, Thomas and Hope work together. If Thomas is working late on designs, Hope does not have to stay with him, she can go home to her family and leave Thomas to do what he does best. Liam needs to look at that and bring it up with Hope if he does not like it rather than throw "bad Thomas" in her face all the time.
DeleteYes me too Elle.. I can completely agree with him wanting to put some distance between them, that’s understandable, but it’s the way he is going about it, is the problem.. He wonders why Douglas is viewing him the way he is now, because instead of spending time visiting Douglas, he sits bitching with Brooke.. all those times could have been spent with Douglas.. Douglas is a little kid, he doesn’t understand family dynamics the way adults do.. it’s confusing because Hope and Beth are visiting him, but Liam isn’t with them.. So in his mind, he is starting to view his family unit as a whole that doesn’t include Liam.. No one, not even Thomas has said he is not welcome there.. he “chooses”, not to be there, instead sitting and moping with Brooke.. And he wonders why he is in this position.. He barely went to the office to see her either, and take her a cuppa, or lunch or dinner, or anything.. there’s so much he could have done, but chose not to.. And when all is said and done, he blames Thomas for everything.. it doesn’t work that way.. the ONLY thing he is doing, is constantly attacking Thomas, and NOT listening to OR trusting his wife.. Look at Finn today, that’s what Liam should be doing.. but instead, he sits drinking tea with his MIL and feeling sorry for himself.. that’s not going to fix things is Liam??

ReplyDeleteYeah, Liam should have waited until after this big important preview show. He knows Hope is under a lot of pressure. Maybe if he went to work sometime he might understand. Hope should tell Thomas they need to sit down with Douglas and have a serious talk. He's old enough to understand mom is married to Liam now. If Douglas wants Hope and Beth to spend the night, Liam has to come too. That will help the boy get the message. I'm sure Eric's house is big enough. I agree with Bill. Kids don't get to call the shots, and don't always get what they want. I'm not a fan of Steffy, but I like how she's telling Thomas not to start obsessing over Hope again. And Thomas just had a cute model ask him out. And he turned her down. No one is that busy that you can't have a cup of coffee. It's clear he's only interested in Hope right now. Hey, I saw today's entire episode without any ad interruptions. Awesome.

DeleteI wondered how come Thomas and Hope did not have that discussion with Douglas as yet. Maybe it's because they are too wrapped up in the upcoming preview. Let's hope we see them having that talk with Douglas after the preview.
DeleteDouglas does not want to return to the cabin because he wants to stay with his dad who also wants his son with him. It was because Douglas said he wanted to spend more time with Thomas is why he is at Eric's now. So for me, it's not a matter of Douglas being allowed to call the shots. If Liam forces the issue of having Douglas return to the cabin, he is basically showing that he does not care about what Thomas or Douglas want, only what he wants. And by now, we all know that what Liam wants is for his wife to stop spending so much time with Thomas. He is just using Douglas as the excuse to get his wife back home with him.
As for Thomas and the model, Thomas has said time and time again that he only has eyes for Hope, that there is only one woman for him, that he loves Hope. I was not at all surprised that he turned down the model. He isn't only interested in Hope right now. He always has been and he has made that abundantly clear.
Yesterday I was disappointed with the Halloween show. If the writers were clever enough, they could have done a much better show . But like everyone keeps saying they just cut, copy and paste of what fans enjoyed yrs ago.. From the flashbacks I could see it was more tense and exciting.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the lazy writers way of getting people to keep watching , without having to come up with anything themselves, play a whole bunch of flashbacks for a whole show, walah, done!! But I love watching the flash backs though, but it saddens me at the same time cause it really hits home how goid the show used to be, and what it is reduced to now!!

They were the best. That stupid paint fight that Brooke and Taylor had where they looked like they were enjoying it more than hating each other was ridiculous.

DeleteStephanie died of cancer D. Lauren Fenmore is from the Young & the Restless, B&B’d big sister soap. Sheila originally started on Y&R. She stole Lauren and Scot’s son Scotty and made Lauren believe that their son died. Sheila wanted to be married to Scot so it was all part of the plan. Sheila did all kinds of horrible things before running to LOs Angeles where she crossed over to B&B and started her pursuit of Eric. Lauren eventually found out Sheila was there and tried to warn Eric etc.
DeleteActually DD who plays Bill was a former love interest of Lauren, Brad Carlton on Y&R. Very similar character to Bill too 😂.
Anyway, there’s loads of history between those characters and I really enjoyed watching the bad old days! I wish they had writers like that and Bell Sr was still alive to make sure the show was vibrant. I think Bell’s parents would be heartbroken to see what he’s done to their soaps.
