Gals, yes, Taylor avoided it because she is "Madly in love with one man." She is not thinking clearly because all that stuff she learned on her wedding day was thrown in her face, she barely had time to digest what Thomas did. What would really get me, is if she obviously was married Ridge, then he finds out the truth, afterwards, he would be getting an annulment so fast, and running to Brooke, quicker than you could say "Mississippi." It is obvious that the writers love to pick on Taylor's character, to make her look like a love-blinded woman who could only think of one man. She is again getting hurt and dumped again. However, it is nothing to what is coming up for Thomas, he going to have it worse than Taylor. Taylor was standing her in Aspen, BUT again Ridge got the best out of her, he knew how to butter her up, and she bought. She had ample of opportunities with other men but she blew it especially with Whip, but no she allowed Ridge to get the best out of her even though he was married to Brooke. It like Taylor is saying, I can't love another man, only Ridge. I know she wants so bad Ridge, but he will never give up his whole heart that he has given to Brooke. He may care for Taylor but not in the way Taylor wants him too.
I agree Elizabeth, the wedding music to call her to come down was playing, she barely had a second to process it, I think she was in shock , as you would be, and you could see how much she was struggling with her decision.. I think she was deep down hoping Steffy would say something, so she didn’t have to, but still, she should have spilled the beans herself.. But she had no time to prepare herself with that.. And yes, I think that’s why Hunter Tylo turned down the opportunity to reprise her role of Taylor.. I would too, if I knew it was going to go back down that same road!!
@ Colly I think she would have said something, but she was just paralyzed to speak, and Bell keeps making her character look helpless, cause both you and I know that Taylor has always been a tough gal in the past and she was never afraid to speak, compare to what the writers are doing to her storyline now.

She's not. The main motivating factor for her stopping the wedding was so that her parents do not start off their marriage on a lie, not for her dad to run back to Brooke. I agree Mandy, but I think Steffy did the right thing.. I don’t want to see Taylor hurt again because of Brooke, but I understand where Steffy is coming from.. I wouldn’t want my mother to get married based on a lie.. I would want to know if my father meant the things Ridge said to Taylor, and the only way to know that for sure, would be for him to know.. Then if he still wants to be with Taylor, then at least it’s for the right reasons.. Ridge has been lying and saying his decision to be with Taylor was because he truly loves her, and even confirmed to Taylor when she asked in Aspen, had Brooks not have done anything, would he still feel the same way and he said he wanted to be with Taylor and not because of anything Brooke did.. Then he told them the night before, but reassured Taylor when Steffy put the question to him, to which he again responded in the same manner.. Mandy, I keep hearing people talk about all the horrible things Brooke has done to the Forresters but she hasn't done anything near as heinous as what's been done to her. Stephanie has a laundry list of things she has done over the years to Brooke (and others): gave Brooke her gun and told her to kill herself, incessant name calling for years, setting Brooke up by paying a strange man try to woo her so she would not get between Ridge and Ashley and even told the guy where the spare key was so he could enter her home whereby she was subsequently raped as a result (most unforgiveable thing ever), faked a heart attack so Ridge would remarry Taylor instead of Brooke, tried to strangle the life out of Brooke over her relationship with Thorne, coerced Thomas to tell everyone he had sex with Brooke after the plane crash, tried to kill Brooke again by wrapping the telephone cord around her neck and pointing a gun at her when she found out the truth about Shane killing himself in front of Ridge to frame him for murder and Stephanie helping Ridge frame Nick instead by telling him to dump the body and gun near Nick's boat (WTH!). I know there is more but my God - that's a lot. Lastly, no one forced any of the men in her life to propose or marry her. If she's at fault then they are too...takes 2 to tango. If Stephanie had just lived her own life and focused on Eric, Brooke probably would have been gone a long time ago. She made all the men in her life want to protect her because of how badly Stephanie treated her. Ridge never treated her right from the start - always used her as his backup until he finally decided she was the ONE and even now he's still waffling between the same 2 women.
Nativegirl good points only one thing that many people forget - Ridge wanted Brooke all along (didn't treat her right for sure). He was ready to marry her, but let her go because he wanted to give his dad and little Rick a chance to have their family, he didn't want to ruin that. He got a scare after Rick had an accident and Thorne had a talk with him. So he pretended to have an affair and had Brooke catch him in order to get mad and leave him, then flew to St Thomas to Taylor. That's how the engagement to Taylor happened. Of course, I'm not saying their love wasn't real and beautiful (even though he also didn't treat her right, he enjoyed Brooke's advances very much, defended her at every turn including when she took FC 😁) just saying that their marriage wasn't without other reasons.

Lynn I was somehow hoping Taylor would tell the truth, it's really not like her to be deceptive (at least as far as I remember her from the past). But I expect her to come clean that she knew, that I hope she doesn't gloss over. Btw I hope Brooke's dad talks some reason into her, he's the only one who tells her what a moron Ridge is to treat her like that, her sisters are all "aww sis...". Tough love is needed. The FF blame the characters when it's a Logan doing something questionable, and the writers when it's a Forester. That's so silly and childish. Hello, the writers made the WHOLE SHOW, AND EVERY CHARACTER ON IT!! The writers are the CREATORS, and they decide who a character is at their very core, not us as the viewers. The story line was interesting but what I'm not a fan of is the destruction of Taylor's character to help it more easier for Ridge to go back to Brooke who is always causing pain in the Forrester family herself. Taylor was the victim because although Ridge came to Aspen after Taylor it was ONLY because she wouldn't confess to him. When asked the question Ridge lied saying it has nothing to do with the CPS call. Taylor deserves better than Ridge because he will never leave Brooke and who is gonna pick up her pieces this time.
I don't care what happened in the past but this case of Ridge not giving Brooke the reason for his breakup with her, Thomas so screwed up and manipulating his son, father and rest of both families at any cost, really is one of the worst tricks to pull, don't you think ! Not actually a trick but a master psycho !!
If it could ever be assumed that Ridge was telling the truth about his feelings, the CPS thing should have been a non-issue with regard to the wedding. Remember that Ridge swore that his reasons for coming to Taylor had nothing to do with Brooke. That was a lie. Thomas might have drawn first blood with his lie but it wouldn't have mattered if Ridge hadn't lied to Taylor about his motives for returning to her. If he had been sincere, the dialogue would be more like "yeah, our son's a scoundrel but we're in love so let's get married and we'll deal with him together." It's not like Brooke hasn't betrayed Ridge 100 times before. I agree with part of what Steffy because she was trying to protect both her parents from the inevitable fallout of finding out the truth after they were married. But what Steffy should have done was leave Taylor out of it altogether so her integrity wouldn't be diminished. Why did she have to tell her? Why didn't she tell RIDGE ahead of time??? Now Taylor looks as dishonest as Thomas. I see another tear-streaked, destiny soaked reunion in Brooke's future and it's getting really old. Maybe I'm wrong? I can hope.

I agree Mandy, but I think Steffy did the right thing.. I don’t want to see Taylor hurt again because of Brooke, but I understand where Steffy is coming from.. I wouldn’t want my mother to get married based on a lie.. I would want to know if my father meant the things Ridge said to Taylor, and the only way to know that for sure, would be for him to know.. Then if he still wants to be with Taylor, then at least it’s for the right reasons.. Ridge has been lying and saying his decision to be with Taylor was because he truly loves her, and even confirmed to Taylor when she asked in Aspen, had Brooks not have done anything, would he still feel the same way and he said he wanted to be with Taylor and not because of anything Brooke did.. Then he told them the night before, but reassured Taylor when Steffy put the question to him, to which he again responded in the same manner.. So it will be interesting to see what happens and what he does?? I have a sneaky suspicion he may stay with Taylor, but it’s a guess at best??
DeleteMandy, I keep hearing people talk about all the horrible things Brooke has done to the Forresters but she hasn't done anything near as heinous as what's been done to her. Stephanie has a laundry list of things she has done over the years to Brooke (and others): gave Brooke her gun and told her to kill herself, incessant name calling for years, setting Brooke up by paying a strange man try to woo her so she would not get between Ridge and Ashley and even told the guy where the spare key was so he could enter her home whereby she was subsequently raped as a result (most unforgiveable thing ever), faked a heart attack so Ridge would remarry Taylor instead of Brooke, tried to strangle the life out of Brooke over her relationship with Thorne, coerced Thomas to tell everyone he had sex with Brooke after the plane crash, tried to kill Brooke again by wrapping the telephone cord around her neck and pointing a gun at her when she found out the truth about Shane killing himself in front of Ridge to frame him for murder and Stephanie helping Ridge frame Nick instead by telling him to dump the body and gun near Nick's boat (WTH!). I know there is more but my God - that's a lot. Lastly, no one forced any of the men in her life to propose or marry her. If she's at fault then they are too...takes 2 to tango. If Stephanie had just lived her own life and focused on Eric, Brooke probably would have been gone a long time ago. She made all the men in her life want to protect her because of how badly Stephanie treated her. Ridge never treated her right from the start - always used her as his backup until he finally decided she was the ONE and even now he's still waffling between the same 2 women.

DeleteNativegirl good points only one thing that many people forget - Ridge wanted Brooke all along (didn't treat her right for sure). He was ready to marry her, but let her go because he wanted to give his dad and little Rick a chance to have their family, he didn't want to ruin that. He got a scare after Rick had an accident and Thorne had a talk with him. So he pretended to have an affair and had Brooke catch him in order to get mad and leave him, then flew to St Thomas to Taylor. That's how the engagement to Taylor happened. Of course, I'm not saying their love wasn't real and beautiful (even though he also didn't treat her right, he enjoyed Brooke's advances very much, defended her at every turn including when she took FC 😁) just saying that their marriage wasn't without other reasons.

Milla, I was also kind of taken back by the fact that she didn’t say anything. I agree, that seemed out of character for Taylor. I honestly think Ridge will be upset that she didn’t say anything. But he also has to walk a fine line with Taylor, because he did tell her he was marrying her because he loved her and not because of something Brooke did. So now he has to admit to her that he wasn’t being honest with her, and that the CPS call was what made him ask Brooke for an annulment.

It's mind boggling how some of these fans seem to think they know a character better than the people who created said character. Some of these FFs live in complete denial. ReplyDeleteThe story line was interesting but what I'm not a fan of is the destruction of Taylor's character to help it more easier for Ridge to go back to Brooke who is always causing pain in the Forrester family herself. Taylor was the victim because although Ridge came to Aspen after Taylor it was ONLY because she wouldn't confess to him. When asked the question Ridge lied saying it has nothing to do with the CPS call. Taylor deserves better than Ridge because he will never leave Brooke and who is gonna pick up her pieces this time.

DeleteIf it could ever be assumed that Ridge was telling the truth about his feelings, the CPS thing should have been a non-issue with regard to the wedding. Remember that Ridge swore that his reasons for coming to Taylor had nothing to do with Brooke. That was a lie. Thomas might have drawn first blood with his lie but it wouldn't have mattered if Ridge hadn't lied to Taylor about his motives for returning to her. If he had been sincere, the dialogue would be more like "yeah, our son's a scoundrel but we're in love so let's get married and we'll deal with him together." It's not like Brooke hasn't betrayed Ridge 100 times before. I agree with part of what Steffy because she was trying to protect both her parents from the inevitable fallout of finding out the truth after they were married. But what Steffy should have done was leave Taylor out of it altogether so her integrity wouldn't be diminished. Why did she have to tell her? Why didn't she tell RIDGE ahead of time??? Now Taylor looks as dishonest as Thomas. I see another tear-streaked, destiny soaked reunion in Brooke's future and it's getting really old. Maybe I'm wrong? I can hope.
