Thanks, Mandy, for your reply but the fake familiarity was still bothersome so I looked it up. R.J. returned from boarding school SORASed as a 16 year old in September of 2016 and left @ age 17 in February of 2018 to follow Rick & Maya to France so he should be turning 23 in June unless they revert back to his birthday 6/22/04 where he would turn 19.
DeleteTaylor left the show October of 2014 and didn’t return until April of 2018, therefore, no - they did not cross paths. It is possible that the show changed history but there is no reason for them to act close when they never were … being friendly is one thing but they acted like old pals yesterday. ð
Has anyone else noticed the frequency of calling R.J., “Ridge, Jr.?” which is also something new which makes me wonder whether R.J.’s question of paternity will re-emerge as the original Sally, Jackie and Deacon each took a turn @ altering the paternity results. I, for one, would like to see Nick Marone return for more SL options.
Right on Madny!! Thomas and Steffy will be his second choices once again. Since his favorite child and namesake has returned. GMAB. ðĄ
DeleteNick and Jack should return!! Nobody here has forgotten the child Taylor gave birth to and is biologically Brooke's. I still can't believe none of them ever mentions him! I rewatched some episodes recently and the storyline was so amazing, Taylor giving him up to Brooke was incredible and sooo well acted.
DeleteIf I was most of those actors, I’d boycott the show until they write me less embarrassing lines. How many times can Brooke repeat she’s excited? How many times can Liam repeat the same things to Wyatt?! And all the rest is so forced, so cringey…

I thought it was hilarious he out Thomas on notice. He’s assuming his parents will get back together. Honestly, if I were him I’d want my mum to have a fella that won’t treat her the way Ridge does.
He seemed stunned that his mum and Taylor truly are besties. He and Taylor seem to get on well. Glad to see that.
I think it’s a good thing he wants to do his own thing. He’s not interested in fashion. Why should he have to work at Forrester? Ridge needs to grow up and stop pressuring his son. RJ clearly doesn’t want to be his mini me.
BBFAN This pushing the young man was one of the many many annoying things. Like why?! Of course, that's the only way we'd get to see him, heaven forbid they put a set anywhere but at FC, the 2 houses and IG...

I think with time RJ will find more opinions and will build his temper/character. Can't wait to see how he develops. I have the feeling he'll have a stubborn streak.

DeleteI liked how Steffy was getting annoyed to have to reassure him yet again, the actress played very well the struggle to be polite but also show she's getting impatient. Plus having to sing and hear Hope's praises - OK let's keep it real ð

DeleteFirst - Thomas is hilarious asking Taylor if she is concerned now that RJ is back…since he is Ridge’s only son with Brooke. Ridiculous!! Hey Thomas, you and Steffy have been around your dad for years as Taylor’s kids with Ridge. So what’s your point???
You ladies complain about Liam whining to Steffy and now Wyatt, and say Liam never works. But all Taylor does is hang around FC every day giving Thomas advice or palling around with Brooke, Steffy or Ridge. So Taylor is clearly not working either. ððð
I agree with Milla that the dialogue is completely pathetic. Nothing natural about the conversations. And Thomas’ face in the “One Big Happy Family” photo is too hilarious!! He is the ONLY ONE not smiling. Jealous much, Thomas???!!! Hell yeah he is!! ðððð
And Ridge with his “big blended family”….too funny!!! Ridge thinks he’s some big king-of-the-jungle lion with his many lionesses and cubs!! Oh Ridge, you definitely aren’t all that!! ððð
Thomas is not jealous. And Taylor can hang around FC if she wants to. She has three kids by Ridge.

DeleteLiam is very rarely at FC. He has been there more this last couple of weeks because of his concerns about Thomas and Hope.
And Taylor may as well bring her suitcase to FC because she is there so often loitering!!!! ðĪĢðĪĢðĪĢðĪĢðĪĢ. Poor wanna-be psychiatrist Taylor has no patients, so all she can do is counsel her kids!! Too funny!!
And RJ just showed up, so you may as well get used to him. He’s gonna be a permanent fixture.
And what does “quantity of kids” have to do with anything? One of those three you mention is dead. So I don’t think that officially counts as three. But regardless, RJ has just as much rights to FC as Ridge’s other kids, and perhaps even more rights…because BOTH of his parents work at FC. Poor sad Thomas, he is not gonna like sharing the spotlight. But that’s exactly what he’s gonna have to do!! And my guess is….Ridge will favor RJ, and that will make Thomas even more insecure and jealous!!!
And Valinda, the reason the Logans “hang out” at FC is because they all work there!!! That’s not “hanging out!”

DeleteUnknown, RJ has been pouring on the sugary sweet goo just like all the other actors have been since he arrived. Once all the excitement wears off, I’m sure we will see his actual acting skills. Give it a few episodes before you dismiss him. I think he will be just fine. I’m glad we finally have a new character on the show. It’s about dang time!
DeleteAnd to this day I still think Finn is stiff as heck when he acts. But he’s an integral part of the show. So I just accept that he is doing the best he can.

DeleteI always thought that thomas genuinely loved his mother despite not giving a damn about his father's feelings, but after yesterday's episode I am pretty sure that he doesn't really love Taylor either.
He wants to force a negative reaction out of her so she would fight with Brooke again.
It's never about love with this guy... It's always about his ego. He wants Taylor to win because it's HIS mom, an extension of himself...If she wins, he wins. Even if it means that she will be a rebound once more. Even if it means that she will have to suffer and humiliate herself in the process.
He knows that his dad left his mom at the altar 3 times since 2008.
He was there each time... And each time it took scheming and manipulation Even an complete idiot would know that Ridge prefers to be with Brooke and he knows that too
That's why he believes that Ridge and Brooke's one son can bring them back together when Taylor and Ridge's two kids and manipulations couldn't.
Rick was pretty toxic and spoiled brat like the rest of them, but at least he didn't want his mom to be on her knees for Ridge Because he really does love her.
Mmysh, that’s really interesting insight into Thomas’ behavior. You definitely may be correct. I think Thomas’ changed behavior is going to be very short lived. He is definitely going to revert back to his old ways. Probably very soon!!

DeleteI like RJ, for a new actor who doesn't yet feel all the dynamics he's doing a good job. The grin after everyone tells him now proud and how much they missed him is of a satisfied cat but other than that he's alright. He'll definitely find his voice and dynamics with the others.
Btw in a more realistic setting Hope would realize both her and Thomas calling the same guy their brother makes her vibes to Thomas gross and borderline incestuous and that would be enough to get her to snap out of it.

DeleteHow is it any different to Brooke being married to Eric while sleeping with her stepson? Thomas and Hope were (not anymore) step-siblings, not biologically related. They happen to share a HALF brother, not because they share the same father but because their mothers were both involved with and had children with the same man.

Exactly Mmysh I also saw on instagram the pleads to stop with the Hope/Thomas madness because it’s bordering on incestuous. If you check the official insta account of the show you won’t find many supporters (if any) of that storyline.

I was watching now some older episodes when Hope was a newborn, little Thomas had just "lost" his mom and they were bonding, he was giving her his toys. It wasn't long before Brooke and Ridge married and they became one family, treating each other like siblings. Having watched this definitely puts a particularly creepy spin on the Thope ð

ReplyDelete@Milla I don't think actors have the luxury of boycotting when they aren't happy with their roles. If they did, they would be out of work. They're just trying to make a living. Does anyone remember the NBC show Passions. They had all kinds of outrageous plots; witches and demons. I bet those actors were not very proud of those shows, but they cashed those checks as long as they could.

I know that money is what they are after and not leaving some amazing legacy, I just have to ðĪĶðŧ♀️ at all the dialogues. Especially for those (mostly Brooke at this point) who know what really good storylines look like.

DeleteOne of the things that really pissed me off though was Ridge telling Hope "you're not my daughter". Back when it was RM playing the role, he was all about her being his daughter, when she and RJ were little he would call them "our children" and she would call him dad. Saying that today was so unnecessary like - here's my children and there's you, not my daughter, even though I raised you... Why not just say "of course you'll be in the pic, you're part of my family too", the "not my daughter" distinction was almost hurtful. Especially considering his motivation for the pic was to show "one family".

I caught that, too, and all the references to half brother. ððð It was written for audience benefit but they are so repetitive, because they assume we can’t catch on fast enough. ðĪŠ This script was offensive. Everyone in the room is aware that Ridge has been Hope’s stepfather for big parts of her life and not her bio dad so, like you said, totally unnecessary … and same for pointing out that R.J. is all three of his present siblings half brother - they would all be aware. In my family and with everyone we know well, family is family … we don’t differentiate full, half, step or adopted siblings. No matter how they are connected, brothers and sisters call each other that - not, “my half brother,” “my step sister,” or “my adopted brother,” for example. The script could have given the same message with a little more finesse. These writers are clueless.
DeleteUnknown I agree and if I had step/half siblings, I also wouldn't call them step or half. Especially in such a context can make someone feel excluded and it's not necessary.
DeleteMaybe it's because Ridge is no longer married to Hope's mother and Hope is no longer his step-daughter. Also, their relationship has been at odds ever since Deacon returned. Ridge told Hope, in no uncertain terms, that she had to find her own place if she insisted on having a relationship with her father. And Hope has also not shown a lot of love for Ridge as she was quick to push her father and encourage her mother to be together as soon as Ridge and her mother were divorced.
DeleteOr maybe, it is because they had been talking about half siblings and the such that he said it. He kept talking about the children he has with these 2 amazing women. Hope is not one of them, that's why he probably said it. And I don't believe Hope took offense to it either.
Actually it sounded like Ridge was saying although she’s not his child biologically, she’s still his family, so join in! Hope looked rather odd person out for the photo.

ReplyDeleteYou're right. Liam has raised his concerns with both Hope and Thomas and also with Steffy and is still not willing to make an effort to put aside what he is feeling. Nobody says he has to forget about it as he is justified in what he feels given his and Hope's past with Thomas, but it seems like he's obsessed with Thomas to the point where it's affecting his daily life. That's not a good sign.
