Doe anyone remember the time when there was much less chewing on the same lines which allowed for multiple storylines (and less laughable ones than this too) to unfold.

DeleteSince I didn’t watch any other soaps, I gotta wonder if all of them are this bad with repeat dialogue day after day after day? It’s almost an embarrassment that we waste our time. Sadly, I’m addicted to the show. Probably many of us are.
Lynn 🤗🤗 I always wonder how you native speakers even manage to go through the dialogues without going crazy. For me it's sometimes unbearable and the language "flows" differently, no idea how you handle it. Maybe skipping a lot 😀🙈but yes me too I'm a bit addicted and also hopeful that it's a (very big) slump they need to overcome and go back to good writing and storylines eventually.

But now Thomas overheard and now Hope is afraid of losing Thomas, look how desperate she was in trying to explain her conversation with Mother Dearest.

Why do you think there are so many divorces in todays world. I can see why Hope would like to get away from boring, obsessive Liam. He tries to control her every move because he is so insecure. He never complements her on her accomplishments. He can fool around and expect her to forgive him, but if she does it, it’s not right and just blame it on the other man, right?

Hope said she didn’t actually mean what she said about his being mentally unstable and manipulative!!! She said she knows he’s changed, that they are in such a good place, etc. She was telling Brooke what she wanted and expected to hear from Hope.

The way Hope spoke to Brooke at the end was like a teenager replying to their parent after a lecture. “I know, I know, I have the perfect husband and family, nothing can ever happen between me and Thomas, He’s mentally unstable and manipulative. I am not going to wreck my marriage.” She was parroting what Brooke was scolding her about.
DeleteShe was so mortified Thomas heard it, because she doesn’t actually feel that way a lot him or mean what she was telling Brooke and it hurt him.
BBFan knowing her I don't think she'll say it out right but she may send him hints or encourage him to do more for Hope and he will start to put 2 and 2 together. Or she may not do anything.

What was interesting to me is that Hope didn't respond only about Thomas, who Brooke was lecturing her about, but she also said that "she is going to go home to Liam." It sounded a little to me as if going home to her husband is no longer something she looks forward to but she said it because she knows it's what Brooke wants to hear. That's my opinion, anyway.

ReplyDeleteThat surprised me when she told Brooke she was the one having feelings for Thomas. I think it was only because Brooke was going on about Thomas being inappropriate and Hope couldn’t take it anymore!
Now Hope is begging Thomas for forgiveness and to believe her that she knows he’s changed etc. She is acting really odd.
Liam talking about the “incident” in San Francisco like something happened wtf?? It’s so old!

DeleteFor the first time ever, I actually felt a bit bad for Thomas today. What Hope said to Brooke was hurtful given the changes Thomas has made. I still say Thomas will revert back to his old self, but his current ‘new self’ did not deserve to hear what Hope told Brooke.

Thank you for your comment, Lynn. Thomas really is trying and it seems very important to him to prove to everyone that he has changed. I hope he would not throw away all the hard work he is putting in to redeem himself just to turn around and revert to his old ways.
DeleteHonestly, it felt like Hope was telling her mum what she wanted to hear and what her mum and Liam say about Thomas. Hope was trying so hard to convince Thomas that she didn’t actually mean it and was saying for her mum’s benefit.
DeleteI think she deeply cares for him and that’s why she was crying and asking him to forgive her. She really didn’t want to hurt him. It’s got to be a very difficult position for her to be in.

Maybe he's afraid if he comes to Italy he wouldn't want to return 😂 Italy is so far my favorite country, it has everything - history, architecture, mountains, breathtaking beaches, food, lovely people arguing one second and laughing the next... My sister-in-law is from there and they moved this year there from the UK ❤️

Thanks Elle 😊. For 20 yrs it's been a ritual here the May 24 weekend, friends come up with campers and camp out down at the pond or back near the forest to get away from city life. We have a great time, no one gets out of hand. I'm dying to see what Hope does Monday but I'll have to watch it later.

Lol we put them to work though. After the winter there are trees, fences down and lots of grass to cut. They have fun on the garden tractors, 4 wheelers with a beer in one hand and what they're smoking in the other 😊 to each his own. Agree with you the storyline is dragging on way too long now.

And if she has any designs on being with Ridge again (she has been lying about her feelings for Thomas, bet she's lying about how she feels about going back to Ridge too), she better think again. One of the major conflicts in their marriage has been Thomas. No way are Ridge and Taylor going to accept her going against their son.

I don’t like the whole, the plane had mechanical failure and suddenly the Thomas we’ve seen make such good changes etc is suddenly menace who must be coming onto you … wtf??? Brooke needs to stop listening to Liam’s paranoid rants.
Wyatt had it right, Hope shouldn’t have been feeling bad and apologising to Liam for a mechanical failure on the jet. The fact is his level of controlling behaviour is bordering on emotional abuse now.
Hope looks so sad and nervous around Liam. She walks on egg shells, afraid to upset him. She says what he wants to hear then looks terribly guilty.
Liam actually said in all the time he’s known Hope she’s never been so passionate as now ( when she’s been woolgathering and developing intense feelings for Thomas).
It says a lot about the marriage. It someone is one’s soulmate, that passion should have been there at the start. To be rekindled as needed, got to keep the fires burning.
I always felt the lack of chemistry between Hope and Liam and it was only tepid at best.
