Hope should be grateful that Liam didn't sleep with Steffy again when she told him that Hope may have feelings for Thomas. Because, if that happened we would all be back on the merry-go-round again with a pregnancy, paternity test, etc. At least Liam has made progress to where he confronted Hope. 😂

DeleteFinally a breath of fresh Lynn air. Lynn I will never agree Hope doesn’t love Liam. When she said that with the heart I know she meant it. If I were you I wouldn’t even engage in the discussion about her "lying"! There is a huuuge leap (or rather downfall) between what she has with her husband and a crush (crash 😅) for Thomas. I hope Liam just manages to hold on a little longer and not make himself crazy with Thomas. He is not a threat. And Hope is not rushing to be with him. You pointed out very well that if she wanted to leave Liam, she could have thrown in the towel right then and there. DeleteI did love the episode indeed, I felt so much for both Liam and Hope. Like you say Scott is amazing, his talent just explodes when the dialogue allows it. And he really puts a lot of energy into doing a good job. I love how in their pain, like in their happiness, the two of them literally still fall back into each other's arms.
Btw I really liked this analysis. They never gave a real explanation of why Hope all of a sudden started developing feelings for Thomas. That's what makes the storyline so terrible.

And if that time comes, I will lose a TON of respect for her character. But if cheating does take place, my money is on her regretting it more than she can possibly know! I’ve been saying all along that she is confused. Yes, she is finding herself drawn to Thomas because of “the man she has seen him turn into.” And I will admit she seems tempted at times to cross the line. But she has yet to do it. If she does, I will be soooooo disappointed in her!!
And if she truly is in love with Thomas like you are convinced she is, then today was her perfect opportunity to come clean with Liam and ask for a divorce. Especially after he pretty much laid down the law about her working with Thomas. She so easily could have told Liam to GO POUND SAND!! But SHE DID NOT!!! She instead did a 180 in her approach and went over and hugged Liam, and told him that he and their life together meant EVERYTHING to her!!!!
Why would she do that if she was in love with Thomas as you say?? That was the perfect escape hatch for her, and she DID NOT take it!!!
As I said before, it remains to be seen if she will cheat. But if she does, she is going to have HUGE regrets afterwards. That I am sure of !!!
And I don’t see Liam as being controlling at all!! As he pointed out, he has always trusted her until she gave him reason not to. He didn’t fight her on the San Francisco trip. He has always supported her career choices. And he has been dealing with her never ending late nights at the office with Thomas and letting it all go. Liam has been very understanding! He is nowhere near the controlling husband you ladies say he is!!

@D Agreed! Hope is feeling guilt. She has been with Liam basically all of her adult life so, of course she loves him but, she is falling for Thomas too because of the man that he has become.
DeleteI don't think she's as committed to Liam or her marriage as she used to be (given all the late nights with Thomas that she chooses to prioritize over her husband), but she also isn't ready to walk away from the familiarity of what she has with Liam.
Whether or not anyone wants to see or believe or admit it, if Hope continues this way, her marriage will be severely affected, whether she is still in love with Liam or not. It's already beginning to crack now that Liam's eyes have been opened. And he's not stupid. He will begin to internalize all of her recent behavior. I'm really curious to see what Liam does next. And Hope too. Will she finally put some boundaries where Thomas is concerned? Or will she just blame Steffy for telling Liam what she saw between Thomas and Hope?
I'm expecting next week to refocus on other characters (just hope not on Bill and Katie 😒😒) and then the Hope/Liam/Thomas/Steffy intensity to continue in Rome.

DeleteWhen has Taylor ever said that to Ridge? Since she returned to LA, Taylor was very cautious with him at the start. She let him know that she was not going to sleep with him. The only reason she was drawn back to him was because HE led her to believe that they could be together. HE started spending a lot of time with his family and HE invited her to family gatherings instead of his wife. HE initiated the kiss in Monaco and told her that HE should have put her and his family first instead of chasing after some... And after she made up her mind that she was done with him and went to Aspen to take some time away, HE went after her. And even when she tried to run away from him so as not to fall for his fake declarations, HE ran after her and professed his love and vowed that she was who he wanted. So I'm not sure when we have ever heard Taylor say anything like that to Ridge. I remember Steffy and Thomas saying those things and Taylor, more than once, telling them to drop it. The only mistake Taylor made was believing Ridge.
DeleteAs for the pact, maybe Brooke finds out that Taylor is trying to set her up with Deacon. Their pact also stated that they would commit to loving themselves first and putting their friendship first. Brooke may see this Deacon thing as a betrayal of their friendship since Taylor is doing it behind her back. So all of this wishful thinking about Taylor kissing or sleeping with Ridge will be just that. Hope y'all LFs enjoy the crow. 🤭

I, for one, always said that I couldn't give a flying F about the pact and the "friendship" because it's beyond unbelievable, needless and expressed in Brooke catching the giggles. So I don't care if Taylor kisses Ridge or not, especially since we pretty much know Brooke and Ridge reunite. She better stop obsessing about Brooke's life and focus on her own. Spend time in her own business and not everyone else's.
Elle, you crack me up. I love how you totally leave out the part about Taylor constantly hanging on / pawing at Ridge every opportunity she got when her kids were ACTIVELY TRYING to reunite their parents. Taylor was PURSUING a married man, going to FC every second she got and being her flirty / giggly self with Ridge. Steffy would have Ridge to the beach house often to spend time “with the family”, then Thomas and Steffy would intentionally leave Taylor and Ridge alone together in the hopes they would rekindle their love. So PLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEE don’t go on and on about how Ridge pursued Taylor. No one is fooled here. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

DeleteElle, how can you say that? Don’t you remember Taylor on a number of different occasions telling Ridge that she never stopped loving him? She even told him a couple of times, “You already know how I feel, Ridge. It’s time for you to decide.” Then Steffy convinced her she needed to be even more aggressive in her approach and turn up the pressure. Taylor told him multiple times why he shouldn’t be with Brooke and how Brooke was going to continue to hurt him / lie to him. If she didn’t want him for herself, none of the above would have taken place.

She said that the changes he has made has changed the way she sees him. There's no mysterious reason for her feelings. She simply sees Thomas now as someone who is worthy of love.

Elle yes that's the only reason I can see too, but I think it wasn't explained yet directly. It started so suddenly (at least what I accept as a start of it 😀) which is since Brooke said bad boys, there wasn't a gradual development which I would expect in the "seeing someone differently" setup, it went from 0 to baam long looks and slow hugs and sexual fantasies. That's what makes me wonder if that's all there is?
DeleteYes, it will seem sudden to you given your belief of when it started. You know that I believe her outlook on Thomas started changing since last year. Especially since she had that flashback of a fitting they did around that time. I think that was a clue as to when she started softening toward him.

So first the contention is that Hope falls for Thomas literally out of the blue because Brooke mentions something about her own past and “bad boys”, and that somehow miraculously triggers something in Hope to fall for “Thomas - the bad boy.” Completely ridiculous yes - but that’s what we were originally led to believe.
DeleteBut now….a total 180 - and we are supposed to believe Hope fell for Thomas because now he’s turned into a “good boy” and that change in his character has made her stop loving her husband and fall for Thomas because he’s turned into a “good guy”!!!???
I gotta say, either scenario is completely out of the scope of possibility unless she was having major issues in her marriage and was just looking to have an affair. In any other scenario, Hope’s character would simply say….”I’m so proud of Thomas. He has become such a good person and that makes me happy.” She wouldn’t start having “feelings” for him. It’s absurd! The only way it would be a possibility is if she was already having trouble in her marriage and was looking to have an affair as I stated above. And that was not the case! She and Liam were doing great!!
I've never been married so I can't say for sure but I do not believe that a marriage has to be experiencing problems for someone to start having feelings for someone else. There have been some viable reasons that have been discussed as to why Hope feels the way she does.
DeleteOne of them being the fact that the entire foundation of Hope and Liam's marriage was built on Brooke's insistence that Liam was Hope's destiny. Even when Liam messed up (multiple times), Brooke always told Hope to forgive him and work on their marriage. Yes, Hope loves Liam but her being married to him and staying with him was mainly due to Brooke's insistence.
We also have to factor in that Hope and Thomas have been intertwined in each other's lives for many years. They have been through a lot together and they co-parent their son. Hope has seen Thomas at his worst and they have grown very close. Given the changes in Thomas, Hope is seeing him in a new light and it is attractive to her.
So to say that there is no basis for her feelings for him is untrue. There are definitely several causes for the feelings she has developed for Thomas.
And we also don't know how great Liam and Hope were doing. Appearance isn't everything. Lately, Hope has been laying out how she feels about Liam's past indiscretions and about how he treats her like she is still a teenager. Clearly, she has been suppressing all of these feelings for the sake of keeping their marriage together. Liam's mistrust of Thomas, and by extension, his mistrust of her, is bringing out her true feelings about all of it.
DeleteElle some people choose to believe that Brooke is the reason for Liam and Hope sticking together, some saw it started with Hope wanted and loved him and was supported by Brooke. If Hope had ever said I'm done with Liam, Brooke couldn't do much against it. Like when she married Wyatt. I think if Brooke's influence was so paramount for Hope and Liam it would have been directly thematized as such. Like Stephanie's for Ridge and Taylor.
DeleteAnd interesting how Liam's mistakes are something that should have torn them apart as per you, but the actual horror Thomas put her through is something that even fortified their relationship since it represents her "seeing him at his worst" - if I understand you correctly.
I can make the case that Hope and Liam forgave each other a lot of things and that fortified their bond and this love and capacity for forgiveness will always bring them back to each other. Plus they have a beautiful history of shared love from the moment they met.

DeleteIt is a matter of perspective and, for the most part, I agree with you about Lope and the trials they've been through which strengthened their relationship. It still doesn't take away from the fact that Hope suppressed her true feelings which we are seeing being revealed now, and which stands to impact them negatively. Think of a volcano that has been dormant for years and everything around it is quite normal and safe. It doesn't mean that that what's deep down inside the volcano does not have the potential to cause a mass eruption.
DeleteAnd concerning your comparison between Liam and Thomas, I guess the main difference is the fact that Liam and Hope were together and Liam's actions were a betrayal. So yes, the repetitiveness of his unfaithfulness and disloyalty should have made Hope walk away if not for Brooke in her ear. Hope and Thomas never had that kind of relationship so his changes are completely new, which is causing Hope to see him in a different light.
And btw, Brooke emulated Stephanie where wanting Liam for Hope was concerned. She would step to Taylor about Liam and Brooke belonging together. She stepped to Steffy telling her the same thing. She even planned a wedding for Hope and Liam without either of them knowing, just to ensure that Liam chose Hope. Stephanie never did that so I think that makes Brooke a little worse than her. 🤣
Still it doesn't change the fact that Hope wanted Liam and he was her main focus all these years. If Brooke's influence was so strong for the outcome of Hope and Liam, there would be at least mentioning of it by anybody actually ON the show. Brooke was helping Hope get what SHE always wanted while Stephanie was mostly fighting *against* what SHE didn't want (Brooke) and to hell with what Ridge actually wants (Brooke again). And that makes her much worse than Brooke. That's why her actions were thematized as such and not just part of speculations hidden in forums.

DeleteI'm seeing a lot of similarities in the T/R/B triangle and the T/H/L triangle. Back in the day, Ridge was committed to Taylor. He loved her more than anything and anyone and had a family with her. Brooke was always the one on the outside chasing after Ridge. She was "obsessed" with having him. Somewhere along the way, Ridge started developing real feelings for Brooke and, after Taylor left, their love grew and she became his destiny.

Who's to say that Liam wouldn't leave Hope after realizing how she feels about Thomas, which will then give them the chance to explore their feelings for each other with Hope realizing that Thomas is her destiny. It isn't outside the realm of possibility.
And if we add the mothers, as you previously brought up, Stephanie was totally against Brooke just like Brooke is totally against Thomas. Stephanie eventually accepted Brooke so, maybe Brooke will eventually accept Thomas.
Nothing is outside the realm of possibility. But Liam and Hope are like Brooke and Ridge. They will keep reuniting even if they break up. It's the most logical progression considering how the story was built. And for the record, in case anyone who hasn't watched the show from the beginning is reading, Ridge loved Brooke looong before Taylor. He didn't "develop feelings for her along the way", he had to let her go for his Dad that's why he pretended to cheat on her after they had that scare with Rick drowning and he thought they should be together as family. So actually he developed feelings "along the way" for Taylor rather than for Brooke who he has loved way before Taylor. Feelings which, alas, weren't so long-lived since he never really returned to her after she came back from the dead the second time.

When she died, he met Taylor and fell in love with her. Brooke wanted to marry him but he left her and went to find Taylor who he eventually married. Yes, he had an attraction toward Brooke but it wasn't some grand love. If it was, why did he marry Taylor instead of her? Why did he reject Brooke's advances time after time after time? Why did he pretend to be interested in her just to get the patent from her Belief formula? So yes, somewhere along the way, his feelings for Brooke became real. Lynn of course he was from the moment they met. But he was a playboy that's true. He wouldn't commit to her, married said Caroline, so Brooke married Eric (not her finest hour at all 😅). Then Caroline died, Taylor was her shrink (and his), he figured out he wanted Brooke. Brooke leaves Eric. Then Rick their baby almost drowns and Ridge witnesses their family moment. In the meantime playboy also starts a flirtation with Taylor. Ridge wants Brooke but realizes he should give her family with his dad a chance so jets off to the islands to convince Taylor to marry him. Two days ago, before said near drown accident, he was ready to move in with Brooke. So some argue that he actually married Taylor to cement his intention that Brooke must stay with Eric. I believe he did have feelings for Taylor loved her for sure. But only for some years.
DeleteI was very little when they aired those eps in my country so I'm missing some of the details. What I'm sure of is that he loved Brooke before Taylor, even got engaged to her at least once.
And either way, even if we do accept that he loved in the beginning Taylor more than Brooke, it doesn't really matter, because for 2 decades there has been nothing between Taylor and Ridge other than misunderstandings.
I didn't state that he loved Taylor more. I was simply saying that while he had an attraction for Brooke (or infatuation as Lynn put it), it was not some grand love. He treated Brooke horribly. Rejected her time and time again and used her for his own benefit. However, at some point, his love for her became very real. I believe that happened after the first time she died and he got involved with Brooke.

DeleteI read a write-up on the love triangle between Ridge, Brooke and Taylor and it said something about Taylor turning Ridge down or thinking about turning Ridge down for marriage because Taylor thought Ridge was only choosing her because Brooke wasn’t available (she had married Eric). I remember seeing a few of those episodes and wondered why she would marry old man Eric? I agree….not her finest hour.
I wish I could post pics on the blog. I found an old pic with Ridge in the middle and Brooke on one side and Taylor on the other. It’s Ron Moss with his shirt buttoned down to his navel and gold chains around his neck. And he’s wearing this wool scarf draped across his neck like a woman. He looks like a gay pimp in my opinion…or one of The Bee Gees (American band from the 70’s) 😂😂😂. The previous Ridge was even more arrogant than the current one. I was laughing at the pic! 😬😬😬

Even though he treated her horribly too and didn't put the needed distance between him and Brooke (which led to many humiliating moments for Taylor) and enjoyed Brooke's constant advances, he didn't cheat, made a family with Taylor and was coming home to her every night.
DeleteIt was a beautiful love for sure I enjoyed their story. Even when she came back from the dead the second time, it was good they tried once again. I remember very well Ridge returning from Paris after that missed New Years and promising very real and heartfelt promise that he realized she's his priority and their family. She should have kept quiet about James.

Lynn, I've never liked Ridge mainly due to Ronn Moss. Thornsten Kaye has softened the character somewhat so I can tolerate him a little more. However, he still has an arrogance about him in the way that he treats Taylor and Brooke. I'm not sure why so many wanted him for Brooke. I actually thought that people would have not wanted them together again after he raped her (another "did he or did he not" do it event). You will need to look at the scene for the sake of your own views. Oh well, there are some really die-hard Bridge fans out there that want them together in spite of everything.

The creators knew how to pull the strings of daytime destiny (plus, they split Brooke from Nick who was the other man I liked with her more and then of course my biggest unresolved pain - Bill 😅)

That's when I stopped caring about him. And TK even though a good actor just stutters awkwardly and can't finish a sentence 🤣😂 very unsexy.
M, I stick to liking the characters. I have never shipped a duo e.g. Bridge, Tridge, Steam, Lope. I love Steffy and Thomas. When things were good with Steffy and Liam, I supported them but once Liam started with his back and forth, I did not want that for Steffy. I also loved Still but once Bill went back to Katie, meh.

Thomas loves Hope and only her. He deserves someone who only has eyes for him, not someone who is conflicted and seems to be enjoying playing both sides. I hope she doesn't become the female version of Ridge!
Elle do you think she threw Thomas under the bus? I think she defended him and mentioned that the man Liam is trying to protect them from "doesn't exist". She is trying to keep her marriage together and we never see on soaps characters directly confessing to their s.o-s "yeah I do have feelings for X" - it usually becomes clear in a more dramatic way.
