Eric says no one will stop him with his last collection. Not even Ridge. Threaten to disinherit him if he gives you trouble. Ridge is hanging around to be in the top spot the minute it's available. He knows he can do it. He's proved he's good at hanging around the house all day every day. He can watch porn for 3 months straight and not see the light of day. Need more qualifications?

She could have said "of course I want time with my honey beaaaaar", but instead she was serious and right on point with "I want what Eric wants and that is to create his final collection". Eric should design for as long as he feels like it. He's an artist and not all non-artists can get it. Let the man be!
ReplyDeleteRidge is such a bast*rd. He was saying exactly that to Brooke - to go through Donna and convince Eric to give up, to "enjoy life" because in his arrogance can't imagine seeing himself as "trying to push Eric out". But it is exactly what he's doing, whether he wants to see it or not. It's one collection, jackass. You owe Eric at least that, to not stand in his way, after everything he's done for you and your kids.
Just like many other storylines, an overly exaggerated drama about basically nothing. I hope RJ has more central place in the storyline and not just the old guys.

Milla, I see tension on the horizon for Thomas & RJ. They’ve definitely dropped hints that that is on the horizon. Thomas LOVES being his dad’s golden boy. And I think the fact that RJ is getting design training from Eric is going to make Thomas very jealous.
DeleteThis past few episodes with Eric acting so out of character have been very odd. Yes, Ridge is an ass for sure. But Eric is going a bit too far with his new found anger toward Ridge. If Eric is leaving the show, I hope they don’t stay at odds with each other till the end.
Lynn yes I also believe that Thomas and RJ will be rivals. Everyone is putting a lot of faith in RJ and his capabilities and he's proving he's good!
DeleteEric certainly is showing the signs of aging and some condition like dementia. But the way Ridge is reacting to that is pure jackassery and desire to be on top. Did you see how he was talking that this is his company and it will happen as he wishes. I don't believe they will stay at odds, latest when it becomes clear that Eric has health issues, Ridge will wake up and realize that only an ungrateful basyard would stand in the way of the man's last collection and maybe even will help him.
I agree that Ridge is way out of line. Without Eric, there wouldn’t be a company. Ridge should be very grateful and respect the fact that Eric is still in charge. Now Brooke is getting pulled in, so let’s see how this plays out.

I also don't like it, Lynn, especially since it started without any actual reason. But for sure it will turn around and it will turn into a bonding moment between the generations and will be a successful collection. I wonder how Thomas would feel that Eric is pushing RJ and didn't even ask him to get involved.

Eric gave Ridge his name and is the only father he has ever had. While Ridge may have met Massimo Marone he was never a father to him. Biology isn't everything.
DeleteEric has always considered Ridge his son the same with all of Ridge's children and grandchildren. Eric is their grandfather and always will be.
Douglas isn't Hope's flesh and blood but she is his mother now. Caro will always be his first mummy but he can still have all the love and care of a mother's heart.
End of the day it is so stupid how people keep bringing up that Ridge isn't Eric's bio son. Ridge has worked for over 30 years at FC and longer since he started in the mail room/ shipping and receiving with Thorne and worked his way up. Eric always expected his children and grandchildren to earn their way in the company. Steffy has worked her entire adult life at Forrester and along with Ridge, has been Co-CEO for close to 10 years in soapy time. She and Thomas both started out in the mailroom too, they interned as teens and eventually trained and worked their way up in their respective positions. Thomas followed his father and grandfather in designing. RJ is catching the design blood too and he certainly gets that from Ridge.
The fact is Ridge grew up at Forrester, learning at Eric's knee and eventually by his side. He has earned his place there. It isn't a handout like Liam over at Spencer Pub.
Ridge has been very respectful to Eric. I completely disagree that he is being arrogant etc saying his 80 plus year old father has earned he right to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Eric hasn't had an active leadership role in Forrester in about a decade. He does go to the odd board meeting and does the odd design or helps out like he did with Zende and HFTF. However, he semi-retired to enjoy time with Quinn and then with Donna.
Eric is acting irrationally feeling persecuted and fighting to do a line when no one is actually trying to stop him! Ridge honestly told him he couldn't partner on a brand new line mid year through getting his Couture line out and with his responsibilities as CEO.
Starting a brand new line is more than just making designs and dresses there is so much that goes into it. Eric can certainly design a whole line and present it to be produced.
Eric is acting off, Ridge, Brooke even Donna, if you watched her face can see he is not acting like himself. He's searching for simple words in sentences, forgetting Hayes's name even though he was living with him and seeing him every day. The shaking is NOT an arthritis symptom. Something serious is going on with Eric and those that care about him can see it.
RJ isn't catching on to that which is a bit odd but maybe he just hasn't spent enough time with Eric to understand that. Eric is showing volatile outbursts that are not normal.
Anyway this is just a daft storyline.
Agreed BBFan. I don't think Ridge is being arrogant at all. He acknowledges that Eric has worked very hard over the years to build this company and just wants his dad to enjoy the fruit of his labor. Eric is acting very unreasonably and I think Brooke sees that. Stupid storyline anyway.
Delete👏👏👏 I posted a few times. Ridge is not being disrespectful to Eric. He told him he didn't have time to start another line right now., and wants his father at his age now to relax and enjoy what he has given everyone else through his hard work.(nice cars, suits, homes but Eric is taking all this to another level and I think miss understanding. He's paranoid everyone is against him and wants to put him to pasture. It's a little more than just arthritis.

DeleteI have to admit that I am losing interest in this show fast. I don't look at it everyday anymore hence why I am not posting. I was browsing the Internet yesterday and decided to see what was happening on this blog since I also haven't been here for some time. Not a lot to see here. Lol!

ReplyDeleteEric vs. Ridge. The lines have been drawn, or maybe that should be "sketched". It will make for a good storyline. The battle of the two generations. Whose side will everyone take? I think it could be resolved if the two of them just sat down and had a conversation. They could do the line together. If the collection is supposed to be 20 creations, each of them does 10. Even if each man doesn't like the other's designs, they still get to include their 10 choices. Eric is saying this is his last line. I think out of respect for what he created, and the years he has been committed to the company, Ridge should be willing to compromise and work with him. If after this line Eric doesn't step aside, maybe Ridge should, rather than battle with him.

ReplyDeleteRIDGE should respect Eric and let him to diceide when he is going to stop .I think Ridge and Thomas will opening their own company and it's look like Eric will give this company to EJ non experienc kid by designing 10 or even 100 design you were not become a designer 🤔 they acting like EJ already is a designer and be treat Thomas 😉
