DeleteSo the affair was with the head of surgery, Li was blamed, started losing shifts and her career stalled? Pls tell me there's more than that, she can't be that bitter. The falling out was when Finn was much younger and Luna was a kid.

Really powerful scenes with Eric and Donna ❤️❤️❤️ I feel so much for this guy. He was there from the first day of B&B and the show wouldn't have been the same without him. Now he has found a real partner in this woman. She is not fighting him, not trying to change him. She knows it won't help but would only cost him much more power, instead she is loving him and supporting him. I'm so glad they are together through this ❤️ And she's right that they need a second opinion when the first one is "no diagnksis"! She should still tell Ridge though. Otherwise he'll keep this "alpha dressmaker" attitude towards his dad. And then regret it. The more I think about it, the sillier this challenge seems as a concept. I mean do we put the money in one pocket or the other, it still goes to the same pants! They are not competing with another fashion house for this to mean financially or prestige-wise anything.
It seems Eric is over-spending. He decides to bring out a grand finale that has not been budgeted for AND is over-spending to boot. That's why there is concern. If he keeps it up, there might be no company for him to run.

DeleteI agree.. there has to be more to the story. It makes no sense and how Luna will be a threat to her or Finn because she is working at Forresters.
DeleteYes, I agree ladies.. it can’t just be that?? If it is, it’s not Luna’s fault that her mother did what she did.. Li keeps saying she won’t let her sister AND Luna ruin her life again?? Why is she keep attacking Luna if it’s just what her sister did?? Is she that bitter that she would take it out on a young girl?? Especially an innocent family member at that, if this is all it is??
DeleteColly I also find it hard to believe someone can be that bitter, but on the other hand it’s Li... She doesn’t always act fairly. Steffy had as much "fault" in Finn's shooting as Luna has with her mother, and Li still punished her by hiding him from her.
DeleteBut the fact that the father hasn’t been addressed at all by any side - Luna, Li, Poppy - means probably that he is important. I surely hope so.
Elle, having 2 collections instead of 1 for this ridiculous competition is by default overspending. No matter on which side. If they had worked together they would have found a way also together to keep cost lower.
DeleteThat's not how it works, M. Annual budgets are done to cover projected costs for the upcoming financial year. As such, one couture line would have been budgeted for, not 2. Ridge's line was already underway when Eric decided to bring out this other line out of the blue. Eric's line was not budgeted for. Despite that, he went along with it anyway even though Carter came to his house to let him know that they did not have money in the budget for his line. Eric did not listen and continued his line and started spending money on diamonds! That is over-spending. Especially for a line that was not even budgeted for. And let's not forget that the couture line is not the only line that FC caters to. There is the bedroom line, Intimates, HFTF etc. All of these lines would have been budgeted for already, which is why Carter, Ridge and Brooke had that discussion about possibly dropping one of those lines to accommodate Eric's.
DeleteEric is not thinking logically. He is making unwise business decisions which, I believe, is directly related to whatever his ailment is. The level-headed Eric would not make such decisions. This makes Ridge's stance on him and Steffy remaining as CEOs of FC plausible and, I would even say, necessary. Eric is in no condition to run FC anymore. Everyone can see it.
Yeah they own the firm and have the power to figure it out if they work together. It's how it works on this shows and has worked many times.
DeletePlus: If Ridge was that wise he wouldn't have let it come to that in the first place. He could have shared the collection or stepped aside to let Eric drive considering he made it clear he wants this to be his last one. It's not only about (very fictional and theoretical) finances but about humanity here.
DeleteAnd I have not that much insight into Steffy's qualifications as a CEO since she's only been shown saying "amazing" to some designs and holding papers. She could be good but I don't have evidence. Let her stay, I don't mind.
DeleteThis is a different storyline that is highlighting a different issue (Eric's illness). So I don't know that they could have just followed past storylines. I believe they are showing how Eric's illness is affecting his judgement. As such, it definitely isn't something that can be "worked out" like in previous storylines.
DeleteRegarding Ridge, he is totally confused about what is going on with Eric. He is not used to his dad lashing out and being determined to just work on a new line out of the blue. I don't fault Ridge at all. Eric needs to come clean and then, maybe, things can begin to work out.
Yes it's a different storyline and yes the reason is to show the development of Eric's illness. All I'm saying is that given past developments and similar conditions Ridge could have acted differently and this attitude is not the only possible one he could have taken considering finances and other factors.
DeleteI think also Ridge can't bring himself to consider sth may be wrong with Eric. If my dad starts acting like this I'd know sth is wrong and dig deeper. Yes those who know (Donna and RJ) should speak to Ridge and I'm sure his attitude will become quite different.
And just as a side note, Eric seems to have also forgotten that Ridge and Steffy are the majority shareholders of the company. He cannot just return to running FC just like that. The Board will have to make that decision and usually, the major shareholders are the ones who would be at the top.
DeleteThere is definitely concern on Ridge's part for his dad. I agree that Donna and RJ should bring Ridge into the loop, especially now that Eric's health is severely declining.

ReplyDeleteEric wanting to win this competition with Ridge is one thing, but then saying he wants to take over the company after that. That's taking it a bit too far. He's already having health problems. How would he be able to take over the company? So many people wish they could afford to live out their lives with a significant other relaxing, traveling, and spending time with family. Who wants to work until they die if they don't have to? Eric should enjoy his life without work and stress.
ReplyDeleteEven Donna thinks this competition is silly. She's right. Eric has already proven himself. But Eric is not thinking about what Donna wants, neither what's good for the company. He's only thinking about himself.
DeleteI don't think this is Eric only thinking about himself. He hasn't been acting right since the whole stapler incident. It's obviously whatever health issue is going on is becoming much more serious than anyone thought. He isn't in his right mindset, becoming more aggressive and people are starting to see that. I have said before I disagree with this whole Ridge being a jerk and having this alpha dressmaker attitude. It has been more confusion for Ridge right from the start of the stapler incident. He knows something is wrong or not right by his dads actions. Someone needs to fill him in and soon.
DeleteI think Eric has Cancer, of either the brain which has spread to the lungs, or the lungs that has spread to the brain.. but I think it started as brain cancer?? Which I think would have been picked up in his initial testing??.. surely they did a brain scan like an MRI, which would have showed a tumour.. I am not sure of any disorder like Parkinson’s or anything like that, that causes people to cough up blood? But knowing the writers and their lack of research into things, that’s probably more the case.. Lung cancer doesn’t cause the prior symptoms he experienced, so it must have spread to the brain.. Or if he is getting blood clots such as the TPI’s in his brain it could be that he is getting clots in his lungs as it gets worse?? But that amount of blood to be coughing up and for that long a period is not good, in any case..!! But he knows more than he is letting on and so does his doctor..

DeleteColly, I also agree that Eric's condition is much worse than he is letting on. This is why he is so adamant about finishing this line. He knows that he possibly does not have much time.
If Ridge had helped Eric with his line when Eric asked him instead of telling Eric to go play pickleball, Eric would have probably done his last line and they would not have had the silly competition. Instead, arrogant Ridge had to make Eric feel worthless. I don't see why Li is holding what her sister did to her against Luna. Luna was a child and couldn't help what her mother did. Li is a nut case.

And I hope we don’t have to hear anymore that Finn is Luna’s father. It’s been clear that he is too young to have fathered Luna. And per Li today, Finn was young boy when the affair happened between the surgeon and Poppy. Finn is NOT Luna’s father.
Lynn, how has it been “proven” that he is too young” to have fathered Luna?? How old is Finn?? No one actually knows how old he is!! But I am guessing that to become a surgeon, takes many years at University after college!! So I would be “guessing” he is at least late 30’s possibly early 40’s.. he could have easily fathered her in his late high school or college years!! She said she had not finished her education yet when she first came on camera and Eric asked her about her education and internship.. so she is around 18??

DeleteFinn wasn’t 18 when this happened because Li said he was probably too young to remember when she had to transfer to the other hospital due to the fallout from Poppy’s affair with the surgeon. If something like that happened when Finn was 18, he certainly would have been plenty old enough to remember the event of his mother losing her job. And are we to assume that Finn has never seen a pic of his Aunt Poppy?? I would imagine he has, and he would know if he slept with his aunt!! Lol.
If it was Finn who got his aunt pregnant and he was old enough to be having sex / knocking up his aunt, then he also would have been old enough to remember when this whole career ruining event happened to his mom, Li. But he knew nothing about it. And Li very much said he probably didn’t remember the hospital job change because he was so young.
I will agree that one of the things you said could be true, Luna could be only 18. It’s possible I suppose. But I’m guessing early 20’s. As I said in a prior comment, kids graduate at 17 or 18 from high school in the US…(depending on the month of their birthday.) Most kids in my HS graduating class were 18.
Lynn you're right. Finn obviously knows who Poppy is and him and Luna were visiting each other as younger kid/teen (Luna mentioned him showing her up on something when they met). How can he be her father ffs?! This theory is so outrageous that I can't even believe anyone is still entertaining it.

And I think that now Thomas has been long time so nice person and I don't think about his past because I have mental illness and I think it could be me 😁 I have panic and anxiety disorder so I can't harm anyone by purpouse. It is not an easy illness to deal with.. Especially panic attacks.. please take care of yourself sweetie, and don’t take anything that anyone says to you that is negative, or not nice to heart.. I know it’s easier said than done, but for your own benefit, it’s best to ignore anything that is negative, including what other people say to each other.. you can’t worry about what others say to each other because it will cause you more stress and anxiety and that can turn into other physical health problems which you don’t want to add to the issues you are already experiencing sweetheart!! You just be you and don’t worry about anyone else ok ❤️❤️❤️

DeleteFinn cannot be the father of Luna because he wouldn’t have to ask Li what is the problem with Her sister Poppy, he would know already. Seems to me it could still be his father Jack that screwed around on Li with her sister. That might make Li angry enough with both her sister and niece.

DeleteThis might be way out there, but what if Poppy is not Luna's biological mother? What if the surgeon's wife ended up having an affair with Finn years later to get back at her husband and Li's sister? Luna was the product of the affair but she did not want the baby and Poppy decided to raise Luna as her own. Way out there, I know.

Elle, then the surgeons wife must be Asian?? Finn doesn’t look Asian, Luna does, so perhaps if she was Asian, it could be a possibility!
