I think that’s exactly what he is doing Elle.. He would not leave Steffy alone at that party, of all parties, unless he was doing something majorly important.. As I said a week or so, I think Finn will give Eric, Steffy and everyone a Christmas miracle!! I bet Eric collapses at the party right as Finn has figured it all out, and he treats Eric at the hospital, and starts him on some sort of treatment that will either cure him, or extend his life for a very long time!!

DeleteI think Finn is definitely trying to see what can be done to prolong Eric's life however, I am not sure if it will prolong it for much longer than the 6 months he was previously given. Also, given Eric's stubborness, he might not want it either. He has already stated that he does not want to be in the hospital getting poked and prodded.
The show today was filled with awkward moments. I agree Elle. If Finn does find he was misdiagnosed and with treatment for whatever it is, they can prolong his life, Eric might not accept the medical treatment.

DeleteEric's decision to keep everyone out of the loop is a very unfair one. He's not thinking about his family at all.
There has been speculation for over a month that Finn was gonna find a cure or attempt to find a cure for Eric’s condition. I think most of us thought it was gonna happen. I’m actually surprised it’s taken this long!

Just a bit rundown.. too much happening.. got baby kittens that keep me and her mum willow up all night, been running back forth to my parents helping them out with their house, working, looking after the family, and still trying to get over this pneumonia , just exhausting, so I am really looking forward to Xmas!! 🤣🤣🤣

@Milla - Hysterical :-) Simply love your commentary... I agree though, I do believe a cure of sorts will be found for Eric, I've seen many reports that the actor has signed on for another 3 years with B&B, so I don't think this is the end for him, just yet. Although at his age, John McCook is simply remarkable! May he see many more years at B&B, if he so wishes.

ReplyDeleteSo Eric gave his approval to Hope and Thomas who are clearly a couple now. Anyone else hear her tell him, “I love you” just as Eric was walking over? She is very much acting the supportive partner to Thomas and they are not at all hiding that they are together. Anno I’ll get nasty comments but I had to say something.

I disagree. I don’t think Hope said “I love you” to Thomas. The words weren’t audible because the dialogue got cut into at that point.

I disagree Lynn. " not in his right mind" is a figure of speech. Yes he has been acting irrational and is coming to terms with his fate but I think what Eric said to Thomas and Hope came from his heart. Life is short, if you're happy, don't worry about what others think.

Also, if Hope said that to Thomas, his reaction would have been much different. Cuz he’s been DYING to hear those words from Hope!!! His reaction was not that of someone who just heard it for the first time from his dream girl.

People say that they love others for specific reasons all the time. I never took it to mean that they are lying about loving the person or people the said it to.
Elle, I just told one of my friends that I loved the top she was wearing. I also used the word “love” when I was talking about the dinner I had at my favorite restaurant last weekend. People tell their friends they love them all the time. But they aren’t “in love” with their friends.

If Hope ever utters the words….”I love you, Thomas” in a romantic setting…..Or she says…..“I have fallen in love with you, Thomas.”, then we can have this conversation again. But for now, the consensus is that Hope is not in love with Thomas. You even admitted that not too long ago in one of your comments.
Lynn, my hunch is that is where it is headed. I think the writers are just taking the Thope romance a bit more slowly than they usually do, because of the complicated history between them. But I have no doubt that Hope will soon be saying those very words: "I love you, Thomas," and "I've fallen in love with you." (And I'm all for it! I love those two!)
DeleteRen Chen, I am definitely not a Thope fan and I hope that Hope figures out the error of her ways well before those words ever come from her mouth. While I agree that Thomas has seemingly gotten his act together (for now), I will never support them in a relationship.

DeleteYes, as you rightfully said, Lynn, Hope is not in love with Thomas. That is not, or never have been, what we're talking about. So let's get that out of the way since we agree that Hope is not in love with Thomas.
DeleteMy point has always been that Hope has gone from saying to Thomas, "I'm not there yet, or never might be," "I may never be able to love another man the way I loved Liam," and "I need to hear you say that I'm the only one" to "I love you for loving me." It might not be romantic love just yet but it's a step toward the real thing.
Thomas and Hope are spending so much time together and he is showing her what a devoted love is. She'll get there. I have no doubt.
And btw, your examples of the use of the word love cannot be compared to Hope saying that she loves Thomas, while letting Liam know that the cabin is no longer his home. She also told him that Thomas is the man in her life now. And she has already admitted that she has feelings for Thomas. Brooke did too. So, of course you don't want to admit that Hope loves Thomas, even if it is platonic (which we both know it's not), but that's okay.
Elle, I totally agree with your assessment. Personally I find the slower pacing of the Thope romance to be refreshing, compared to the way B and B often rushes these things. (E.g. Katie and Thorne, Carter and Zoe, then Carter and Paris, where they have like one date and then fall in love and start planning an instant wedding.)

Right now is a very trying time for the entire family. And Hope is doing her best to be there for Thomas. And that was made clear when she said….”I got you.” I am not going to deny that Hope cares about Thomas. It’s clear that she does. But I don’t think she will ever commit herself to that 100% relationship or marriage to Thomas. I still think this ‘relationship’ will head south before anything like that ever happens.

If you don't think it's going to turn into anything more, then you haven't been paying attention. Hope told Liam that she is open to having a baby with Thomas. That should give you an idea about where Hope's head is at, which is a family with Thomas. She also instituted clear boundaries with Liam, telling him that this is not his home anymore and that he is going to have to accept that she's with Thomas now.
DeleteI remember pre-Thope breakup, you were saying day after day that whatever Hope is feeling for Thomas will not turn into anything because she loves her husband and will not throw her family away for a silly crush. Well, look how that turned out.
There you go again….twisting Hope’s words. She did not tell Liam she was open to having a baby with Thomas. Liam threw the statement out there in a snarky attack on Hope, and Hope’s response was…..”Well I’m certainly not going to have any more children with you, Liam.” Never once did Hope say the words…..Yes, my plan is to have children with Thomas.
DeleteAnd yeah, let’s look at “how that turned out” with regard to her marriage to Liam. Hope tried multiple times to save her marriage to Liam. She begged him on NUMEROUS OCCASIONS not to throw their marriage away over the Thomas kiss in Rome. But Liam shot her down time and time again. So Hope had no choice other than to finally give up! That’s not what she wanted. She wanted to save her marriage. She is now finally accepting of the fact that her marriage is over. But look how many times Liam had to reject her before she accepted it. As I’ve said 50 times, that’s not Hope “choosing Thomas” for the right reasons. That’s simply choosing Thomas because Liam rejected her.
So I continue to believe that Hope will come to her senses.
Lol Lynn. You are that much in denial? Liam and Hope were arguing about THOMAS from the moment he saw her in lingerie. He was aghast at the idea that she was "hooking up" with THOMAS to which she responded that she was open to anything, including having a baby as Liam suggested. Liam then asked if she and THOMAS were having safe sex and she told him it was none of his business. So this makes me curious, Lynn. Who do you think Hope was open to having a baby with?
DeleteAnd yes, Hope tried to save her marriage for all of a hot minute before she signed divorce papers (which Liam still has in his car, btw), then again after Beth's party when Liam tried to manipulate her into not being with Thomas. Yeah, she REALLY tried. Lol. But when Liam tried his mind games again recently, she shut him down and told him that the only relationship they had was a co-parenting one. She's with Thomas now and Liam has to accept that. A reunion with Liam was staring her in the face but she walked away from it and chose to be with Thomas. Liam is the one who can't seem to let go and move on.
It's as Ren Chen said, they're taking their time with Thope because their relationship is a complicated one given Thomas' past and Hope's former relationship with Liam. They'll come out on top - I have no doubt.
Elle, A “reunion with Liam” was never staring her in the face. Not once did Liam waiver or consider taking Hope back. So she was forced with the reality that her husband no longer wanted her. And she said as much more than once.
DeleteAnd we both know the only thing that “Liam can’t let go or move on from” is the idea of keeping Thomas and Hope apart. I didn’t see Liam as particularly controlling when he and Hope were happily married. But these days he’s nothing but controlling. And he’s determined to end that relationship.
It’s fine you think that Thomas and Hope will “come out on top.” And it’s fine that I think they’ll crash and burn. For now, they are both guesses and neither one of us know what the actual outcome will be.

When Liam said it to her….it looked like she had given the idea of more kids zero thought, and she was simply responding in a way that would burn Liam. She wasn’t going to let Liam get the best of her since he was acting like such a controlling ass.
