ReplyDeleteLol Taylor just keeps insisting on heart failure. Why isn't she listening to the doctor?! She never said it's "all in her head", she explained very well the weakening of the heart muscle and the need for treatment. Stop playing drama queen, Taylor.

If you've watched the show for years you'd know that Taylor was in a coma for years because of taking a bullet from Sheila, she saved Brooke but suffered a lot of damage to her health. It's natural that she was initially critical of the diagnosis because she knows her body and a broken heart is difficult to diagnose and has serious symptoms.
DeleteDodzia you repeat this about the bullet every episode, even if I hadn't watched it it's hard to miss here. But it has absolutely nothing to do with that I'm saying. All I'm saying is that Taylor should believe the doctors (that includes seeking a second opinion to be sure) but not dismiss the very well-explained diagnosis and storming off calling it bullshit.

DeleteTaylor's favourite phrase is: I am a psyciatrist! I know what i am talking about! So fed up listening to her say that. Yes, we know you're a psyciatrist! She doesn't want it to be broken heart syndrom because she thinks getting Ridge back will be so much harder, that he can't take it seriously, or anyone else for that matter. Which is why Ridge isn't allowed to tell anyone about it, especially this, cause she thinks it sounds stupid, that she, of all ppl, a world renowned psyciatrist should suffer from broken heart syndrom. She is embarrassed over it.

Lynn, you are right about Taylor. It always seemed to me that her announcing herself as dying was something that she got a weird charge out of. She also says she's a "doctor" so she knows what she's talking about. She's not a medical doc ffs.

Especially, as she herself said, psychology is her area of expertise. How can she not know that her symptoms related to emotional trauma?
DeleteAgree Elle, sometimes you know more about your body than what doctors say, no matter what tests they do or believe. She knows there is something wrong and won't accept the fact it's "BHS"(broken heart syndrome). I'm hoping there will be alot more to this. The writers have a good opportunity to make this SL suspenseful, dramatic with her needing a heart transplant and time is running out.

DeleteElle, I’m pretty sure she told Ridge it made her look weak and something else that resembled “I’m humiliated.” She was clearly embarrassed. It was absolutely a pride thing. She told Ridge she isn’t pining over him anymore. And he got that cocky smile on his face that he gets when he thinks every woman wants him. He is simply not the prize he thinks he is!
DeleteJ, maybe on some subconscious level, dying was easier. If she really is living with this broken heart, maybe life hasn’t felt worth living. Yes, she has her kids and grandkids who bring her joy, but she has spent so much time away from them over the years…maybe the loneliness has just become too much for her.
DeleteI think the idea of death gave her some sort of odd relief. She wouldn't need to be alone any longer. Or maybe this is way too far fetched. Lol.
Why does everyone, including Taylor herself, think it’s just to do with Ridge?? Yes, that may be part of it, but she also lost a child, which is the biggest heartbreak a woman could go through.. She also carried a child full term, gave birth to him, only to have the child taken away from her, because of the egg mix up and he being Brooke’s child.. Brooke took him and said she wanted to raise him, which she didn’t do anyway.. She was kidnapped and forced to marry prince Omar and lost Ridge Ridge and her family for years.. So I would not pin this on one single thing.. And of course she is struggling with this, I think anyone would, because the symptoms are so serious, and anyone would think there’s no way a syndrome like that could cause such serious implications on the body.. And it would be hard for ANY psychiatrist in particular to accept that diagnosis…

DeleteColly I think the reason they are doing this is to bridge the path between Ridge and Taylor, that's why making it all about Ridge. Btw I'll never understand why "baby Jack" is never mentioned, he was equally important to both Brooke and Taylor at some point, now neither of them remembers him.
But the doctor explained very well the physics behind that diagnosis and that it's not "just" about pining after a guy like a 16-y-old. Taylor should listen and understand that it's a serious thing that should be treated, while at the same time be grateful it's not lethal.
Lynn you're right. Taylor keeps insisting how full her life is and Steffy keeps repeating how they talk all the time. But it's not the same. Taylor was alone all this time that she was away and that's most of the time she's been a character on this show.

PS Colly I'm pretty sure if they had the same actors who experienced all that you listed, they would write it beautifully with memories and make a great storyline about all that Taylor has been through and how it affected her. But since they can't, they can't be bothered to even mention those things so they focus on the one factor that is there - Ridge.

DeleteMilla, I could be wrong but I did pick up a tiny sense of "yes, I'm with Ridge because I had no other choice" from Brooke. It wasn't just in her words but the way her expression changed as well. Or maybe it was a fleeting moment of reflection of what she lost (her friendship with Taylor) just to have Ridge back. Bill was coming on strong with "where is Ridge now? I'm sure he's with Taylor," and Brooke just goes on pretending like it doesn't bother her. Maybe it does and maybe (hopefully), she will finally see that Ridge is no prize. I do not want to see Ridge and Taylor back together. I would love to see Brooke voluntarily leave Ridge and be the one to help Taylor through her BHS. As I've said in the past, she is very good in these types of storylines.
DeleteElle it could be, even though Brooke always had the other choice - Bill, he even propositioned her exactly in that time when Ridge left her because of CPS. But maybe you're right in the sense that technically Brooke didn't *have* the choice of Bill because of Katie. Katie always said she's okay with them together (after their marriage ended and Brooke and Bill got together) but she never really was and Brooke doesn't want to risk it, that's why not allowing herself to feel what she can feel about Bill. That's another reason I want Katie to be with another man, so there's no grey area. I'm tired of them dangling Brooke and Bill before my eyes only for Brooke to say no yet again.
DeleteIt would be inspiring indeed for Brooke to help Taylor, but I can't imagine Ridge being single and Taylor not taking him. And I wouldn't blame her, I'm sure some shared love would help her. That would be another good reason for Brooke and Bill to be happy together without the Katie cloud over their heads. Then Ridge can leave Brooke alone and stay with Taylor.

Just for the record Psychiatrists are medical doctors that specialise in psychiatric disorders. Taylor was originally an oncologist! So she is a medical doctor!

ReplyDeleteThe loss of Phoebe. Shooting of Steffy. Kidnapping of Steffy, Steffy's addiction, her own addiction. Thomas in the hospital after the cliff push from HOGAN and later again with a brain problem.
That creates quite a lot of stress for a mother
You can be strong for years but eventually the line breaks. I think she's just in shock about the diagnosis and as a woman we ALL think we are strong and we can handle anything then it hits you like a ton a bricks because she wasn't as STRONG as she thought she was so she's NOT being a drama queen 🙄 Steffy and Liam have such a great friendship and co parent well together, at least he understands that Steffy is devoted to her husband and the two of them can remain friends and it's not illegal to laugh together 👏 😁
You're so right. Brad Bell favors his favorite KKL, even Brooke's house is actually Bell's house! That's why viewers who have recently been interested in the series don't know how vile this character is and how many people she has hurt, including her own daughter and sister. Taylor has been heartbroken since she took a bullet from Sheila while saving Bhrooke's life, which is how the myth of Bridge was created. But most fans of the classic, real Bold and the Beautiful don't accept this at all. :D

DeleteAgreed unknown. While I understand that Taylor should accept the diagnosis by someone who specializes in this area, at the same time, I understand why it's hard for her to believe.
DeleteIncidentally, when your heart has been damaged (such as with a heart attack or shooting), it never completely heals to how it was before the trauma. In addition to all you stated, unknown, let's not forget that Taylor was also under a lot of stress recently when she feared that she was going to go to prison for shooting Bill. So much has happened in her life that can cause stress so I do not blame her at all for not believing Dr. Grace's diagnosis. I hope she gets another opinion.
Unknown, I agree!! I didn’t see this comment before I commented above.. She has been to hell and back throughout her life, so many heartbreaking things that she has been through.. As you said too Elle, any stress on the heart can cause permanent damage, and so far all she has had is a blood test.. And for the record, I don’t think Taylor is being a drama queen at all.. She has just accepted that she is going to die, then gets told she has a syndrome that doesn’t sound like it could be real.. Her mind would be all over the place.. And of course, I wouldn’t want anyone to know I was suffering that.. Especially if I was a psychiatrist.. She is also only HUMAN!!

DeleteTaylor is acting completely normal. She saved the selfish Brooke by taking a bullet in the heart from Sheila for her, which allowed Brooke to break up her family, separate her from Ridge and her children. She knows how dangerous her heart is to her.

I think everyone is getting tired of the whole merry go round between Bill/Brooke/Katie, Brooke/Ridge/Bill, etc. At some point you have to get off the merry go round, or you get sick. Sorry, nothing else to say. It was a boring ep. today. I was hoping for more. Do have to say, I don't see any chemistry with Hope and Carter. She is going to use him to get over her fantasies with Finn. Here's hoping Carter sees her true colours, shuts her down fast and she will be heartbroken.

DeleteAgain Lynn, Hope did not say that she did not want to marry Thomas. She just did not want to do it right at that moment. It was too soon. When Thomas decided to leave, Hope realized just how much she loved Thomas and wanted a long-term commitment with him. She just did not want to be married at that point. Absolutely nothing is wrong with that and, it certainly does not mean that she did not want to commit to him.
DeleteColly, I believe that Hope started having feelings for Thomas long before trouble began in her marriage, and it is exactly what led to the demise of her marriage. She brought up Liam's back and forth with Steffy to justify her own cheating however, it does not mean that she was not tired of Liam's bs, especially since Thomas offered a life of stability and security.
DeleteSince Thomas left, Hope has been very lost and doesn't seem to know what she wants. She has always been so used to getting what she wanted in life that now that she has lost the 2 people she has been closest with, it's taking a toll on her mentally. That's why I keep saying that she needs to get professional help. A little therapy will do her well.
But Thomas even asked her to marry him again after coming back from Paris with Paris. After she turned him down he said he had done it to prove a point, but she didn't know that and we don't know that, either, maybe he was just saying that and would in fact have been ecstatic had she accepted.

Elle, I think Thomas was being too impatient and not listening to her.. And yes, she has been extremely lost since Thomas left.. Maybe he will come back and they have another chance.. But then again after the previews with Carter?? I think she really does need therapy as you said, and to maybe stay single for a while, and try to find herself before jumping into another relationship.. As you said , she is not used to not getting what she wants, and she doesn’t know how to handle that.. She is acting out, like a child would chuck a tantrum when they are told no!!

She had it all with him, everything she wanted in a man.. I don’t believe the past was why she said no, because she forgave him.. I think it was just too soon..
I also didn't get why Thomas was trying to rush things. They had been together for a couple of months and she wore his ring on a necklace, telling him she needed more time as she had just gotten out of a marriage. I am not sure she would have been willing to fully commit to him had he given her more time, but they might have had a chance. No one wants to be pushed into marriage.
DeleteColly, I also do not believe that Thomas' past had anything to do with Hope not wanting to marry him. It's as you said, it was too soon. Both Liam and Brooke kept bringing up Thomas' past to Hope and she shut them down every time and stayed with him. Even when the stuff with Emma came up, she believed that he had nothing to do with her death.
DeleteI am still hoping for Thomas to come and save Hope and that they can find their way back to each other. This is what some of the best relationships on B&B have endured. Tridge were separated due to Taylor being kidnapped, but eventually found their way back to each other. How many men has Brooke been with but she still managed to finally get her destiny. And look at all the stuff that Finn and Steffy have been through. I am really hoping that this separation is just a stumbling block for Thope and they will be back together soon.
And historically, Thope has the most complex, emotional and dynamic history of all the couples mentioned above.

I really hope they do bring them back together, they would be mad not to! No one at all wants Liam and Hope back!! She never had an issue with accepting Liam's proposal, never taking forever to be able to say I love you and never looking down in discomfort when he said it. In my country we have a saying that you can't hide a cough or love and I believe it's true. Thomas could have been more patient and waited for her to get over the barriers she had in her. Why rushing and pushing for a wedding? Or maybe he knew that she would never get there.

Milla, I think Hope never had an issue saying yes to Liam, because he was the love of her life during those times, and she battled with fighting Steffy for him, so whenever he waffled her way, she would snap him up while she could, before he waffled back the other way!! And they knew each other very well over decades!! Where as with Thomas, as Elle said it was much more complex, emotional, and dynamic.. It was a completely different and new relationship to any other she has had! She was in awe of the difference in being treated with such respect and allowed to be her true self, never questioned about her feelings, needs and wants.. it was unconditional and accepted how she was, being made to feel you are the only woman in the world.. She was out of her comfort zone, and discovering things about herself that she never did in the same old circle with Liam.. Think of it as like women who are victims of domestic violence, who no one understands why they stay, or keep going back, because it’s “familiar”, and over time they completely lose their own identity, so they take on the abusive man’s identity.. Hope is trying to find her true self, and get out of her comfort zone, and that’s what I saw the discomfort as.. It’s like women who have self confidence issues, and don’t know how to take a complement.. I think that Hope truly loved him, because she threw away her marriage and family for him.. She has never done that to Liam.. Even after Thomas left, she didn’t look back to Liam, for the first time in her life.. I think with more time, she would have got there! Who knows where the writers are going with her??
DeletePrior to Thomas, she would have had identity crisis, because she would have compared herself to Steffy because of Liam’s waffling, and that is seen even now comparing herself to Steffy.. And Liam and Brooke always wrapped her in cotton wool, told her how to act, what to think , what to do etc.. Thomas never did that.. That’s why he is the only one who gets her vision for HFTF… He knew and accepted her for who she truly was..
DeleteColly throwing away your marriage and family would never be something that I see as romantic or be happy someone did, especially considering how right before that Liam flew across the world to support her. My view of life and love is much more simple - if you feel strongly about someone and in your gut that they are right for you, there are no other arguments that come in play, you just go and be with them and commit. Hope didn't want that. You don't reject them time after time, especially when you see how much that destroys them every time. I'll never believe that Hope felt Thomas was the one for her the way she treated him (and btw I don't need any convincing that he loved her and in the last year treated her right, it's not about his treatment, it's about hers). But I'm not engaging anyone with my opinion ☺️

Decorate Il Gardino's for Halloween & allow the staff to wear restaurant appropriate costumes. FC needs to have a "Trick or Treat" fashion show using Brooke's Bedroom - "Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun". Taylor can dress up as a skeleton & take Kelly & Hayes trick or treating. Eric & Donna could "haunt" their mansion & have a Halloween costume party. Please let the Mr. & Mrs. Sharpe sneak in the party & scare the crap out of Steffy.
