DeleteHow is fashion in Deke's blood? His parents are Deacon and Becky Moore. I don't recall that Becky worked in fashion before she died of pancreatic cancer. I know she was married to C.J., the OG Sally Spectra's son. I'm asking you other viewers from the beginning to refresh my memory or agree that Deacon's statement is more poor writing.

Bill has turned Katie into Bill 2.0 😂 she's going to fall hard with Bill using her to destroy FC. Katie seems a little nervous!!! Oh Deacon, you Physco wife is way more unstable than Thomas. Crybaby Katie bossing Bill around...lol...Bill certainly isn't off the Brooke train 😂 why didn't Deke tell Katie he stole FC designs and changed them for his portfolio. Katie seems to forget, it's a family company, run by the FORESTER'S. I've never heard Katie EVER say it's her dream to own a fashion company..lol...
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if Eric is going to design a couture line ...the secret designer. But if Steffy See's them on the runway she will remember seeing her Grandfathers sketches at Forrester, because she commented on them as being quintessential Eric Forrester designs and she was impressed.

ReplyDeleteRidges ego is something else. All that talk will come bite him in the ass when Katie proves them all wrong, with Deke as her main designer, making the Forresters eat their words. People with money and something to prove can do amazing things. Katie will make it, she will knock their socks off!!
ReplyDeleteAnything can be in your blood, if you are passionate about something. He did go to designschool, so he loves it for sure. I know they say that someone has that and that in their blood because their family is known for such and such, but I think having something in your blood, means drive, means passion, it's all you want to do. It's in Deke's blood, for sure. He is driven and want to succeed. Forresters just didn't take the chance on him, which is gonna be their loss, mark my words. They aren't setting up this storyline this way to make Katie fail... no no... They want to bring back the rivalry between Forresters and another fashionhouse, like the Spectra days. I can't wait to see the fashion duels lol

DeleteSomeone said way above in a comment that Deke stole FC designs and made them his own. I never saw anything even close to that happening. Did I miss something? Deke’s designs were his own as far as I know.
Ridge is not only arrogant, he can be so incredibly clueless. Just because Katie isn’t a designer doesn’t mean the business will fail. That’s absurd! That’s why businesses hire good, talented people. I guess Ridge assumes that Thomas is the only designer in the world. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

DeleteThank you, Renee. If he would have stolen designs, I doubt he would have submitted them as his own to management at FC. Lol. I would think Ridge, Steffy or Hope would have noticed their designs had been replicated.

And, they chose Deke because of his fresh, new designs. Agree, that they would have noticed any replicated designs when they had the meeting where they were looking at all the design portfolios & deciding which new designer would be best for HFTF. Everyone thought Deke had the best portfolio!

DeleteI think they're referring to when Deke took photos of the other designers' portfolios who submitted designs. It showed a scene of Hope leaving the room after saying this pile of portfolios were people auditioning essentially and he took photos of the designs.
It's unknown, in my opinion, if he used them for references, inspiration, stole them, or just thought they were pretty and wanted pictures, like people do with flowers or butterflies.
I'm hoping he was honest with his portfolio. I'd hate for Katie to make it big and then have it come out that her lead designer stole designs, destroying her dreams.
Now that you mention it, I do remember Deke taking photos. I thought he was just excited to be working for FC & was preserving the memories. If Deke copied any of the portfolios, Brooke, Ridge, and/or Brooke should have noticed. In the meeting, they looked at Deke's portfolio last & seemed to think it was unique & new. There just doesn't seem to be any evidence that Deke had any ill intentions.
DeleteDani1392, I vaguely remember that as well. But like Renee said above, the Forrester clan would have noticed. I don’t remember him taking pics of the other designers portfolios who were trying out for the internship. I think he was taking pics of FC designs. But it’s fuzzy, so couldn’t say for sure. Thanks for the reminder.
DeleteI get the impression that Deke is a good and honest guy. But Luna seemed innocent too when she was first introduced. The writers have taken what seemed like perfectly good and moral characters and turned them into monsters. So who knows.

DeleteThe photos Deke took were actually of HFTF designs. Hope said she like elements of them but wanted a fresh take.
I believe they were for inspiration to give him a staring point.
Clearly what he created was different from anything else. He was going for Urban Chic which is light years away from the previous HFTF aesthetic.
I am looking forward to some good industrial espionage and runway rivalry! Some of the best episodes they ever had were the competition with Spectra and all the shenanigans!
Deke took photos of HFTF designs as well as the gowns hanging on the rail in the showroom. He changed them enough to not be noticeable. Taking photos of the designs in the first place as a "starting point" is cheating too, they were supposed to be his own designs, not "getting inspiration" off HFTF designs. So he had the upper hand compared to everyone else who presented their portfolio, that is stealing, no other way to put it. Strange, if he was THAT good how come he couldn't come up with a design good enough to go into production, not enough "inspiration" laying around perhaps. Don't trust him
DeleteIt’s bad form for sure, just like sneaking his designs in with established designers who were invited to make submissions. If he wasn’t Hope’s brother he wouldn’t even be there at all.

ReplyDeleteWhy are Steffy, Brooke and Ridge talking about Katie’s company so much, if they don’t believe it can be successful? They sound worried about the competition to me. Go Katie show them what you can do. Now call Sally and get her back on the show.
ReplyDeleteIf I were them I’d be concerned that Katie knows where all the bodies are buried lol! She cleaned up a lot of messes for them over the years and could unleash major scandal if she wanted to.

I didn’t like Brooke baiting with the comment about Deke. She was in the meeting and knew exactly why he wasn’t offered a contract.
If he hadn’t been Hope’s brother he wouldn’t even have had a temp job there.
Remember when Luna can along and they talked about how competitive the internship program etc is? He would have to start there at the very least.
Brooke is cross that he wasn’t handed a job just because he’s her daughter’s brother!
@RubyJo, well it's pretty obvious, they are shocked at how Katie has changed and turned against them, it's got nothing to do with them being worried about a new fashion house, there are millions of existing fashion houses who they don't seem bothered by. FC has been around for almost 40 years, they aren't scared of competition. They create one of a kind gowns in couture and Ridge is a damn good designer himself. Brooke is confused, all these years after her and Bill's affair Katie has still always defended Brooke, not matter what stunt she's pulled, she's trying to wrap her head around the change and the change is Bill, he is using Katie to try and destroy FC AND Bill still wants Brooke, it was pretty obvious on yesterday's episode. Katie is going to get hurt once again by Bill, she just never learns.

DeleteI just had to pause to comment. I'm a Brooke fan, but here she is at the Forrester round table saying her sister is involved in the theft of their family name. I'm seeing a repeat of when she supported Ridge over her own daughter. Brooke has been showing more loyalty to the Forresters more than her own family. Is she forgetting that the forresters disowned her when they thought she supported her own daughter. Everything is Ridge for her. The Forresters really shouldn't have control over your own name
