I think Zende was into Zoey but then realized that Carter doesn't deserve this and pulled back, then met Paris and realized that she was more free spirited and had better qualities than Zoey and fell for Paris instead. But Zoey needs to go she just so wrong for what she did she should have told Carter what happened.

If I were Carter I would wish somebody to tell me who I'm really about to marry. But they will let him and sooner or later Z&Z will land in bed together. Zende is a coward. He is also hedging his bets. He might have weaved and ducked out of Zoe's way but he did not tell her strongly enough that he does not desire her anymore. I wonder if Zoe became available would he have Paris with Zoe on the side?
Zande didn't tell Zoe to back off because he wants her. Only the ring stands between them. But I don't think that this will stop them in the future. Carter doent't know anything and his naivety is excusable but Paris knows everything. How stupid she has to be to believe in Zandes sudden interest in her? She is only a consolation prize as long as the real one is unavailable.
They keep adding bisexual and gay ppl to the cast to appease DUMBbell. That also goes for all the boys we have to look at shirtless way back to Pierson F, the one who played Thomas. Not to mention the Maya thing. DUMBbell is bisexual or gay himself. He's one of those that married and had kids to hide it. His wife lived in another country for how long? Years. And he brought on all these young boys. His fav right now is the shirtless Zende. Even though he has a dad bod I guess thats what DUMBbell is in to. Anyone can see the writing on the wall. He was asked where he got the idea of Maya from and he said something about being in an alley or a bad part in LA. Hmmm, why would DUMBbell be in a bad part of LA if he wasnt trolling. Think about it. There is no reason WE have had to or even want to look at shirtless boys. But DUMBbell thrives on it. To each his own. Anyways, again, why the hell would anyone want Zoe.
