DeleteI'm starting to think Eric lived vicariously through Ridge because he couldn't get Brooke himself. Now, he's desperate for Ridge to be back with Brooke because it's affecting him on some level, not being able to imagine himself in Ridge's place when he's with Brooke!
DeleteElle I do believe that is a real thing. I do believe parents live vicariously through their kids, especially as they get much older in life. I think it's realizing that they will soon be gone and they want to reflect their last years on their kids. Maybe Eric is thinking back to when he once loved Brooke and then lost her forever. And with probably not much time left, he wants his son to be with the "amazing" woman he once loved. It's kind of odd though, but not really, because most parents just want to see their kids happy. Eric has been around Taylor and Ridge and he has also been around Brooke and Ridge and he probably can see how much happier he is with Brooke than with Taylor. Eric is just being a concern parent.
DeleteAgree Elle, and I guess Donna was the next best thing, but still not enough for him. Only been watching about 5 mins. each day and then give up. If we have to hear the Logan sisters, and Eric, keep telling Ridge what he wants? The show gets boring and lose interest watching. If Ridge and Brooke have never worked their relationship out over 30+ yrs they never will. Its not destiny.
DeletePeggy yes, parents want the best for their children, but it's Eric's opion of Brooke to think that's what Ridge wants, and thats what will make him happy. But to say Ridge is happier with Brooke rather than Taylor? That's for Ridge to decide. Eric is becoming more than a concerned parent.

Peggy, that's exactly what I meant (you said it much better). The only reason I came to that conclusion is because Eric is beginning to sound extremely desperate about wanting Ridge back with Brooke. He lives in the house with Ridge and Taylor and has to see how happy they are together. They are always laughing and having fun. Ridge has told him over and over again that he is in love with Taylor, so I don't get why Eric still feels that Ridge should just leave the woman he is happy with to return to the woman who has constantly hurt him just because it's what Eric wants. I am seriously beginning to feel like there is more to it.

DeleteEric is really sounding desperate now, and hypocritical! It wasn't too long ago that he was telling Ridge that he and Brooke share a son together, and Ridge had to remind him that he shares children with Taylor too. Now, Ridge shouldn't be with Taylor for the children's sake because they are grown? Isn't he too old to be telling his 60-something year old son who to be with? I don't usually agree with Katie but when she said that Eric wants Ridge to be with Brooke, I had to agree. It seems it's all about what Eric wants.

Let Eric realize just how much his interference in his son's life is pushing him away. I really hope that Ridge and Brooke don't ever reunite so that Eric can get it through his thick skull that his son has moved on.
Is this why they brought Nick back? To play mischief maker? I honestly thought they were going to give Brooke a true chance at happiness. This is so disappointing. And why is everyone trying to tell other people how to feel? Eric and Ridge regarding Brooke, and now Sheila and Finn regarding Luna.

DeleteBBFan, I was truly looking forward to Nick and Brooke reconnecting and falling for each other again. I thought for sure he would have been able to whisk her away and help her get over Ridge. Unfortunately, he was just brought back as another prop for Bridge (as if there aren't already sufficient props).
DeleteSomeone said sometime ago that Nick was only going to be back for 1 week. Now, I am wishing that was true!
So i guess the storyline is Stephanie tried everything in her power to keep Ridge away from Brooke and now Eric is the one forcing Ridge and Brooke together. It didn't work out as well for Stephanie, not sure it will do the same for Eric. Any relationship that needs to be pushed on someone, does not seem like "Destiny" to me.

ReplyDeleteIf the writers want to claim that Ridge is so in love with Brooke and wants to sell us on that, then they should have not had Ridge curse Brookes daughter and call her a slut. They should also not have Ridge chase after Taylor when he thought Brooke had call CPS for Douglas. If Ridge is so in love with her, why doesn't he know Brooke would never do these things to him, why does he continue to easily walk out her life and hurt her. Hurting the person you claim to care about is not love.

Meanwhile, they do not care about how Taylor or their (Ridge and Taylor) children feel about it. It's pretty selfish and disgusting behaviour. They're no better than Luna who did not care one iota about the lives of Tom and Hollis. Whoever becomes collateral damage along the way to what they want, is of no concern to them.

Eric is right - Ridge just assumes that Brooke will always be there waiting in the wings for him! And we saw Ridge's face change in real-time as he realized she may actually move on and be out of his life for good! That was NOT a pleasing thought for Ridge!! Well Lynn as B& B is notorious for ..repeating story lines. I wonder how well ut will work out for Sheila, if Li has removed Luna from the hospital and is nursing her back to health. The major difference between Sheila and Luna is that Sheila doesn't ever mean to harm anyone. It always happened because she washed pushed into a corner and had no choice but to retaliate (except with Lauren Fenmore who she despised). Luna, otoh, wasn't depressed or struggling with some kind of inner turmoil. You seem to forget, Anniemae, that when Luna found out Tom was her father, she killed him because she did not approve of him being her father. Do you think that if Finn was a different person, a bum on the street, or some lowly person, that Luna would have wanted a relationship with him? She would have killed him the same way she killed Tom. Luna is more than a sociopath, she is a psychopath. She obsesses and premeditates what she is going to do to the object of her obsession.

Everybody sees it except Tayloop, they all know that Ridge can't be commited to her, he did that soooooooooooooooo many times, hiding in her panties because he was throwing a tantrum booohooohooo and then he regrets it and again, leaves Tayloop at the altar. It seems that she's enjoying this because here she goes again. I hope this time she'll hear him say to Brooke that he only loves her and want to be with her but Brooke has enough and decides to turn the page and be with Nick. Ridge will then go on with the wedding with Tayloop but this time, she'll be the one to say NO and leave him.... Ridge deserves to be kicked to the curb for good this time!!
