I don't think Sheila realizes the concept of 'hide in plain site' might not apply here, in steffy's house. Step one, get a disguise that looks exactly like you. 2) fool deacon with disguise. Having Thomas sign something while under the influence of a brain tumour is definitely a case for a diminished capacity case and there was most certainly duress involved as well with Brooke shoving papers in his face and demanding he sign it. If Thomas was in a bad place, why was his mother not there for him insisting that he get help instead of halfway around the country? She cannot professionally council him herself since he is family. I think the courts would have questions of why the family waited so long to bring this up.

Hope only took Douglas as a replacement for Beth! I remember her and Brooke crying about how unfair it was for Steffy to have children while Hope had none. Brooke drew up papers for Thomas to relinquish his rights and for Liam and Hope to adopt Douglas (which Liam refused to even consider and he was completely AGAINST Hope adopting Douglas!!!) and thrust them in Thomas’s face and ordered him to sign them!!!! Why pay for private adoption when one can just steal a child from his parent instead???
Hope made all manner of nasty comments and we had to watch endless whiny sessions with her and Brooke when Liam actually stepped up (his words) to be a father to Kelly after Finn “died”. Ridge had a vasectomy BEFORE Caroline got pregnant by Thomas. Ridge told Caroline he was "sterile" when she told him she was pregnant. TK said "sterile" as they do in Britain--NOT as a native of Los Angeles, which he's portraying!
Taylor acts like Thomas was held captive somewhere and couldn't get to Douglas. The reason Thomas has not been seeing Douglas is his own fault. Douglas was available to Thomas any time he wanted to see or take him to the Forrester's mansion. Thomas and Hope should both have 50/50 custody and Thomas should be supervised. Ridge and Taylor are the last ones to notice when their little monster is going off of the deep end. If it goes to court and Taylor says that Thomas was in a bad mental state when he signed adoption papers, the courts are going to want to know what kind of mental health that Thomas has received. If Taylor says that she was treating him, she will automatically lose her license because she is not allowed to treat family members as their psychiatrist. It is against the code of ethics. Hope could bring up the way Douglas was conceived, Taylor's instability when she shot Bill in the back and Thomas causing Emma's death because Emma was going to tell her that her baby was alive. Hope could tell how Thomas threatened anyone that was going to tell her, including his son. There is a good chance that Thomas will not get even 50/50 custody of until he has a full mental evaluation from someone other than Taylor.
And the way Brooke and Hope went about getting Thomas to sign over the rights will be deemed as unethical and Hope will also lose her status as Douglas' adoptive mother. Douglas will then belong to the State or, at the very least, be raised by people who are not his parents.
Hope would have issues doing all that. Caroline is dead so she’s not coming back.
Thomas has been seeing his son, he wants him to come home and be a family again and he has every right to do that! Shared custody as Taylor pointed out is just that! Hope has not let Douglas live with Thomas even part time, she unilaterally made all decisions for the child and actively interfered in Thomas’s parenting time. That is NoT how shared custody works. Not to mention there is NO court order so Hope cannot just decide that Douglas only loves with her.
FYI courts award custody to partners that abuse their spouses all the time if they have a nicer home, more money etc because “just because one abuses their spouse or partner doesn’t mean they cannot be a good parent…” Courts allow parents with substance abuse issues to have custody of their children time and again… I’ve seen a lot of ugly sad things in family law over the years… so Thomas having a tumour that caused serious behavioural and psychiatric issues in the PAST, would not prevent him from raising his son now.
End of the day, Hope wants Douglas to only ever live with her full stop!
Thomas has a right to raise his own son. If Hope is happy having sole physical custody of Douglas she has no right to say Thomas doesn’t!

Stephanie and Ridge tried to frame Nick for murder when Shane killed himself in Ridge's office, but they never paid. Stephanie tried to choke Brooke with a phone cord, kidnapped her and took her to Big Bear because Brooke was going to tell the truth about Shane committing suicide and Stephanie never paid. Taylor and Steffy keep throwing up Deacon, but Steffy slept with her father in law and shot an unarmed Sheila and Taylor shot Bill in the back which is worse than what Brooke did. The rich Forrester's never have to pay for any bad deeds.
@Joy: you have great memory!! Gosh the show used to be good. The Nick/Shane story was creepy but exciting. And you're right there's been so much real crime covered up and in comparison Brooke and her men has been disproportionally thematised. Especially by Steffy the brat who is yet to have a child whose paternity she is sure of. She did have a great chemistry with Bill though. That's what I mean with not getting overly fanatic - I admire different moments about different characters and can't imagine blindly hating or loving one or the other.

Amber didn’t do anything to deserve what brook did to her.. for those who haven’t seen it or have forgotten, brook set Amber up to be raped, not once, but twice.. and considering, brook was almost raped herself on the very first episode of the show, and Stephanie had the same issues with her as brook did with Amber, coming from a poor family, not wealthy, up and coming designer, who genuinely fell in love with Rick, that’s a pretty hard one to swallow.. so, yes, everyone is guilty of pretty rotten things I’d say??!!

What if Douglas was really there? Would Liam have forced him to go with him? Would he have dragged Douglas out of the house kicking and screaming? I don't know what Liam is thinking but Thomas was right. This is not about Douglas at all, it's about Thomas. Joy I am not sure how the laws work in the US, but in Australia, if someone is not sound of mind, they are not allowed to sign such important documents like that.. they have to have a power of attorney to act on their behalf.. because they underhandedly tricked Thomas, in Australia , if it went to court, hope would likely lose her rights to Douglas.. but I don’t know how it works over there?

I definitely see Thomas slipping back. The Thomas fans were looking the other way while Thomas daydreamed of himself kissing Hope. And for sure he was staring at her picture longingly. He couldn’t even deny it today when Liam asked him directly. Liam has every right to not trust Thomas!
Although he did show some signs of aggression already back then... I remember when he shot Rick (who kinda deserved it, right after the Phoebe accident, and after romanticizing their mom, he went on with Steffy - horrible), but from law-enforcement perspective it was another premeditated crime.
When did we see Thomas fantasizing about Hope? Was it Friday's show? Or Thursday? Anyway, on yesterday's show, Thomas was focused on Douglas. He asked Liam "do you think I love my son? Do you think my son loves me?" Thomas may still have feelings for Hope but his focus is still on Douglas. And even if he does still have feelings, he is trying very hard not to act on them and to respect Hope and her marriage to Liam. That is what has been shown thus far.
Personally, I think that the fact that they showed Thomas admit to Hope that she is the only woman for him then showing that he is trying not to become obsessed with her again, shows that he has changed and is trying not to be what he was before. His focus remains on Douglas. What I also see is that he can become someone that Hope can fall for when she sees the changes in him. She was quite willing to help him in the past when he had the tumour. I am certain she will be willing to help him again if he opens up to her about his struggle.
👏👏👏 Elle, I think the Thomas looking at the picture and reminiscing, may be to throw people off and , to think he is, in preparation for who ever is going to use that app Douglas downloaded.. and I think it’s going to be Douglas, or brook and Donna, to make it look that way, because of their conspiracy theory that Thomas is only doing this to get hope.. I really hope Thomas doesn’t go back there.. the writers r renounced for their laziness to come up with new story lines and dialogue.. it’s so much easier for them to go back and see when ratings were highest, then recycle the story line and cut and past the scripts.. we will just have to wait and see!!
At this point i feel like Liam is stirring up this side of Thomas he doesn't want. Do not poke a bear and act surprised when it attacks. Liam and Brooke are so consumed with this idea that they under attack so much so they believe other people are using Douglas, but it's become clear that they are the ones using Douglas. Also Taylor made a good point... Thomas signed those papers when he had that brain tumour issue (or whatever it was), so was he really in sound mind to make such a decision?

Step one, get a disguise that looks exactly like you. 2) fool deacon with disguise. Poor guy is too vain to wear glasses. 3) just "be" in someone's house handling their kid and don't expect them to be surprised. Oh well if she gets caught,she'll escape again anyway. Sheila doesn't have to sit in deacon's lap, this isn't the lean-to potting shed he was living in.

She cannot professionally council him herself since he is family. It would be against the code of ethics. Ridge was insisting at that time that Thomas was doing great and in a good state of mind. Ridge was carrying on that Brooke just didn't like him. I think the courts would have questions of why the family waited so long to bring this up.

Hope threw huge tantrums whenever Liam went to Steffy’s and spent time with Kelly. Hope was horrid to Kelly from the minute she was born because she was jealous that Liam’s wife had the nerve to have his child!!! Go back and watch the glares at a newborn, refusing to hold her etc. Watch how Hope had a go at Liam for being away from her precious Beth (never mind she dumped her into daycare the day after she came to live with them lol). Hope wanted to establish him as Douglas’s father instead of Thomas and went on and on about her perfect little family.
Steffy has begged Liam to spend more time with Kelly and reminded him that she needs him. She even mentioned she didn’t want Kelly to grow up feeling like she, Pheobe and Thomas did. Losing their father because Brooke didn’t want him around “Taylor’s children” instead he should he be with her children!

Hope only took Douglas as a replacement for Beth! I remember her and Brooke crying about how unfair it was for Steffy to have children while Hope had none. Brooke drew up papers for Thomas to relinquish his rights and for Liam and Hope to adopt Douglas (which Liam refused to even consider and he was completely AGAINST Hope adopting Douglas!!!) and thrust them in Thomas’s face and ordered him to sign them!!!! Why pay for private adoption when one can just steal a child from his parent instead???
Hope made all manner of nasty comments and we had to watch endless whiny sessions with her and Brooke when Liam actually stepped up (his words) to be a father to Kelly after Finn “died”. She wasn’t offering to have Kelly stay over with her dad or spend time with her wee sister Beth ( Hope likes to forget they are sisters) etc. When Steffy was in hospital her parents and the nanny took care of Kelly and Hayes.

Taylor acts like Thomas was held captive somewhere and couldn't get to Douglas. The reason Thomas has not been seeing Douglas is his own fault. Douglas was available to Thomas any time he wanted to see or take him to the Forrester's mansion. Thomas and Hope should both have 50/50 custody and Thomas should be supervised. Ridge and Taylor are the last ones to notice when their little monster is going off of the deep end. If it goes to court and Taylor says that Thomas was in a bad mental state when he signed adoption papers, the courts are going to want to know what kind of mental health that Thomas has received. If Taylor says that she was treating him, she will automatically lose her license because she is not allowed to treat family members as their psychiatrist. It is against the code of ethics. Hope could bring up the way Douglas was conceived, Taylor's instability when she shot Bill in the back and Thomas causing Emma's death because Emma was going to tell her that her baby was alive. Hope could tell how Thomas threatened anyone that was going to tell her, including his son. There is a good chance that Thomas will not get even 50/50 custody of until he has a full mental evaluation from someone other than Taylor.

DeleteThomas has been seeing his son, he wants him to come home and be a family again and he has every right to do that! Shared custody as Taylor pointed out is just that! Hope has not let Douglas live with Thomas even part time, she unilaterally made all decisions for the child and actively interfered in Thomas’s parenting time. That is NoT how shared custody works. Not to mention there is NO court order so Hope cannot just decide that Douglas only loves with her.
FYI courts award custody to partners that abuse their spouses all the time if they have a nicer home, more money etc because “just because one abuses their spouse or partner doesn’t mean they cannot be a good parent…” Courts allow parents with substance abuse issues to have custody of their children time and again… I’ve seen a lot of ugly sad things in family law over the years… so Thomas having a tumour that caused serious behavioural and psychiatric issues in the PAST, would not prevent him from raising his son now.
End of the day, Hope wants Douglas to only ever live with her full stop!
Thomas has a right to raise his own son. If Hope is happy having sole physical custody of Douglas she has no right to say Thomas doesn’t!
The Forrester's have the most to lose because both Thomas and Taylor could end up in jail. Thomas for chasing Emma to her death and Taylor for shooting Bill.

Brooke's past bad deeds from years ago are constantly thrown in her face by the Forrester's, but they never pay for anything that they do. Taylor was driving with revoked license and had been drinking when she ran over Darla, but she never paid. Thomas practically raped Caroline but never paid. Stephanie and Ridge tried to frame Nick for murder when Shane killed himself in Ridge's office, but they never paid. Stephanie tried to choke Brooke with a phone cord, kidnapped her and took her to Big Bear because Brooke was going to tell the truth about Shane committing suicide and Stephanie never paid. Taylor and Steffy keep throwing up Deacon, but Steffy slept with her father in law and shot an unarmed Sheila and Taylor shot Bill in the back which is worse than what Brooke did. The rich Forrester's never have to pay for any bad deeds.

And you're right there's been so much real crime covered up and in comparison Brooke and her men has been disproportionally thematised. Especially by Steffy the brat who is yet to have a child whose paternity she is sure of. She did have a great chemistry with Bill though. That's what I mean with not getting overly fanatic - I admire different moments about different characters and can't imagine blindly hating or loving one or the other.

DeleteAmber didn’t do anything to deserve what brook did to her.. for those who haven’t seen it or have forgotten, brook set Amber up to be raped, not once, but twice.. and considering, brook was almost raped herself on the very first episode of the show, and Stephanie had the same issues with her as brook did with Amber, coming from a poor family, not wealthy, up and coming designer, who genuinely fell in love with Rick, that’s a pretty hard one to swallow.. so, yes, everyone is guilty of pretty rotten things I’d say??!!
usually i sided with lame but in this ep i hated the guy ,,barging into the house uninvited and demand to get douglas back to his home when douglas isnot his son

the father would ve threatened for someone like lame that if he dont live the property or take his son away he is callin the cops cause a guy like lame has none legal rights to the boy
also i was expecting taylor to say to brook hope is not douglas mother caroline was you are not related to douglas either
its one thing to say stay away from my husband and another to demand the custody of a kid in which is is not related to

Delete@lostintimeline Not to mention, Liam is directly undermining Hope as Douglas' mother. Hope specifically told him that Thomas is not the problem, that Douglas is the one who wants to stay with his father yet, there goes Liam ignoring Hope completely and barging into Thomas' home to rip Douglas away and take him back to the cabin. What if Douglas was really there? Would Liam have forced him to go with him? Would he have dragged Douglas out of the house kicking and screaming? I don't know what Liam is thinking but Thomas was right. This is not about Douglas at all, it's about Thomas. If Liam thinks that Thomas is using Douglas to lure Hope in, then he should tell his wife that she cannot go over to the Forresters anymore.

Sorry, doesn’t work that way. You don’t just swoop in cuz it’s finally “convenient” for you now, Thomas. Truthfully, this is all about convenience for Thomas! His current lifestyle seemingly lends itself to being a full-time dad right now, but what happens in 2 months when it doesn’t??!!!

DeleteI was deeply disturbed by that kiss Deacon gave Sheila. He cannot be catching feelings for her!! Smh. How many times are we going to hear the same argument between Brook and Taylor? God I'm so over it. Brooke is acting crazy, Taylor is being an insufferable bitch, the whole storyline is just dragging on too damn long. I don't care where Douglas lives! When this story is over, we won't see him onscreen for months at a time, so who cares? Sheila needs to strike and make her move, whatever it is, and we need to move on to some new stories.
ReplyDeleteEven though I've seen his whole history and know what an idiot he is, Deacon still amazes me with the levels he can reach. Sorry for the actor, he's great, but the character is the worst on the show right now. There are plenty annoying people but someone as dumb is the most infuriating. "Hope is my whole world" and yet I'm keeping the psycho and don't even give a thought how this can develop.

DeleteJoy I am not sure how the laws work in the US, but in Australia, if someone is not sound of mind, they are not allowed to sign such important documents like that.. they have to have a power of attorney to act on their behalf.. because they underhandedly tricked Thomas, in Australia , if it went to court, hope would likely lose her rights to Douglas.. but I don’t know how it works over there?

Though I feel bad for him on the other hand :/ Unlike Sheila he is struggling. Always thought that if he had been treated properly... Back when the character emerged in 2004 I think as a teenager he was so sweet.
DeleteI definitely see Thomas slipping back. The Thomas fans were looking the other way while Thomas daydreamed of himself kissing Hope. And for sure he was staring at her picture longingly. He couldn’t even deny it today when Liam asked him directly. Liam has every right to not trust Thomas!

I remember when he shot Rick (who kinda deserved it, right after the Phoebe accident, and after romanticizing their mom, he went on with Steffy - horrible), but from law-enforcement perspective it was another premeditated crime.
DeleteWhen did we see Thomas fantasizing about Hope? Was it Friday's show? Or Thursday? Anyway, on yesterday's show, Thomas was focused on Douglas. He asked Liam "do you think I love my son? Do you think my son loves me?" Thomas may still have feelings for Hope but his focus is still on Douglas. And even if he does still have feelings, he is trying very hard not to act on them and to respect Hope and her marriage to Liam. That is what has been shown thus far.
DeletePersonally, I think that the fact that they showed Thomas admit to Hope that she is the only woman for him then showing that he is trying not to become obsessed with her again, shows that he has changed and is trying not to be what he was before. His focus remains on Douglas. What I also see is that he can become someone that Hope can fall for when she sees the changes in him. She was quite willing to help him in the past when he had the tumour. I am certain she will be willing to help him again if he opens up to her about his struggle.
👏👏👏 Elle, I think the Thomas looking at the picture and reminiscing, may be to throw people off and , to think he is, in preparation for who ever is going to use that app Douglas downloaded.. and I think it’s going to be Douglas, or brook and Donna, to make it look that way, because of their conspiracy theory that Thomas is only doing this to get hope.. I really hope Thomas doesn’t go back there.. the writers r renounced for their laziness to come up with new story lines and dialogue.. it’s so much easier for them to go back and see when ratings were highest, then recycle the story line and cut and past the scripts.. we will just have to wait and see!!
