Actually Hope told Thomas she is leaving to go home after she puts Thomas down for bed. That’s when Thomas starts to try to talk Hope out of leaving. Looks like you missed the last part of the show. She knows it’s time to go home to her HUSBAND! So on Monday we get to see what crap Thomas is gonna try to pull to keep her there. Oh and just to be clear in case all the FF’s have missed it - the only whores on the show right now are the FORRESTERS!!! Thomas is actively trying to break up Hope’s marriage to Liam. And Ridge is shacking up with Giggles while he and Brooke are STILL MARRIED! So the Forresters get the prize for slutty and deceitful behavior in current episodes. All the FF’s are desperate to try to point out Liam’s failings because they realize just how horribly their favs are acting right now!!! So we are seeing even more ‘whataboutisms’ than usual in the comments! So pathetic!!!

Milla, I agree he is a great actor. He is very natural in the way he talks, acts, etc.. Very talented for sure!! But personally, I can’t stand his character on the show. It’s OK that you have a bit of a Thomas crush…lol. He’s not a bad looking guy. Except for his beady eyes, as Maur pointed out. Lol. But hey, no one is perfect. 😬😬😬😬😬 Personally, I think Thomas is better looking with his facial hair….(goatee) than cleanly shaven. He looks a bit weird to me for some reason with no facial hair.
Totally true Lynn, I also miss his goatee 😀. I actually don't even have a crush, but a part of me just feels for him and all that he's been through (including health-wise), I just wanna give him a hug. I don’t think his doing the voice trick with Brooke is evil. She was trying to take his son from him and mislead everyone about the knife incident (which Brooke 💯% created to try and destroy Thomas) and her threats to call CPS gave him the idea.
It was unkind and shady, but not evil. Brooke trying to cut him out of his father’s life and his son’s life is ! She hates her step children, always has because she was jealous of their mother. It’s caused big problems in her marriage in the past.
That relationship is so toxic. End of the day, Ridge acted like a complete arse so he did Brooke a big favour. Even Hope can see her mum is much better off without Ridge.

@BBfan Earlier this week, except for the few LFs who don't post frequently, the blog was basically LF-free and things were so perfect here. We were able to disagree with the few LFs without any issues. And that shows me very clearly who the real bullies are.
What I have noticed, particularly on this (day's) blog, is that the LFs seem to be baiting us. We comment on the show and they attack us because we defend Thomas or bash Liam where before, the complaint was that the Booke hate was too strong or too much. But now it seems that anything we post, we are being attacked and, for the life of me, I don't understand why because at the end of the day, this is a fictional show. However, it seems we can't say anything without being attacked for it.
@Colly You are right, I only corrected Lynn because she loves to do the same to us when she herself is not perfect. I've resolved to not respond to the hate though because it seems the LFs thrive on it and I believe it is being done on purpose just to pick a fight and get a reaction out of us.

Admittance to why we are attacked. We are called arrogant because we point out aspects of the show that the LFs cannot refute. For the record Lynn, Liam asked Steffy how serious she and Finn were then referred to the photo of them together and said that it was a sign of what they were and what they could be again.
Also, getting tired of seeing words being misspelt means we are attacked. Being called out on our Brooke hate means we are attacked Lynn has made it a point to say that she will return the hate because of our Brooke hate even though Brooke is a fictional character that we hate. And when the hate continues to be leveled against us, at some point we would retaliate.
Earlier this week was the perfect example of how FFs and LFs can co-exist without the constant attacks. But as soon as certain LFs returned, the nonsense began again and was instigated by them.

Oh god 🙈 @Colly I was merely stating the fact that from what I saw when looking for older episodes, Lynn was pretty much a lone soldier (is that a thing? Or how do you say when someone is fighting a battle alone?). It's not about kindergarten or a competition, but pure numbers - one person against 3 (when I see constant writers here its you, Elle, BBFan and Lynn). Only when I started reading really and saw that even though Lynn was outnumbered, she still pointed out uncomfortable truths about the Forresters (born or self-proclaimed), called out the unjust hate to Brooke and the good things about her, this is when I also dared to write. You, Elle and BBFan are always supporting each other (and you should) and I'm just glad now there is such a group around Lynn.
Milla, I can say with all honesty that I like posting with you. You're objective and you don't attack the people who don't agree with you. It's refreshing. You will get frustrated but you don't go into attack mode. You were one of the posters on the blog earlier in the week where we were able to co-exist.

At some point Hilary made a comment in the thread in which she called out the FF’s. I saw the comment from Hilary after it was posted and still I did NOT reply or find it necessary to root her on. Flo was a waitress, and Zoe’s dad paid her $50,000, to pretend to be Beth’s mother.. which she did.. my comment was to point out the seriousness of Flo’s involvement, and why she was not in a hurry to come clean with the truth.. Because that is serious fraud and she was facing jail time, and was using the excuse that she didn’t come clean because of Thomas, but that was bs.. she didn’t come clean cause she committed a serious offence and was going to face jail and lose her hefty nest egg..
@Colly for sure Flo is not innocent she's just not around and active to be bearing the long-term consequences of what she did. Thomas is at the center and in a major storyline with Hope, plus his crime where Beth was concerned was also motivated by his obsession with Hope. So it's normal that when similar circumstances arise he is held accountable. If Flo was around and in a storyline with Hope (or Liam!) she would also get hers for sure! But I definitely remember Taylor getting involved and paying tons of money either to the doctor or to Flo... I think that was the last of HT storylines 💔

Taylor paid expenses (Flo didn’t have insurance for her supposed birth) to help the birth mother and all legal fees which is common practice for private adoptions.
As Colly said, Flo was forgiven, they had a big Logan week where we had the Logan family everyday going on about it then Flo was given whatever position at Forrester because she was a Logan. She was the golden girl after. We haven’t seen her because the actress has been very busy on other projects as has the actor playing Wyatt.
Zoe cried crocodile tears and all was forgiven and forgotten.
Flo was also forgiven die to the fact that she gave her kidney to Katie. So in some way she redeemed herself. Thomas on the other hand was violent in the whole Beth story - to Liam, to Douglas (abusive at least), nearly kidnapping Hope. So not really the same thing.

It flipped me out when Ridge told Thomas that his talent was in his DNA from his grandfather. Hello?? There is no DNA from Eric to Ridge or Thomas. Do the writers not even remember the background of their own characters and stories? Eric isn't Ridge's bio dad!!
The point of the comment in the dialogue was to say it was an inherited trait…so ‘it’s in the genes.’ But if they aren’t blood related, then there is no DNA connection, and you can’t pass on an inherited trait to an adopted child!! Kidd is 100% correct!
When I made the above comment about Ridge not really being Eric's son, it slipped my mind about why Hope nor Brooke has throwm it in Steffys face every time she talks about the real foresters being together, the real Forester family, when none of them are real foresters at all! Brooke's two kids with Eric are, but Ridge isn't, Thomas isn't, Douglas isn't, Steffys nor her kids are. I would have thrown that in her face so fast her head would have spun all the way off of her head!
@Kidd, sorry but your comment is ridiculous. Still maybe you forget that part they maybe not "real" Forrester as you said, but the money, the investment in the FC came from Stefany's father, Douglas, so the company is not real Forrester it rather be Douglas.
Kidd the topic of not being Forresters only mattered to them when it was about what they wanted (eg when Steffy was sleeping with uncle Rick and was all "Im a Marone, dad") since then they have embraced being Forrester and screaming "Forrester" louder than the actual Forresters. It's the way it is and nobody on the show "remembers" it. Maybe we will see the day when it changes if any of the real Forresters returns and is not afraid of being in Ridge's shadow anymore. Until then we will hear that crying Forrester no matter how annoying. To me it sometimes sounds like overcompensating even because none of the Forresters ever did it except in the rare cases Thorne was standing up to Ridge back in the 2000s. I miss him.
Miah, 💯 CORRECT.., if it’s going to go down that road, yes, Stephanie’s father Douglas, did give HER the money to start FC, and he had a secret WILL, that stopped Eric from ever being able to take the company from her, which he in fact did try to do... Then the woman, which was Katherine I think, from Y&R, but don’t quote me on that, but she came forward and told Stephanie that he made the WILL and Eric didn’t stand a chance of taking the company from her.. Eric, the sly dog, was hiding the WILL in a secret safe he had at FC, knowing Stephanie did not know about it, to which Stephanie then found, and she found the WILL in that safe.. So Eric was unsuccessful at slyly trying to take it out from under her.. Kathrine was asked by Stephanie’s father, to only tell Stephanie about it, if Eric tried to do it.. So really, in actual FACT, FC belongs to and has ALWAYS belonged to Stephanie, and Ridge, is Stephanie’s, eldest and first born son.. Not that that matters, because it belongs to all of Stephanie’s children, including Ridge!! Which then, in turn, makes Stephy and Thomas and little Douglas Heirs to it!! More so than Eric!! The company does NOT belong to Eric.. He was a designer and CEO, but NEVER an OWNER!!
Milla, I miss Thorne too, I really liked his character, and I hated he always walked in Ridges shadow.. Stephanie and Eric didn’t treat them as equals, and favoured Ridge, and I really hated that.. as you know, I have never been a Ridge fan, especially when it was Ron Moss.. Thorne was the sweetest most lovely man on the show.. He was like a Finn is now.. his personality is beautiful.. would love to see him back!!

@Colly I would love too!! I think the last Thorne actor was also quite good and gorgeous, although the long-running - Winsor Harmon - is the classic. The character also deserved so much better from the writers - to have both his wives and daughter die (and not be blessed with another child) was too fucking much. But it's not too late for him if he comes back and gets a younger wife 😎

@Colly In addition to not owning FC, Eric also has the least amount of shares in FC - only 12.5%. Before he married Donna, he actually owned 25% but lost half of it to Donna when they divorced. Donna then sold the shares to Bill who gave them back to Steffy as a gift. Ridge and Steffy own the most amount of shares between them.

@Miah Not to mention, when Douglas lived with Liam and Hope, Liam was quite fine with Thomas coming over to his home regularly. Zende should have received more credit. It annoys me how he's being tokenized on this show, and especially here in this show how he is "so grateful and inspired" by the white people (especially by Hope - what does she do exactly, besides talk platitudes?) 🤦🏻♀️ As in, look we're so cool and diverse. But if that was true they would really give him props for learning designing while coming from crazy different background (Africa), without growing up there, standing toe to toe with Thomas and designing beautifully, and they would even make him head designer for his own collection.
No one is side lining Zende. He was a photographer up until three or four years ago. With NO design training or experience. The fact he is even allowed to design at all is something. He may have talent, but IRL he would have at least to go to design school before he could intern there let alone work on a line! Thomas is the head designer and senior guy… he’s been shown mentoring Zende in the past. There is no racism at play here. In fact nepotism is the reason he’s being given a chance. He has talent and works hard and Thomas and Hope are actually helping him advance his career allowing him to work with them. So it’s right he says thank you. They acknowledged his hard work and Thomas especially made a point of saying how well he’s progressing as a designer! There was NOTHING negative there at all!!!
Oh please there is RAMPANT racism on this show (yeah I can use caps lock TOO). Not one main character is POC, they are mostly objectified (Carter) or have laughable roles (Paris) only serving to prop up white characters (her only purpose recently was to start gf style the "Hope is hot for Thomas" rumor). The creators had a chance with Zende but blew it. If there was equality and inclusivity he would have been propped up much faster considering how he is shown to develop. And in case you haven't noticed, how "experienced" a "designer" on this show is, is directly proportional to how much exposure they have. How will he be more senior if he's almost never shown?

I can't believe the word is thrown at a kid that came from the other end of the world, worked his way and proved himself (his mom and dad weren't also there to push him unlike all the other brats around) by a supporter of fake Forresters. Steffy had all the opportunities and like you said her credentials are questionable at best. All she does is say "amazing" 🤦🏻♀️
Miah, Liam actually went home after eating lunch and that`s where his father went to and then his MIL also came to him, so should he have locked himself in the cabin and ignored them? Why shouldn`t he have support while he is going through this? The only thing I will say about Liam is that he needs to stand his ground with Hope and refuse to allow Beth to go anywhere near Thomas. I don`t believe she is safe around him because he his evil knows no limits, he murdered Emma because he wanted to silence her, he abused his own child to try to shut him up and then was livid with him when he disclosed the truth about Beth. Of course he`s capable of causing this innocent little girl harm. As Bill said, with Thomas it`s a long term burn, he`s in this for the long haul. Bill is well aware that Thomass crazy knows no limits and so does Brooke. Thomas loathes Brooke because he just can`t hide his crazy from her, no matter how hard he tries. His own parents WON`T see it, although Steffy has an idea of what`s going on, hence her questioning his behaviour, but she has no control over his evilness.
Milla, Thomas and Steffy started in the mail room, and had to work their way up to where they are now.. Nothing was just handed to them on a silver platter, which the same can’t be said for Liam of the Logan’s… They had to work every position in the company, to fully understand the entire operations, from the ground up.. They also had to go to University for years, (off screen), to get degrees in Business Management, design etc.. They both worked very very hard to get to where they are now.. Zende has also had to do the same, because he is a Forrester.. It has nothing to do with where he came from.. He is being treated exactly the same way as Steffy and Thomas.. He had to actually apply for an internship at Forrester, which is how he met Paris.. He is now working through that internship under Thomas and Steffy’s guidance.. He is actually a lot further forward in the regard, he is a Forrester..
The same definately cannot be said for the Logan’s, or Liam.. Bill has handed everything to Liam on a silver platter.. He also favours Liam, because he loved Liam’s mother Kelly.. Wyatt is treated differently because his mother is Quinn.. Hope was given her line on a platter, because she was going down the wrong path , with drugs etc.. It was just “given” to her, to get her back on the straight and narrow..? Brooke also did not have to do anything for her Brooke’s bedroom line or perfume line or anything else for that matter.. Katie and Donna were given positions at FC, through default, because Brooke was married to Eric, then Ridge etc.. Plus, both Brooke and Katie, manipulated to gain control of FC, and take out from under the Forresters…Which is how Brooke got whatever she wanted and the rest of them, including her big flashy mansion, given to her as a gift from Ridge.. Brooke slept her way to the top.. Flo was just handed a position on a platter, because she donated a kidney to Katie.. Carter is the COO of FC, which is a pretty impressive position.. Paris at her age is running the Forrester Foundation.. So, with all that said I don’t think there is racism where Zende, Carter and Paris are concerned.. They had to work their way, just like Steffy and Thomas..
And Milla, I have seen them objectify Thomas and Finn , “a lot”, wyatt was also objectified alot when he had bigger story lines, and I ain’t complaining about any man half naked on this show, with the exception of Ridge hahaha!! I have seen Zende working out on the roof too, and the models on the run walk were all different race women, it was equal with the only exception of Petra, who looks Spanish to me… or maybe a biracial background.. I definitely don’t see racism.. Misogynistic, yes, but not racism..
Nobody is saying Steffy and Thomas didn't work. Thomas especially is shown to be talented and we all respect that. But it's been so long since Zende has been on the show - in the same time since Thomas was designing he was already much ahead, while Zende - due to his lesser exposure - is still just running besides them, his only lines are around Steffys obsession on her parents and "we are Forrester" platitudes. Both storyline-wise and in particular as a designer they could have made his character more significant if "time" was the only factor. But no. It's always Thomas and Steffy and Hope. And of course there is nothing wrong with showing half-naked men again IF there is more to the character. In both Carter and Zende's cases there is but far be it from the creators to waste precious minutes (out of the 19) on a black character development when it can be about Ridge's bratty spawn. The rant about the Logan's I won't even discuss it's boring and so so not the point #whataboutism
In any case, the only opinion that would truly matter regarding the absence or presence of racism would be of a POC, so I would like to know how one (or more) of them feels they are represented on this show and if they see the development and exposure of POC characters is justified and sufficient.
Milla, here is where I will blame the writers.. over the last decade, and particularly the last 5 or few years, they barely have any other characters on the show other than the Logan’s and Forrester’s.. So I don’t think it’s so much to do with race, rather, just extremely lazy team of writers.. But we might see a change soon?? I was shocked they actually did a fashion show.. when was the last time we saw that.. Rena Sofa left, because they gave her no new material.. So many actors disappeared, Shauna, Quinn.. And it’s now just a hand full of characters that are the main focus of the show, and all they do is repeat, rinse, repeat the same dialogue for a month or two.. But it was a pleasant surprise to get an actual fashion show, which is what this show is supposed to be about 🤣🤣🤣
Yes of course Colly it is up to the writers (and whoever is managing them or determining the direction of the show) what kind of characters we have. There is definitely progress recently, just there is also a lot of room for improvement too. And totally with you about the fashion show, I was also glad they FINALLY scrambled some ideas, extras and money for that one.
The former Zende had a lot airtime when he a Nicole were front and centre her fertility issues and the Rick and Mia thing. He and his wife split up over the baby thing.
I think they need to give airtime to other characters for sure. I don’t think it’s racist versus just plain lazy and cheap.
I didn’t like the whole Paris Zende thing because she treats him terribly and then swans back after chasing Carter. Zende deserves better. They have shown Zende quite a few times with sketches etc. If they got a good writing team in the us a lot they could do with the show.
I think in this day and age every platform, especially one with a big audience, is and should be about messages that fight racism and establish equality. When you prop up only white people for 35 years, the few months of Zende/Nicole time only confirm the ongoing problem, as after that it was also again white show only (with the exception of Carter's and Paris' tiny and mostly shameful storylines). The fact that they are "lazy" towards POC is itself racism because Thomas etc get plenty of storylines, happy relationships, children, success, encouragement, forgiveness...
Thomas hasn’t gotten one happy relationship!!! Zende has had multiple women fighting over him and he had the whole Zoe storyline. We had his photographer at Forrester storylines etc. I agree though the writers need to give more storylines to other characters other than Logans and Forresters or those who are Logan/Forrester adjacent 😂.
I miss the days when we had multiple arcs at once and loads of characters at once. Now it’s the same few people all the time.
A relationship is just one element of what I mentioned and again so not the point (plus being evil and a bit crazy is not something that helps Thomas in this regard). The problem with the racism on the show is so much bigger, starts with the (lack of) exposure, the development and storylines. It IS a problem of race and I believe any POC would agree.
Not sure if this was posted before because I did not read all of the comments but Milla, we had Rick (caucausian) marry a black American, self-proclaimed transvestite. I thought this storyline particularly was all-inclusive. We also had Thomas wanting to be with Paris. This spoke to having an inter-racial couple. Paris was not interested though.
I don't think the show's perceived racial bias is intentional. From inception, the main characters on the show belonged to the Forresters and the Logans so it's a given that the main storylines would surround them. Additionally, in the earlier years, we always had Brooke parading around in her underwear. Later on, when Steffy became older and had her Intimates line, she was also in underwear a lot, even though not as frequently as Brooke used to be. Back then, it could have been said that the women were being objectified however, I don't believe that was the case, it was just following the story. Both Brooke and Steffy had lingerie fashion lines and therefore modeled their own designs.
Lately, the focus has been more on the men. Carter, Finn and Thomas are all eye-candy for sure but I do not see it as racism. For the short time Carter and Quinn were together, they were both shown half-naked because that was basically all they did - have sex. Lol!
I think the fact that the show is just a half hour long, it does not leave much room for more families than the Forresters and Logans. Y&R is an hour long so they could easily have a black family to the forefront with storylines specific to them. B&B is just half hour which means they can't do a lot more than the 2 families they already have.

Blaming Thomas is convenient. Thomas was held prisoner for helping Liam, and for wanting Hope to know he was innocent. Thomas could have let Liam and Bill rot in prison. If he were truly evil, like we read daily here, he would have. Then he would have a constant place in Douglas, Hope and Beth’s life with Liam’s blessing!!!

I don’t think his doing the voice trick with Brooke is evil. She was trying to take his son from him and mislead everyone about the knife incident (which Brooke 💯% created to try and destroy Thomas) and her threats to call CPS gave him the idea.
It was unkind and shady, but not evil. Brooke trying to cut him out of his father’s life and his son’s life is ! She hates her step children, always has because she was jealous of their mother. It’s caused big problems in her marriage in the past.
That relationship is so toxic. End of the day, Ridge acted like a complete arse so he did Brooke a big favour. Even Hope can see her mum is much better off without Ridge.
I won’t be bullied into silence for stating my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. I’m sick of being verbally assaulted for daring to voice something that is proLogan.
I’ve said in the past, I liked Brooke at the beginning of B&B. That ended when she deliberately set out to destroy engagements, marriages etc. I lost all respect for her and then she just kept hurting so many people, justifying everything as following her heart or destiny 🤮🤮🤮.

Delete@BBfan Earlier this week, except for the few LFs who don't post frequently, the blog was basically LF-free and things were so perfect here. We were able to disagree with the few LFs without any issues. And that shows me very clearly who the real bullies are.

We comment on the show and they attack us because we defend Thomas or bash Liam where before, the complaint was that the Booke hate was too strong or too much. But now it seems that anything we post, we are being attacked and, for the life of me, I don't understand why because at the end of the day, this is a fictional show. However, it seems we can't say anything without being attacked for it.
@Colly You are right, I only corrected Lynn because she loves to do the same to us when she herself is not perfect. I've resolved to not respond to the hate though because it seems the LFs thrive on it and I believe it is being done on purpose just to pick a fight and get a reaction out of us.

Admittance to why we are attacked. We are called arrogant because we point out aspects of the show that the LFs cannot refute. For the record Lynn, Liam asked Steffy how serious she and Finn were then referred to the photo of them together and said that it was a sign of what they were and what they could be again.
Also, getting tired of seeing words being misspelt means we are attacked. Being called out on our Brooke hate means we are attacked Lynn has made it a point to say that she will return the hate because of our Brooke hate even though Brooke is a fictional character that we hate. And when the hate continues to be leveled against us, at some point we would retaliate.
Earlier this week was the perfect example of how FFs and LFs can co-exist without the constant attacks. But as soon as certain LFs returned, the nonsense began again and was instigated by them.

Delete@Colly I was merely stating the fact that from what I saw when looking for older episodes, Lynn was pretty much a lone soldier (is that a thing? Or how do you say when someone is fighting a battle alone?). It's not about kindergarten or a competition, but pure numbers - one person against 3 (when I see constant writers here its you, Elle, BBFan and Lynn). Only when I started reading really and saw that even though Lynn was outnumbered, she still pointed out uncomfortable truths about the Forresters (born or self-proclaimed), called out the unjust hate to Brooke and the good things about her, this is when I also dared to write. You, Elle and BBFan are always supporting each other (and you should) and I'm just glad now there is such a group around Lynn.

Then acts all surprised he wasn’t there… she stood up for Hope for all of 2 seconds before having a go at Thomas and Liam was the golden boy once again.
Hope is really hurt and angry with Liam, does he really think she wants to come home and pretend he was supporting her today? She knows it will be a flaming row about Thomas and wants to enjoy her evening just a wee bit longer. Who can blame her ???

It was lovely of Ridge to say that to Hope. He knows the pain she caused sleeping with Steffy’s husband and all the times her mum made him piggy in the middle demanding Ridge chose Hope over his own children. He saw all the hurt that caused.
Ridge was a good supportive father and grandfather today. I liked seeing how supportive the group at Eric’s was of Hope. She felt very appreciated. What a contrast it will be to go back to Maison Logan and be talked down to and undermined by Liam, Brooke and Bill.

Flo was a waitress, and Zoe’s dad paid her $50,000, to pretend to be Beth’s mother.. which she did.. my comment was to point out the seriousness of Flo’s involvement, and why she was not in a hurry to come clean with the truth.. Thomas is at the center and in a major storyline with Hope, plus his crime where Beth was concerned was also motivated by his obsession with Hope. So it's normal that when similar circumstances arise he is held accountable. If Flo was around and in a storyline with Hope (or Liam!) she would also get hers for sure!

DeleteKidd the topic of not being Forresters only mattered to them when it was about what they wanted (eg when Steffy was sleeping with uncle Rick and was all "Im a Marone, dad") since then they have embraced being Forrester and screaming "Forrester" louder than the actual Forresters. It's the way it is and nobody on the show "remembers" it. Maybe we will see the day when it changes if any of the real Forresters returns and is not afraid of being in Ridge's shadow anymore. Until then we will hear that crying Forrester no matter how annoying. To me it sometimes sounds like overcompensating even because none of the Forresters ever did it except in the rare cases Thorne was standing up to Ridge back in the 2000s. I miss him.

Delete@Colly In addition to not owning FC, Eric also has the least amount of shares in FC - only 12.5%. Before he married Donna, he actually owned 25% but lost half of it to Donna when they divorced. Donna then sold the shares to Bill who gave them back to Steffy as a gift. Ridge and Steffy own the most amount of shares between them.

ReplyDeleteNo one is side lining Zende. He was a photographer up until three or four years ago. With NO design training or experience. The fact he is even allowed to design at all is something. He may have talent, but IRL he would have at least to go to design school before he could intern there let alone work on a line! Thomas is the head designer and senior guy… he’s been shown mentoring Zende in the past. There is no racism at play here. In fact nepotism is the reason he’s being given a chance. He has talent and works hard and Thomas and Hope are actually helping him advance his career allowing him to work with them. So it’s right he says thank you. They acknowledged his hard work and Thomas especially made a point of saying how well he’s progressing as a designer! There was NOTHING negative there at all!!!

Not one main character is POC, they are mostly objectified (Carter) or have laughable roles (Paris) only serving to prop up white characters (her only purpose recently was to start gf style the "Hope is hot for Thomas" rumor). The creators had a chance with Zende but blew it. If there was equality and inclusivity he would have been propped up much faster considering how he is shown to develop. And in case you haven't noticed, how "experienced" a "designer" on this show is, is directly proportional to how much exposure they have. How will he be more senior if he's almost never shown?

Milla, Thomas and Steffy started in the mail room, and had to work their way up to where they are now.. Nothing was just handed to them on a silver platter, which the same can’t be said for Liam of the Logan’s… They had to work every position in the company, to fully understand the entire operations, from the ground up.. They also had to go to University for years, (off screen), to get degrees in Business Management, design etc.. They both worked very very hard to get to where they are now.. Zende has also had to do the same, because he is a Forrester.. It has nothing to do with where he came from.. He is being treated exactly the same way as Steffy and Thomas.. He had to actually apply for an internship at Forrester, which is how he met Paris.. He is now working through that internship under Thomas and Steffy’s guidance.. He is actually a lot further forward in the regard, he is a Forrester..

Paris at her age is running the Forrester Foundation.. So, with all that said I don’t think there is racism where Zende, Carter and Paris are concerned.. They had to work their way, just like Steffy and Thomas..

DeleteNobody is saying Steffy and Thomas didn't work. Thomas especially is shown to be talented and we all respect that. But it's been so long since Zende has been on the show - in the same time since Thomas was designing he was already much ahead, while Zende - due to his lesser exposure - is still just running besides them, his only lines are around Steffys obsession on her parents and "we are Forrester" platitudes. Both storyline-wise and in particular as a designer they could have made his character more significant if "time" was the only factor. But no. It's always Thomas and Steffy and Hope.

DeleteMilla, here is where I will blame the writers.. over the last decade, and particularly the last 5 or few years, they barely have any other characters on the show other than the Logan’s and Forrester’s.. So I don’t think it’s so much to do with race, rather, just extremely lazy team of writers.. But we might see a change soon?? I was shocked they actually did a fashion show.. when was the last time we saw that.. Rena Sofa left, because they gave her no new material.. So many actors disappeared, Shauna, Quinn.. And it’s now just a hand full of characters that are the main focus of the show, and all they do is repeat, rinse, repeat the same dialogue for a month or two.. But it was a pleasant surprise to get an actual fashion show, which is what this show is supposed to be about 🤣🤣🤣

DeleteI think in this day and age every platform, especially one with a big audience, is and should be about messages that fight racism and establish equality. When you prop up only white people for 35 years, the few months of Zende/Nicole time only confirm the ongoing problem, as after that it was also again white show only (with the exception of Carter's and Paris' tiny and mostly shameful storylines). The fact that they are "lazy" towards POC is itself racism because Thomas etc get plenty of storylines, happy relationships, children, success, encouragement, forgiveness...
Thomas hasn’t gotten one happy relationship!!! Zende has had multiple women fighting over him and he had the whole Zoe storyline. We had his photographer at Forrester storylines etc. I agree though the writers need to give more storylines to other characters other than Logans and Forresters or those who are Logan/Forrester adjacent 😂.

A relationship is just one element of what I mentioned and again so not the point (plus being evil and a bit crazy is not something that helps Thomas in this regard). I thought this storyline particularly was all-inclusive. We also had Thomas wanting to be with Paris. This spoke to having an inter-racial couple. Paris was not interested though.
I don't think the show's perceived racial bias is intentional. From inception, the main characters on the show belonged to the Forresters and the Logans so it's a given that the main storylines would surround them. Additionally, in the earlier years, we always had Brooke parading around in her underwear. Later on, when Steffy became older and had her Intimates line, she was also in underwear a lot, even though not as frequently as Brooke used to be. Back then, it could have been said that the women were being objectified however, I don't believe that was the case, it was just following the story. Both Brooke and Steffy had lingerie fashion lines and therefore modeled their own designs.
Lately, the focus has been more on the men. Carter, Finn and Thomas are all eye-candy for sure but I do not see it as racism. For the short time Carter and Quinn were together, they were both shown half-naked because that was basically all they did - have sex. Lol!
I think the fact that the show is just a half hour long, it does not leave much room for more families than the Forresters and Logans. Y&R is an hour long so they could easily have a black family to the forefront with storylines specific to them. B&B is just half hour which means they can't do a lot more than the 2 families they already have.
Is it just me, or is Kelly a new kid and not the one who was acting when Finn came back? She has lighter hair and seemed younger.

ReplyDeleteLame's "problems" are fully self-inflicted but all he can do is point the finger at Thomas who thus far has done NOTHING to get Hope... And Hope according to them is not a grown woman but lobotomized. Funny Bill, Broke's lapdog, is talking about T's "crimes" - I remember Bill and Lame serving jail time not too long ago? And they're only out because of T. Apparently Lame thinks it's okay for Thomas to take care of Beth, Hope, Douglas when he's behind bars but suddenly he's too "dangerous" for Hope to be around at work. Oookay. The only thing he should be worried about is that even his doormat wife is getting sick of his insecure whining so she'd rather be anywhere else but there. One second Bill is saying Lame needs to "do something" but before that he excuses Lame not being at the fashion show because of Thomas and Hope hugging ... contradictory much? I hate these three people I wish they would all be written off the show.
