  1. They have all the money in the world, the usual problem is lack of money. Ridge wants that ownership and this way he gets it by pretending he cares about putting him through too much. No one buys that or wants to let Eric go. Sheer greed on Ridge's part. What is all that money for THAT ERIC EARNNED? Surely any method should be tried to save him. Maybe Finn can get around it somehow and Ridge the perverted Bill & Sheila sex watcher, has the say? Override him Finn! Ridge looks like he's counting up the loot right now. Greedy perverted creep. He's going to go see his dad. Probably to pull the plug himself.

    1. Ridge's promise he wouldn't prolong Eric's life was just a convenient way for him to get rid of Eric. If Ridge doesn't kill Eric off, Eric may marry Donna and a huge power shift may ensue. Ridge doesn't want to give up total power and money. They could try Finn's work and if it fails, pull the plug at THAT point. Not now! Ridge is determined that Eric die now.

    2. That's sick he's doing what his dad asked..money can't always save you. Eric didn't want to live with a diminished quality of life and did not want to be experimented on..he is honoring his dad..every person in this world deserves to have their final wishes upheld..anyone who goes against someone's final wishes is selfish trash

    3. Completely wrong. Ridge is enacting his legal time as medical power of attorney correctly. The role legally is to abide for the wishes of the person who can’t speak for themselves. That is exactly what Ridge is doing. Eric didn’t want any heroic measure, hospitals, treatments, doctors or healthcare providers involved. He kept telling Donna and then Katie as well.
The soap writers actually got something correct this time as far as how this works for medical power of attorney as what that persons role is suppose to do. Carry out the wishes of the person (Eric); not what the family wants.

    4. Big fan you're so right and it's the worst position to be in. Been there, and I'm not a big Ridge fan on the show but felt his pain today, but also see where Donna's coming from. Just really wish they would move this SL on and don't drag it out over the next month. ☹️ it's not worth watching

    5. Big fan, I wonder if Eric knew that there was an experimental treatment available for him if he would have opted to try it. Eric was told that there was no hope for him so I can understand him wanting to enjoy the time he had left instead of lying in the hospital being treated. I remember Eric crying to Donna telling her that he was scared. I wonder if Eric was making peace and trying to come to terms with his situation. If there was hope, I wonder if Eric would have reacted differently.

    7. I don't think it has got anything to do with money, Ridge taking over the company, or whatever. But a genuine response to what Eric requested. I don't think Donna deserves anything this time around as she had already got her "cut" from the Forrester patriarch. I don't think it would be quite right.
Do what you have to Ridge. I don't think it will be out of greed or whatever.

    8. Joy I thought the same thing. I believe Eric would want to try because he's just not ready to die. He wants to keep living and creating and loving Donna and his family. I hope her regains consciousness and they ask him?

      Delete
    9. Indeed milla and joy
Eric does not know that there is hope
But sure although everyone else including steffy zande Thomas want eric to be saved
But yeah donna and brook are the only ones we see called out selfish
      Just typical

    10. Eric was not told that there was no hope for him. He was told that he had 6 months to live based on the diagnosis he was given by one doctor. That's why Donna and Katie wanted him to get another opinion however, Eric did not want that. I think deep down, Eric told himself it was his time and he just wanted to leave in peace with one (or 2) final collection under his belt. He was very adamant that he did not want to be in a hospital being poked and prodded, whether it was for the diagnosis he was given or for some other possible diagnosis.

Donna was quick to tell Ridge "If you loved..." Well, if she really loved Eric, she would honor a dying man's wishes.

    11. Still its only applies to donna

    12. Let's see if Eric actually gets to know there is a treatment and gets to say if he wants them to try it. All else are speculations about what He wants.

      Delete
    13. There are no speculations. Eric was very clear about what he wanted. We have been speaking about it for weeks and saying how selfish he was being. We have seen both Donna and Katie try to get him to get a second opinion and he refused because, as he said, he did not want to be laying in a hospital bed getting poked and prodded. He was totally against it.

I don't understand why all of a sudden, there is just speculation as if somehow, knowing about an experimental treatment that has 0 guarantee of success, where he will have to undergo poking and prodding will make Eric change his mind. The man is old. How many more years of life can this or any other treatment give him?

      Delete
    14. Mmysh, I'm confused. What only applies to Donna?

      Delete
    15. Donna and brook being the only ones selfish here for debating with ridge to go with the treatment finn is offering
Although everyone one else wants eric to fight and last episode steffy was debating with her father too

      Delete
    16. The problem with Ridge is he is doing this for a second time. When Eric was poisoned accidentally by Pam Ridge did pull the plug on Eric. It is a pattern with him. Once again not all of Eric's children are there and Ridge does what Ridge thinks it's right. He is obsessed with leading the company now. It is inevitable Eric will open his eyes and will fight. Ridge was remembering something Eric told him some time ago when he was healthy. Since he got sick and Ridge learned that his father is not well he was obssessed to not tell him that he knows he is sick. Ridge was also the one who did not come back when his own mother was dying. So I think there is no possibility for Ridge to have the power of attorney. All of Eric's children have to be in there not only Ridge.

    18. Elle I don’t see anyone on this thread attacking Donna and Brooke’s name has not even been mentioned?? So?? I think it’s just a “can’t help myself” situation, once again.. just have to have a dig, that sort of common theme!!

      Delete
    19. Aren’t you both ladies agreed with roasem that ridge is right and donna is selfish for asking him to go with the treatment πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”
I guess colly the “can’t help myself “ applies to you πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    1. I am so sorry for your loss Wings, this story line is affecting many people in your position, and it was cruel of the writers to do this sl right on Christmas.. Christmas is the hardest time other than birthdays and anniversaries for people who have lost someone.. my heart goes out to you love..❤️πŸ™

  3. Everything Ridge said is true.. He made a promise to his father, one he knew Donna and everyone else wouldn’t be strong enough to keep.. This is why he appointed Ridge medical power of attorney..

    1. So true. He did what Eric wanted. He's not selfish or thinking about having the company from Eric. He surely loves his dad

      Delete
    2. Patologi 100% he is broken hearted and honoring his dads final wishes and not letting them experiment on him to possibly and more than likely leaving him with a worse quality of life..anyone saying otherwise has no compassion and or are just ridge haters

  4. It’s sounds like Eric has Leukemia, that has spread to organs.. That’s why they clean the blood, because it’s a cancer of the blood.. It obviously spread to the lungs and severely damaged one of them to the point it is irreparable…?

  5. Ridge does not need Eric gone for money or for shares in the company or control of it. ridge, Steffy and Thomas own 62 and a 1/2 % of the company. He gave his dad back the office. And if they wanted to trump him they could. He doesn't want his dad to suffer. His dad asked him when it came time to let him go. . as much as I would want my family member to stick around. I would not go against their final wishes. That is their life and their final wishes. And if any of you would go against your family's final wishes, that is sad.. ridges looking out for his dad and what he wanted. The rest of you who are trying to talk bad about him about it is just your pettiness..no compassion..disgusting.

  6. Why did Thomas and Hope and Zende and Carter go to the office in their fancy clothes? They're not getting any work done, for obvious reasons. And where are Bridget and Thorne?

    1. Speaking of Thomas and Hope, the way she is so supportive of and caring about him. I love seeing them together!

    2. I was literally thinking the same thing like, we're waiting, in gowns and tux, we may as well go to the office? πŸ˜… they could have gone home to change and returned to Eric's in that same amount of time.

    3. I agree Elle, Hope was very “loving” towards Thomas..

  7. Tough spot to be in to have to make that decision. At first I was on Donna's side. But Eric made it clear to Ridge that he wanted to die naturally when that time comes. Eric placed Ridge in that position to make that decision. Not her. Eric has known he was dying. He's had time to give Donna that power of attorney, if he wanted to. Or he could have married her, then she would legally make the decision. But Eric didn't marry her. She needs to respect and accept Ridge's decision, and not imply that he doesn't love his father. That's not fair. ☹

    ReplyDelete
  8. I can see both points of view. The idea of losing the man she loves more than anything is killing Donna. Same with Steffy, she wants her grandfather to stay on this earth for as long as possible.
But I also see it from Ridge’s perspective. It is hard for Ridge to make this decision, but he is better able to put his emotions aside because he’s remembering what Eric told him. It’s just a horrible position to be in whether you’re Donna or Ridge.
I was actuallly surprised that Brooke defended Ridge. Donna didn’t seem happy with that.
I think the ones who are at the hospital should be telling the ones who aren’t there to make a beeline to see Eric to say their goodbyes before Ridge pulls the plug.

Colly, since we don’t address each other directly - I am saying it here on my comment….i think your diagnosis of what is killing Eric makes sense. And the “transplant” simply refers to giving Eric all new blood.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Lynn Ridge said “cut him open, then clean his blood” , so I think maybe maybe there is an organ donation involved? To clean the blood, he would be hooked up to a machine than pulls the blood out of his body and it goes through specially designed machine that filters the and cleans the blood and then pumps it back into him.. The body only has a certain amount of litres in it, and the body can’t lose more than a certain amount of blood at one time.. So unless this new cutting edge treatment requires all the blood taken out at once, filtered then placed back in? But from a biological point of view, I can’t see how that would be possible, without killing the person??

      Delete
    2. Leukaemia is cancer of the blood, and can as it gets worse can affect organs, hence the issues in his brain and lungs coughing up blood.. Blood goes through every part of the body , including all major organs.. we even have tiny minute veins through our living skin , hence a paper cut will make us bleed.. blood Carrie’s oxygen and many other things like white cells, that fight the cancer where ever it is, so it passes through every part of the body.. does that make sense??

      Delete
    3. Colly, it does make sense. I really do think you’re onto something with your speculation on his diagnosis. I don’t know exactly how the blood cleaning thing or getting new donor blood would work. But yes, like you said…..it’s not like they can drain all the blood from his body and then replace it. That definitely doesn’t work.
If Eric does survive this, we may never be told his exact condition. I can see the writers doing something like that.
Your leukemia guess is definitely a logical one. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

      Delete
    4. They do the blood cleaning all the time
      Its not difficult or impossible
      Its a machine
The blood go through it and return to the body
Nothing like draining the blood from the body
They do it in some heart operations
And leukemia they do Bone marrow transplant and most of the time it’s curable when its in the first stages

      Delete
    5. Correct, but if Eric has been given six months to live and told nothing they can do then it’s way too far gone.. So filtering the blood is not enough..

      Delete
    6. Also Lynn, I think the reason the writers are not saying exactly what condition it is, is firstly, to keep us guessing, secondly, in case they try to point in a particular direction and because they are too lazy to thoroughly research it, then we can’t pick up their stuff ups, and thirdly, perhaps with all the medical stuff if they get something wrong such as a treatment that they trying to get across and it is wrong , could possibly cause legal issues??

  9. Ridge will have the plug pulled only to ship Eric to a rehabilitation center and have him resurface a couple years later. He'll make friends with Victor Newman while at the rehabilitation center. LoL πŸ˜‚

  11. I was in this position years ago when my father had an aneurysm and they told me he would be a vegetable if he lived. My mother, brother and me made the decision to remove life support, and I totally agree with Ridge on this. It is very selfish of Donna to want to go against Eric’s wishes.

    ReplyDelete

    1. What I did not like at all was when she whispered to Eric that she will fight for him since he cannot fight for himself, knowing full well that Eric did not want that. I get that she doesn't want to lose him but she needs to respect what he wanted as well.

      Delete
    2. I agree Roseam!! I don’t think anyone should go against anyone’s wishes.. and no one would want to end up a vegetable.. it’s no quality of life being trapped in a body that you can’t move, while people have to bathe you etc.. that would be cruel to do to someone because you don’t want to let them go.. and Donna more than anyone knows what Eric’s wishes were..

  12. Ridge is doing what his dad wanted from him people you didn't hear it he was the man of honor he wants to go easy and natural Ridge already has all doesn't need to get rid of his father his not that man you all have seen what he had done for him so stop accusing the devoted son
