ReplyDeleteSaw some foreshadowing today when Eric was talking to Thomas and Hope about RJ getting his place because children sometimes need to move out on their own. Are we going to see Hope move out of the cabin?

DeleteI agree Elle. I saw Hope's face when Eric said children need to move out on their own. That made her think. You could also see Zende saying to himself, yeah if your a Forrester you could afford it.

The way he put it too 🤣🤣🤣 Zende can absolutely afford a nice place, he just loves living the life at the mansion like Hope does at her mothers.. Zende has the nerve to tell RJ to be a real man?? At least RJ took the initiative and got his own place!!

DeleteWhen he just joined the show, he was definitely at Eric's because I remember when Zoe went over for dinner and to see if sparks would fly with them. I believe he also invited Paris over to dinner at the mansion as well.

Milla, I liked when Hope put Thomas off for the 10th time. And he proceeds to tell her it’s OK, and for her to take all the time she needs. And she asks him….are you really OK with that? I mean how many times does the woman need to say she needs more time before it sinks in???

A wedding? I hope it's Eric and Donna. They should have been married by now. I feel like she went through so much with his illness, she deserves a dream wedding.

It's almost like when your kid is like "can we go to the park now?," and you're like "later," and they wait 10 seconds and say "How about now? It's 'later' than before." I also kind of admire Thomas's confidence, saying "When you say 'Yes,'" instead of "If you say 'Yes.'" 😀

DeleteRen, I was thinking about your comment about why some of us hate Thomas so much. And I know Milla answered you and said a lot of our frustration is actually with Hope. And that’s true. But I wanted to point out that Thomas has ALWAYS been in love with Hope. And yet, he hurt HER deeply time and time again with his behavior. It would be different if Thomas was a problem child who had found his way into trouble in the past, but his shady past had nothing to do with Hope. But many of his horrible deeds were directed squarely at Hope. So since he’s always loved her and was able to hurt her then, I have zero confidence that he wouldn’t hurt her again if the stars don’t align for him. As we’ve said….he seems great when everything is going according to plan, but what’s he gonna do when things don’t go the way Thomas thinks they should go? He’s like a little child who gets into trouble when he doesn’t get his way. And I think that trait is hardwired in him.
Milla, I was laughing at your comment about RJ’s shirt because I noticed when he put that picture of himself and Luna on the mantel, he was literally wearing the same shirt as in the picture. To me it looks like a pimp shirt. Lol. And yes, it definitely needs to go!
DeleteBut Lynn, do you remember last summer, after Beth's birthday party, when Hope decided to break things off with Thomas before her last-ditch attempt to make things work with Liam? Thomas handled it in a very mature way. He let her go, even though he hated it, because he knew it was what she needed to do. He didn't get all psycho and obsessed. He didn't beg her to stay. He just wanted her to do what she needed to do to be happy. He even went to see Liam and asked him to take Hope back. To me, that is a very strong statement that he was putting Hope's happiness above his own. He was very unselfish. That's a sign that he has, in fact, changed, because the old Thomas would never have done that.

DeleteSo yes, we actually have already seen what happens with the new Thomas when he doesn't get his way. We saw it during that break-up when he behaved in a rational and unselfish way. But everybody seems to forget about that. That kind of thing is why I say that the Thomas-bashing is way over the top. If you look at his actions, especially more recently, he actually *is* a much more nuanced character than he gets credit for.

DeleteThat was way before. The break-up was in July, I believe. Like, right after they first got together.
DeleteOh I know what you are talking about. After the kiss happened in Rome and she told Thomas she had to try to save her marriage. True, that was way after the CPS call. OK I’ll give you that. But it wasn’t long until Hope told Thomas her marriage was in fact over….so he didn’t have too much time to melt down. Maybe if months would have passed instead of just days, Thomas would have returned to his sinister ways.

DeleteSee that's what I mean: even when I point out a time when Thomas behaved decently, there's always some reason why it's not good enough or it doesn't actually count as evidence of him changing his ways or at least being a nuanced/morally grey character. At this point, I almost want Hope to dump Thomas, so that he will respond by . . . being sad and doing nothing. Imagine if we got a full week of Thomas just being like a normal person when they get dumped. Moping around the house in sweatpants and crying into his Ben and Jerry's ice cream. It would be extremely boring TV, but I think it would be totally worth it if it could finally convince the naysayers that he's changed.

DeleteSo let me ask you this…..you’ve also seen Brooke change A LOT over the last years! What’s your opinion of Brooke? Are you a fan??? I doubt it. So that’s my point.
And really just that one incident that you are pointing to does not establish a trend with Thomas.
Brooke also has a history of being a morally grey character. She is not always good, and she's not always bad. I'm definitely not a fan. I find her mannerisms annoying. But I'm not trying to convince you (or anyone else) to "like" Thomas. I'm trying to get you to admit that he is not consistently evil. If anybody tried to tell me that Brooke is consistently "good," or consistently "bad," I would argue with them about it either way, because neither view is supported by her history.
DeleteHere's some more good stuff that Thomas did: When he found out that Vinny had set Liam up to take the fall for his "murder" (which was actually a suicide), and that Vinny had switched the paternity test results for baby Hayes, he didn't even hesitate. He was ready to go to the authorities right away, to get Liam out of prison, and to tell everybody that Liam was NOT the real father of Hayes. Even though Thomas would have stood a much better chance of getting together with Hope if he continued to let everyone believe that Liam was the father, and if he let Liam remain in jail. Unfortunately that action was delayed by Justin going crazy and locking Thomas in a cage, because he wanted to to take over Spencer Publications. And remember before that happened, when Liam was in prison, him asking Thomas to look after Hope and the kids? Even Liam could see that there was good in Thomas, or he never would have said that.

That’s her flesh and blood.
I think Thomas has made great strides. But I’m still convinced the axe will fall before they get married.
I don’t “hate” Thomas nearly as much as I used to. I just don’t like him for Hope.
I'm also not trying to get you to believe that Thomas is good for Hope, or that they make a good couple or anything. I'm just trying to get you to admit that he is morally grey. That his history does not show him always being the bad guy. That's it.

DeleteRen Chen Thomas has been showing alot of improvement, even if it's subtle, I give him credit for that. I love the Thope chemistry even though it disturbs some. He is pushing a little too hard with Hope, she's not ready yet. There's alot going on to deal with for her. Lynn, yes there is a change with Brooke's behaviour, maybe its age but she is still annoying. We need some drama back because everything right now is becoming really boring. Not sure about a wedding between Eric and Donna. Some of her looks today seemed she was dwelling on the thought of Eric being around for awhile. Maybe it's just me. Luna? she might become pregnant now but a big twist in the story would be if Ridge is her father. Maybe he was at the same music festival that weekend when he was in between women in his life and also had a "magical" night with her.

And Thomas ah I'll wait and see. I can see his frustration tbh because Hope is dangling that hope in front of him knowing full well what he wants to hear. I don't blame him for getting impatient. He's the one who says "we love each other", "when you say yes" and all those unsupported statements in his desperate attempt to influence her and alas. It's uncomfortable to watch and I just wish some development for his and for our sake.

Milla, well she did say "I adore you," which is *almost* an "I love you." But I know, not the same thing. I'm now going to revise my original prediction: instead of Hope saying Yes next week, I think she will say Yes *and* finally say "I love you" on Valentine's Day.

DeleteIt said Thomas was going to step up his game and give Hope the proposal she deserves. And Xander was going to make an appearance soon and shake things up for Hope and Thomas. It also mentioned something about Thomas going back to his old ways before too long.
Ren I don't think next week will be the day for either a Yes or an I love you. The focus will be on Eric and Donna's wedding and I don't see them piggybacking Thope on that romance of all. But stranger things have happened so who knows.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers for the week of February 5-9, 2024, promise a week full of surprises. Hope will be in the spotlight again as Thomas tries hard to prove he’s trustworthy. But it won’t be easy because Brooke, Steffy, and Finn will team up against it. Plus, as Valentine’s Day inches closer, Thomas will want to make it a super romantic night, possibly with a fancier proposal.
But watch out, Xander will be in the background, planning to create chaos in the “Thope” relationship. Meanwhile, Luna will be on a mission to find her real dad. Curious to know what’s coming up next? Keep reading!
Lynn I hope this guys is right, that sounds more exciting than what the official ones promise.
DeleteThe thing is, I don't know what else Xander could possibly do at this point. Hope already knows all the information that he knows about Emma's death. There is nothing else to be re revealed there. And even if there is something else from Thomas's past that they bring up, I don't think it will make a difference to Hope. She might be thrown for a bit, like she was with the Emma reveal, but she will be able to move past it. Why? Because she genuinely believes that Thomas has changed, and he's a totally different person now. The only thing that would make a difference to Hope is if there was something that Thomas has done *recently,* like since he reformed. And the show has not given us any evidence of anything along those lines. They would have to do a retcon of some kind, in order for that to happen.

DeleteOh yeah, I read that one. The author makes some good points, and this actually supports my position that Thomas is morally grey. He's on his best behavior, but there are still subtle indicators that he *might* revert back to being a baddie. However until Thomas actually does something to clearly indicate that he's backsliding, I'm going to assume that the writers are, on the whole, committed to showing his reformation. I'm not saying he's going to be a good guy *forever.* I'm saying for the foreseeable future, he's on the straight and narrow. If he does revert back, I think it will be a matter of *years* before that happens.

D, I could be wrong of course. But my feeling is that Hope and Thomas are a long-term couple. Sure they might split up and then reconcile a few times, but I think they're in it for the long haul. She's not just going to all of a sudden be like "Hey wait a minute here. You kept my daughter from me and you're a bad guy, so I shouldn't be in a relationship with you." (What Brooke would call "come to her senses," though I don't see it that way.) They've already been together since June of last year, with one brief split. It may not make any sense to some folks, but they're a legit couple.

Ladies, I think regardless of wether you love or hate the Thope story line, the “actors” MA and AK have really strong chemistry… always have, in comparison to with other actors and actresses each of them have been with.. It’s funny, the way they look at each other sometimes and the passion they put across the screen, it sometimes makes you wonder!! MA got married to long time girlfriend not that long ago, but if I were her, I would not be able to watch him with AK, without wondering?? And I am NOT a jealous person in the least!! But the point is they make the passion look so real you have to wonder sometimes.. I never saw that between Hope and Liam or Thomas and anyone else!!
DeleteColly I guess it depends what you see as chemistry and how important it is in each case. Yes they do have it but it doesn't do much for me tbh. Matthew himself is so adorable and I like seeing him anyway (both as dimples Thomas and as evil Thomas 🤩). I am not looking for what they have in what Hope and Liam have and missing it. Because to me this kind of "forbidden love" chemistry is not so interesting when I can't forget what makes it "forbidden". Hope and Liam have established a long-lasting connection that feels warm and welcoming. They also always have such a cool banter and dialogue in general. So I can't compare the two because the tropes are different - Liam is not "forbidden" love. And PS I haven't seen this Thomas be really intimate with anyone apart from Hope anyway, I believe if he wants to convey Thomas likes her, Matthew can make chemistry with pretty much anyone.
DeleteI feel like MA and AN have excellent chemistry together. I also enjoy the scenes where AN and SC are arguing, because they play really well off each other. I think AN and SC are actually a lot more fun to watch when they are arguing then they ever were as a couple!

DeleteEven if Hope is addicted to whatever it is Thomas brings out in her, she still has a heart and I don't believe she will purposely hurt him. The fact that she is still with him makes me feel that she is falling for him. Maybe she is holding out to see if Thomas will revert to his old ways, just to make sure that being with him is the right place to be.
I was watching all this weeks episodes now. I'm at rehab and don't have an own room. I enjoy, like being at hotel. I can now walk 300 meters 👍 Better than autumn. Then it was 150 meters. Why isn't Zende talking to Eric that he feels mistreated! Or to his mom! Thomas could wait few months until he proposes again. He's pushing Hope. I like them together but Thomas should be passionate. Hope shouldn't feel pressured. I can't wait Eric's proposal at his party ♥️ Maybe everyone is there and Donna is so happy surprised
