DeleteOf course the writers will spin it like he's done that, throw some vague lingo a la "Eric's mystery soap illness" in the mix and it will be "wow Carter, you such a leader". I can't stand Carter these days. Liked him better when he was just agreeing with everyone. I can't believe I'm saying it but I hope Steffy bites his head off (not that it will help, thus sl is probably going somewhere).

DeleteI applaud Carter for wanting Forrester to evolve and start doing bigger and better things. It is not a bad idea. His approach though, is what I have an issue with. There are many family companies who prefer to remain family companies. They have their place in the market and are successful, like Forrester Creations. Carter needs to remember that he is not family and while he has ideas, they may not be welcomed, not because they are not good ideas, but because it might not be the vision of the members of the family for their own company. As such, Carter cannot fly off the handle and go around bad-mouthing family members just because they don't want to take his ideas into consideration. He told Hope that he has run his ideas by Ridge in the past and Ridge also shut them down. That should tell him something.
ReplyDeleteIvy has been back one day and already displaying old behaviours. According to her, she had been in town a while when Carter found her yet, she never visited her Uncle Eric. Now, that she wants something, she decides to visit. What a snake!

Elle I totally agree! He wants to take a family firm that has beaches in Paris and Milan and make it into a publicly owned conglomerate! That means they could throw all the Forrester family out, sell it off or whatever!

Both of you make really good points. It's a family business and to make it into a publicly owned conglomerate corporation takes alot of time, skill, resources and money plus a lot more share holders. They might want to keep it more intimate and just family. This seems to be Carters dream, guess he feels like he's family the way he said to Hope "I feel like they're holding 'us' back."
DeleteMaybe Carter is thinking about the long-term benefits of his plan. Spend (borrow) money now, to make lots more money later. Steffy's face was saying "forget it, not gonna happen". Ridge's face was saying "interesting, tell me more". Some people would say Carter is a visionary; thinking outside the box. I just hate that he's letting his romantic interest in Hope cloud his judgment as COO. How long do you wait for the HFTF numbers to turn around?
ReplyDeleteHere's an idea for the writers: Carter's ideas and plans sound great, but he's told it's too much of a risk right now. Maybe they'll consider it later. Carter feels so unappreciated that he resigns and starts his own company. Many Forrester people join him. Hope can get away from what she sees as Steffy's personal vendetta against her. Zende gets a chance to be lead designer. Thomas comes back to design for Forrester in LA. Now the show has some interesting corporate rivalry. Does anyone remember how fun it was to watch Forrester vs. Spectra? The show needs some kind of storyline soon. Just thinking out loud. 🤔

Forever, Ridge's face to me, he was laughing to himself, are you for real?? Steffy is confused because this is not the Carter they once knew, and is seeing him as a threat. He definitely has a plan, and one I think he has been working on for awhile.

DeleteCarter has really gotten out of line here and all just to get into Hopes knickers. This is a family company, they would have to go public and risk losing control of their business to outsiders. Seems like holding onto HFTF is a losing deal that needs to be let go, and just keep the idea of the jewelry line for couture line. He may just have set up Hope’s line to be cut and totally defeated his purpose of saving it. It should be get rid of something not making money and start a new venture by bringing in something new.
