Sock it to 'em Finn! Steffy has assaulted Sheila twice recently. How can Finn not wonder what really happened. Steffy killed her, maybe who knows if she had to. The small amount of blood and the whisking Sheila away and no cop staying to investigate. All very unusual.

DeleteWow, Finn has done a complete180. He's showing no empathy for (supposedly) the woman he loves more than anything or anyone in the world, would protect her and take a bullet for her. Guess he inherited Some of Sheila's traits. Even that evil glare. Still something is not right with this whole Sheila thing. Steffy would have blood on her hands.
Deletethis is NOT the charater finn was molded to be. the fact that he wasn't holding steffi and asking her if SHE were ok was not real. it makes it look like he's more upset that sheila died than finding steffi on the floor. the hand in the blood? oh please, that was a little over the top. the writers have sucked lately.

DeleteSo he wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for her is what it comes down to for him. He is grateful to her for living. He wouldn’t have his life without her (not his accomplishments or how he is as a person etc); just the fact that he is a living birthed person as simple as that.
So is is sad that no one understands that yes he is upset she is dead and his wife is the one that did that.
He is allowed to be upset about that for a minute it’s a hell of a shock.
Just a damn shock that your wife is capable of stabbing someone at all would probably make anyone’s head spin.

Hope did a 180 with Thomas. And now Finn is doing a 180 with Steffy. You can’t count on any continuity on this show. That’s what I’ve come to know.
I am fine with Sheila being dead, and I actually don’t even fault Steffy for killing her. But I have to point out that tricky Thomas’ version of the events are inaccurate. He is always slippery in my opinion. He said to Hope and Brooke that Sheila “attacked” Steffy, so Steffy stabbed her. That’s not what happened. Sheila broke in - true. Sheila lunged toward Steffy - true. But Sheila actually hadn’t laid a hand on Steffy when Steffy stabbed her. An attack means someone assaulted you, but Sheila hadn’t touched Steffy at that point. Still, Steffy won’t be charged in a court of law.

DeleteLynn I have to disagree with you on Thomas's version, or he is being tricky, slippery and inaccurate. He is explaining it exactly how he heard it from Steffy. She cut the power, creeped up from behind and made the first move towards Steffy, given her past I would take that as an attack too. You know I'm a Thope fan but now I'm not a fan of Finn, the way he's treating Steffy. So I'm hoping Hope see's he isn't as loyal as he says he is. And no, there is no continuity on this soap

I see finn as a man who saves lives and doesn't believe in any terms of taking it.
He saved Sheila after she shot them both.
I see a man who knew the danger of his birth Mother and what she was capable of doing. He is in shock that his wife could take a life. His birth Mother's of all people.
It's taking a life. Yes he keeps saying my Mother. but she was and no matter what she gave him life.
He told Steffy he would never want anything to happen to her and the kids.
He is looking at the woman who took someone's life regardless of who's life it was. A life.
He sees nothing but blood on his hands and Steffys.
He even blaming himself too
If he was there earlier nothing would happened and steffy will not be taking a life
Lynn, that's a fair point. Many (most?) of the plots on this show are ludicrous. The reason a Finn and Hope pairing seems *more* ridiculous to me is that they would be splitting up not just one, but two, couples to make it happen. And also, I just don't see any chemistry between Finn and Hope. Whereas there IS chemistry between Finn and Steffy, AND between Hope and Thomas. So to split up two interesting couples in order to make one boring couple . . . It makes no logical sense.
DeleteAnd I agree that Sheila even approaching Steffy in her home would and *should* be construed as threatening, given her history, even if she didn't actually touch Steffy. Thomas's version of events is not "tricky" or inaccurate.
DeleteI only heard Steffy describe the incident with Sheila as “Sheila lunged toward me.” I didn’t hear Steffy use the word Thomas used….which was “attack.” I don’t think I’m splitting hairs here because if the police question Steffy about the exact events and she were to use the word “attack” in her description of the events, the police would wonder why Steffy didn’t have so much as a scratch on her. And that’s because in this particular incident, there was no “attack”. Sheila never actually laid a hand on Steffy. I have said before that in the event of a home invasion, you are permitted by law to shoot the person if you feel threatened. Or in this case (stab) the intruder. But Steffy was not “attacked” by Shiela. I take Thomas’ description as a paraphrase of what Steffy actually told him. Sheila needed killing. I’m not questioning that. I’m just sick of Thomas always portraying himself / his family as the victims. It’s ALWAYS everyone else’s fault. And that’s the main reason I can’t stand Thomas.

I think something will happen between Hope and Finn. Probably not a long term thing, just enough to completely destroy Hope’s and Thomas’ relationship. And just enough to make Steffy see RED! Lol.
Mmysh, you said it on Ridge. He’s such an ass so much of the time. He thinks his family is the only one that ever matters. He is extremely selfish and always has been. And yes, Finn is for sure all about saving lives…..not ending them. Even when the threat is very real.
DeleteSorry Lynn, but I think "splitting hairs" is exactly what you're doing. Like you said, Thomas was paraphrasing what Steffy told him. The only context where the exact difference between "lunge at" and "attack" would be relevant would be in a police interview or a trial. Thomas is not a police officer or a lawyer, he's a concerned brother. He doesn't need to "portray" Steffy as a victim, because she *was* Sheila's victim in the past, and had reason to think she would be again. In my mind this is a pretty clear-cut case of self-defense.
DeleteAnd you're right about the limitations of working with a small cast. It seems like everybody gets paired up with everybody else, even when it makes no sense in terms of character development. And all the families are clan-ish, aren't they? It's not just the Foresters who think their family is the most important.

DeleteIf Sheila “lunged” at Steffy, when Steffy told her to leave and keep away from her, then she is attacking her, but Steffy stabbed her before she could hurt her.. I view that as an attack.. With all the history, and shooting Steffy in the past, and outside saying tonight you die, I don’t think Sheila with gloves, hooded up , picking locks, etc was there to have a chat.. It’s not like Steffy snuck up behind an unknowing Sheila and just stabbed her in the back.. Ridge was right, she was there to hurt Steffy, regardless of wether she got a chance to touch her, despite trying to.. if it were me, I would absolutely have done the same thing and I think anyone would have, and lunging at her was not to give her a big hug, was it?
DeleteSorry ladies, I disagree. I can lunge at someone without attacking them. And in a killing situation - every minute detail absolutely matters. Maybe that’s why Finn is so upset. In his mind Steffy didn’t need to kill Sheila. He probably feels that stabbing her in the heart was unwarranted given the circumstances. Steffy wasn’t being held at gunpoint or knife point. It would have turned into a scuffle, just like we saw when Steffy went to Deacon’s to confront Sheila. Steffy punched Sheila in the face. Now that is what an “attack” is. Was Sheila in the wrong for breaking in and approaching Steffy in a threatening manner - absolutely 100%. But Steffy wasn’t attacked at the beach house. And my guess is that is what Finn is thinking and why he’s gonna turn to Hope for comfort and a little nookey nookey. It’s all about perception when it comes to matters of the heart.
DeleteIf it were me, and I didn’t see a weapon in the other person’s hand….I would stab to wound, but not kill. I don’t think I could kill someone unless I really thought it was them or me. Steffy didn’t see a weapon. And if she’s as badass as she likes to think she is, then she could have fought Sheila or stabbed her in the arm to wound her without killing her. I will say it again….Sheila needed killing. But Steffy didn’t need to kill her in that moment.
DeleteI think if I was Steffy, and had been through what she's been through at Sheila's hands, I would just assume she was breaking into my house to kill me, and I would assume she had a weapon, even if I couldn't see it. In that moment, under those circumstances, is a person really going to think through "stab to wound" vs. "stab to kill"? Or are they just going to start stabbing anywhere because they're afraid for their life??? I'm pretty sure I would just react in the moment, and stab like crazy.
DeleteMmysh exactly well explained. Finn definitely loves Steffy and the kids and wants to protect them. Does not feel Shiela is his mom because Li is and always will be. Shiela is someone he feels a special place for because she gave him something no one else did - birth. So he again as I wrote is grateful for that.
DeleteAs well he honors life above anything; even against his mom Li when she refused to help with the case when Shiela presented as the patient. Only Finn helped and Li tried to convince Finn to stop. He said it was basically unethical not to save lives, not in him to take them. So it killed him the other day to hear what Steffy said about Shiela and would prefer she not be alive and then today.
Can’t see the marriage being on solid ground now.
Ren, I’m not arguing the fact that Sheila posed a very real threat. I’m just saying that stabbing someone in the heart is done with intent to kill. And it could have turned out differently if Steffy would have stabbed her in the arm. I am betting that’s the way Finn is going to see it….that Steffy didn’t need to end Sheila’s life. And the fact that Steffy had recently said that she wanted Sheila dead is going to replay many times in Finn’s head.
DeleteI suppose so, Lynn, but I do think that's a very illogical way for Finn to view the situation. He needs to have more compassion for his wife and the terror she was feeling. I can only hope that once a little time has passed, he'll be able to see things more rationally. Before I basically liked Finn, just found him a bit boring. But if he continues on this path, he'll be right down there with Liam as my two least-favorite characters.

Your hope is my fear, ha ha! Thope is the only reason I have left to watch this show. There is literally nothing else that makes it with watching, IMO. This week I only watched Monday and part of today's episode. If Thope splits up, I'm out.

What an interesting discussion! I'm still processing the whole incident in my mind and having a hard time believing that real Sheila wouldn't exchange words with Steffy and wouldn't have some final thoughts/memories/words. But that's my mind.
DeleteAs for Steffy and Finn... Like you all said she did the right thing. Ridge was an ass, he just can't control what comes out of his mouth sometimes and has the empathy level of a scorpion. No matter his feelings towards Sheila and the situation, how about give the man 5 minutes to process, to hurt, to grieve and shut your own mouth. You can save your Forresteristic bullshit for a later point. Steffy was safe and that should be important to Ridge, not teaching Finn how to process his own pain. And like Mmysh pointed out - how about remembering what Finn did for Eric and give him for that reason alone extra 5 minutes to just be and feel.
Btw a little romance between Hope and Finn will be interesting to watch 😀 Finn has shown that he thinks extremely highly of Hope and that she deserves better than Thomas. So crossing the line into feelings won't be hard, especially now that his love for Steffy is put to the test.

I hate to say it, but I think all the Thomas haters are right 😭. NOT about Thomas being the irredeemable scum of the earth, but about Thope splitting up to make room for Hope and Finn. 😭 If so, I'm gonna just read the spoilers/recaps on soap Central. Not gonna be here for the gloating, that's for sure!

Yet another reason I don't want to see Finn and Hope together is we all know it will mean a reunion for Steffy and Liam. And I think Steffy deserves better.

ReplyDeleteI know he was no good, if he truly loved Steffy he wouldn't be having a conversation with Hope, he should have left right away. He really wanted Sheila in is life, but he didn't want Liam to have her so that is why he stuck around Steffy in my opinion. Hope was just blabbing to every one how Steffy went to Sheila's house so did Brooke. The cops are going use all that information when it gets around to all the Logan's to lock her up. Don't be surprise if Finn testifies against her.

I was wrong yesterday when I said Steffy would not show Finn some sympathy. She really tried. Finn was very cold and unsupportive to her. He should be trying to comfort his wife, not putting his hand in Sheila's blood. And I lost count of how many times he said "you killed my mother". Then when she tried to comfort him, he pulled away. Like he can't stand to be around her. Yesterday I said I wanted them to work things out, but today it's hard to see that happening. Finn will always think of Steffy as the person who killed his mother. And Steffy will always remember how he didn't comfort or console her after this traumatic incident. I said I didn't want to see Steffy and Liam together, but you know he is going to get over there as soon as he hears what happened. Liam will definitely give Steffy the support and sympathy that Finn is not giving her. I just don't get Finn's level of sympathy and sadness. I don't remember Sheila putting her hand in his blood after she shot him and left him for dead. I'm team Steffy and Liam now.

DeleteI feel better today, now the pain is smaller and I can walk again 👍 That terrible pain comes and goes. I survived once again. Must tell the doctor that I should get better medicines. I got prednisolon and it helped!

I feel sorry for Finn because it really seems that he is in sorrow. But he haven't known Sheila so long so that can't take long with him. I can't stand that soon is Liam there to support Steffy because Finn obviously can't do it. He has Hope who understands him, the only one. Then Thomas feels jealous. What could happen now.. could Steffy and Finn survive?
Steffy hitting Aly with the tire iron, pushing Ivy to the electrical outlet & stabbing Sheila is self defense for Steffy.

These writers really need to go.. The ending, that was rediculous.. I can understand him being upset to an extent, but this?? He barely knew or had any contact with Sheila.. He just finished telling Hope how patient Steffy has been and never gave up on him despite the terror and being shot by Sheila and left for dead, and now this?? Not realistic at all.. He acting like he would as if it were Steffy dead.. Steffy has just gone through this horrific thing and she is the one trying to comfort Finn?? Come on writers, give us a break!! It’s so obvious where this is leading to!!

But no way he would be this sentimental about a woman who he told to stay completely out of their lives on multiple occasions. I think this is the best the writers could come up with to put a huge crack in Finn’s and Steffy’s marriage.

She’s the one who needs his support. Doesn’t he realize that Sheila gave him away and didn’t do anything to raise him? She tried to kill him and wouldn’t let Steffy call for help and then tried to kill her too. Then she drugged him and kept him from going to his wife. Is he going to be as crazy as Sheila, and take her place as the new resident Psycho!!

ReplyDeleteOn a side note: B&B has just been given a one year contract renewal for 2024-2025. Y&R was given a renewal contract for 4 years. Just thinking maybe Bell could employee a group of writer's with a little nore creativity. Too much repetition and ridiculous plots.

ReplyDelete3-4-2024 - I was so put out with this Sheila storyline that I have not watched it since November 2023 or so when she was hooking up with Deacon and Liam was going after Steffy. All of it was making me totally sick. I am sure this character is not dead but I hope so.
