The storyline is about Hope falling for Thomas. Just because noone wants to admit that's what's happening doesn't make it dumb. Plus, we still have the CPS reveal which would play into Thomas and Hope's relationship.
Also, it's not just Hope's fault. Brooke and Liam's distrust of Thomas played a huge part in her getting closer and closer to Thomas. Imagine having to deal with her mother and husband constantly telling her about bad Thomas every night when she comes home and treating her like she's incapable of making sound judgments. That's got to become tiresome. Is it any wonder she started spending nights at Eric's? They welcomed her with open arms.

The only, two times Liam has gone to visit Douglas, was to take him away.. Thomas has never said Liam is not welcome to go see Douglas.. He chooses not to, instead, sitting with his MIL to bitch all day about Thomas.. Douglas has been gone a while now, and Liam has seen him once, to tell him, it’s time to come home, and guilt trip him.. If Liam trusted in Hope, and said hey, I want to come with you because I miss Douglas too, and I want to see what you see, instead of harping on the same crap everytime they talk, then this wouldn’t be happening.. Hope feels as though Liam and her mother think she can’t think for herself and needs to be told what to do, and they wonder why she is shutting them down now.. Milla, at the rate Hope's going, I'm starting to believe that when the CPS reveal happens, she will be fully in Thomas' corner. She has already stated that Ridge leaving her mother is a good thing which leaves open the possibility of her father reuniting with her mom. Also, the fact that she knows that her mother has been relentless in her attacks against Thomas, Hope might feel that Brooke brought it on herself.

I don't know, Milla. So far, Thomas has been fighting his feelings and so has Hope. If she finally decides to give in, it will certainly cancel out anything evil Thomas might have had planned simply because Hope would have come to him willingly. That is a big IF Elle. If Hope wasn't married it would be more likely, but while she's with Liam, she won't just run into Thomas arms. And in this show nothing just flows like that, there's always a drama, manipulations, and Thomas is master of dramatic, exciting moments. Not such a big 'if.' We are already seeing Thomas fighting his feelings and we are seeing Hope wanting to spend more time with Thomas and standing up against Liam. This has been going on for weeks. Even Brooke is now starting to realize that Hope may be falling for Thomas. If Hope gives in and sleeps with Thomas, it won't be a surprise.
Besides, they already have the CPS secret as upcoming Thomas/Hope angst. I can't imagine what other evil plot Thomas might have in store since Hope is coming to him willingly. He doesn't have to resort to manipulations or deceit this time around. I think another evil plot by Thomas is just wishful thinking by LFs to justify that Thomas has returned to the dark side.
It's not wishful thinking but seeing him clearly and especially how this soap operates - there needs to be drama and thrill. Just because he's shown "fighting" his impulses doesn't mean he's got it under control. If it were that easy, he would have stopped by now but it gets even more with every passing episode. Even if Hope shows some weakness for him it won't be jumping in bed with him while married. But Thomas will do something bad, there's no doubt, spoilers hint it and it's just common sense. Who else will supply the thrill? But I don't know why you're fighting the possibility so much, exactly this edge and danger is what makes him a valuable character. If he's all goody, he'd be another Finn and the show doesn't need more.
He doesn't have to be goody, but he doesn't have to be crazy and psychotic either. The CPS call is a perfect example. He was attacked by Brooke and he retaliated. It's that kind of naughtiness that gives him a delicious edge.

Not true, Elle. I remember Hope peering through the hospital door window on multiple occasions and being upset that he was spending so much time with Steffy. Remember Liam also spent the night at Steffy’s when she got home from the hospital because Steffy turned on the waterworks. And Liam fell asleep at Steffy’s and didn’t even call Hope to tell her he was spending the night. I am sure Brooke was adding her 2 cents because that’s what mothers do. But Hope was definitely not happy with the situation about how close they were becoming. I think she was trying to save face and perhaps played it down a bit. But she definitely did not like it. And yes, Hope was also very concerned that Liam was keeping the lie alive. I remember Hope had that same sad look on her face when she was in the room with Steffy and Liam when Steffy was convinced Liam was her husband. Hope just didn’t know what to do. @Hilary, my own opinion of Hope has not always been of a good one, but I do give her credit for the way she has been lately.. I am not too proud to give credit where it’s due.. Hope has been very mature, and is truly looking out for Douglas’s best interests, before her own agenda.. It’s clear that she wants what Douglas wants, and is nurturing that in this situation.. And I think that speaks volumes for the mother she is at this point in time.. I like this side this side of Hope, therefore credit where it’s due...
I have not seen any huge amount of hate for Hope. We have always been sort of neutral toward her and we have also stated, on several occasions, that Annika Noelle's Hope is a lot more tolerable. We've complimented her clothes when the wardrobe dept finally got their act together and we've also applauded her maturity since this new actress took over the role. And I'm sure most on here know that I've been a fan of her and Thomas for some time now, even prior to this current storyline so our support of Hope is not sudden.
What's sudden is the hate for Hope and poor Douglas. All we've heard is how mature Hope is compared to Steffy and how she's not a skank like Steffy and that she and Brooke respect each other. Lynn, I know exactly the comment you are referring to regarding Hope being furious with Liam. When Liam brought Douglas to FC and he told Thomas and Hope that he brought up Douglas returning to the cabin with him, there was indeed a reaction from Hope however, she would not have had it out with Liam right there and then in front of Thomas and Douglas, so she kept things respectful. She may or may not at some point confront him about it but we know for sure she was not pleased based on her reaction.

At 4:50, Douglas says to Hope and Thomas "he (Liam) wants me to leave great-granddad's." Hope looks at Liam and there was no smile on her face. They then gave a close up of her face and again, she looked at Liam with no smile on her face, that's for sure. This is what you referred to in terms of Liam going behind Hope's back and she being furious about it. And this is what I referred to when I said that she indeed had a reaction but did not act on it due to Thomas and Douglas being there. The scene you are talking about above with Hope being torn is something totally different.
Elle, regardless of what specific face expression you are referring to during that brief exchange - it makes no difference. Not once during any of it was Hope furious!! Your comment about assuming Hope would be furious came before Liam took Douglas to see Hope. You assumed when she found out what Liam had done she would be furious with him. I'm from Trinidad. We're a twin island state (Trinidad and Tobago). We are all the way down to the end of the chain of Caribbean islands and just above Venezuela. With all that had been happening with Venezuela over the last number of years where Trump had placed sanctions on the country, we have had a lot of Venezuelans illegally cross our borders. To mitigate the language barrier, I've decided to learn Spanish in my free time. Pretty soon, I'll be bilingual. Haha.

I believe little Douglas is being manipulative in this regard, he's a smart kid, he knows if he pushes hard enough his 'mom' and dad would probably find a way to actually be civil and 'mom' would somewhat like/love dad, (which is sloooowly happening as we see it) Douglas is deliberately pushing his 'parents' together and sidelining Liam altogether.
Lutfiyya, I agree, I think he really wants them together.. He always has.. Even way back in the past, he stated it numerous times.. But he is a kid, of course that’s what he wants.. All kids want that.. And yes, they can be manipulative about it.. All kids are master manipulators when they want something so badly.. But i don’t think it makes him a bad kid, just a really hopeful one.. He has been through alot at a young age, especially losing his biological mum so young.. And even though he was so young, it still affects kids greatly.. I think Hope needs to have a talk with him and explain some things to him.. And if Liam wants Hope to listen to him, he has to change the way he communicates with her, because at the moment, his constant attacks on Thomas and not hearing the rest of what she is saying about Douglas and Thomas bonding, is causing issues for them.. I see him not trusting her and her shutting him out because it’s the same conversation , changes straight to Thomas and not trusting her.. He also could have gone to see Douglas many many times, but chose to hang out complaining to his MIL.. Maybe if he had seen Douglas instead of bitching with Brooke everyday, Douglas might see , that Liam loves him, and see that why his parents can’t be together.. it would have helped Douglas I think, to view Liam differently, or maybe not??

Also, if Liam had said to Hope, hey, I am coming with you cause I also miss Douglas and I want to see how he is going over there, then it would solidify to Douglas that Hope and Liam are united and the family unit as a whole includes Liam regardless of wether he lives with his dad or mum with Liam.. Atm, Liam has only gone to see Douglas once, and the fact he has only seen him once in all that time, doesn’t show Douglas that he misses him, if anything it would confuse Douglas, into thinking that, mum and Beth are here, but Liam isn’t and therefore, his illusions of his family are changing.. He is spending time with everyone but Liam.. And I put that soley on Liam, because no one has said to him he can’t go see Douglas whenever he wants, or go stay there with Hope and Beth too.. Although, I must say, I don’t think Hope should be staying there without Liam.. If she wants to stay there the night, then Liam should definately be there too, because, again, that is confusing for Douglas once again.. Liam should be supporting Hope, support Douglas in this situation, but he has chosen not to.. instead, he spends a copious amount of time with Brooke, bitching about Thomas.. Regardless of the cps thing, when this all started, all Thomas wanted , was to build a closer relationship with his son and be much more present in his life, and had not given anyone, reason to think he hadn’t changed.. And Liam had no issue with Thomas prior to this.. He does not know about the cps call, which has only JUST happened.. So Liam has and didn’t not have any reason to think Thomas hasn’t changed.. He has purely based this on his past behaviour from years ago, and allowing Brooke to get into his head, and allowing his jealousy about the time Hope is spending with Thomas.. So he is driving Hope away, by coercing with Brooke to go against Thomas.. Thats on Liam..

Liam took Douglas to see Thomas and Hope just so he can have an excuse to blame Thomas. Notice he told Brooke about the chat he had with Douglas prior to going to FC but he left out the fact that Douglas rejected his request to return to the cabin with him. He only told her what happened when he and Douglas got to FC.

Thomas has never said Liam is not welcome to go see Douglas.. He chooses not to, instead, sitting with his MIL to bitch all day about Thomas.. Douglas has been gone a while now, and Liam has seen him once, to tell him, it’s time to come home, and guilt trip him.. If Liam trusted in Hope, and said hey, I want to come with you because I miss Douglas too, and I want to see what you see, instead of harping on the same crap everytime they talk, then this wouldn’t be happening.. Hope feels as though Liam and her mother think she can’t think for herself and needs to be told what to do, and they wonder why she is shutting them down now.. I don't know, Milla. So far, Thomas has been fighting his feelings and so has Hope. If she finally decides to give in, it will certainly cancel out anything evil Thomas might have had planned simply because Hope would have come to him willingly. It's not wishful thinking but seeing him clearly and especially how this soap operates - there needs to be drama and thrill. Just because he's shown "fighting" his impulses doesn't mean he's got it under control. If it were that easy, he would have stopped by now but it gets even more with every passing episode. Even if Hope shows some weakness for him it won't be jumping in bed with him while married. But Thomas will do something bad, there's no doubt, spoilers hint it and it's just common sense. Who else will supply the thrill?

Remember Liam also spent the night at Steffy’s when she got home from the hospital because Steffy turned on the waterworks. We have always been sort of neutral toward her and we have also stated, on several occasions, that Annika Noelle's Hope is a lot more tolerable. When Liam brought Douglas to FC and he told Thomas and Hope that he brought up Douglas returning to the cabin with him, there was indeed a reaction from Hope however, she would not have had it out with Liam right there and then in front of Thomas and Douglas, so she kept things respectful. She may or may not at some point confront him about it but we know for sure she was not pleased based on her reaction.

They then gave a close up of her face and again, she looked at Liam with no smile on her face, that's for sure. And this is what I referred to when I said that she indeed had a reaction but did not act on it due to Thomas and Douglas being there. Part of my heritage is Brazilian and Irish, on my fathers side, and my mother was born in and is Maltese!! My husband also has Spanish on his side, although I am not sure where? And on his mothers side is also, British.. He is also a “direct” descendant to the very famous Horatio Nelson.. And there is no doubt there because he has his nose 🤣🤣🤣 my eldest daughter is about to have one of those ancestry DNA tests done, so it will be very interesting to see what comes up.. We had a friend who did one, to prove she was European, and it came back that she is part aboriginal 🤣🤣🤣

My defense of her has always been to counter the over-the-top attacks that you launch at her daily!!! That is 95% of why I defend her! Now Colly, let’s address my comment that you brought up - when I recently called you a “liar”. I didn’t think it would take too much brain activity for you to figure out I called you that because MONTHS AGO you called me that!! You totally attacked my character and I never lied!!! I believe little Douglas is being manipulative in this regard, he's a smart kid, he knows if he pushes hard enough his 'mom' and dad would probably find a way to actually be civil and 'mom' would somewhat like/love dad, (which is sloooowly happening as we see it) Douglas is deliberately pushing his 'parents' together and sidelining Liam altogether.
ReplyDeleteLutfiyya, I agree, I think he really wants them together.. He always has.. Even way back in the past, he stated it numerous times.. But he is a kid, of course that’s what he wants.. All kids want that.. And yes, they can be manipulative about it.. All kids are master manipulators when they want something so badly.. But i don’t think it makes him a bad kid, just a really hopeful one.. He has been through alot at a young age, especially losing his biological mum so young.. And even though he was so young, it still affects kids greatly.. I think Hope needs to have a talk with him and explain some things to him.. And if Liam wants Hope to listen to him, he has to change the way he communicates with her, because at the moment, his constant attacks on Thomas and not hearing the rest of what she is saying about Douglas and Thomas bonding, is causing issues for them.. I see him not trusting her and her shutting him out because it’s the same conversation , changes straight to Thomas and not trusting her.. He also could have gone to see Douglas many many times, but chose to hang out complaining to his MIL.. Maybe if he had seen Douglas instead of bitching with Brooke everyday, Douglas might see , that Liam loves him, and see that why his parents can’t be together.. it would have helped Douglas I think, to view Liam differently, or maybe not??

DeleteAlso, if Liam had said to Hope, hey, I am coming with you cause I also miss Douglas and I want to see how he is going over there, then it would solidify to Douglas that Hope and Liam are united and the family unit as a whole includes Liam regardless of wether he lives with his dad or mum with Liam.. Atm, Liam has only gone to see Douglas once, and the fact he has only seen him once in all that time, doesn’t show Douglas that he misses him, if anything it would confuse Douglas, into thinking that, mum and Beth are here, but Liam isn’t and therefore, his illusions of his family are changing.. He is spending time with everyone but Liam.. And I put that soley on Liam, because no one has said to him he can’t go see Douglas whenever he wants, or go stay there with Hope and Beth too.. Although, I must say, I don’t think Hope should be staying there without Liam.. If she wants to stay there the night, then Liam should definately be there too, because, again, that is confusing for Douglas once again.. Liam should be supporting Hope, support Douglas in this situation, but he has chosen not to.. instead, he spends a copious amount of time with Brooke, bitching about Thomas.. Regardless of the cps thing, when this all started, all Thomas wanted , was to build a closer relationship with his son and be much more present in his life, and had not given anyone, reason to think he hadn’t changed.. And Liam had no issue with Thomas prior to this.. He does not know about the cps call, which has only JUST happened.. So Liam has and didn’t not have any reason to think Thomas hasn’t changed.. He has purely based this on his past behaviour from years ago, and allowing Brooke to get into his head, and allowing his jealousy about the time Hope is spending with Thomas.. So he is driving Hope away, by coercing with Brooke to go against Thomas.. Thats on Liam..

Notice he told Brooke about the chat he had with Douglas prior to going to FC but he left out the fact that Douglas rejected his request to return to the cabin with him. He only told her what happened when he and Douglas got to FC.
