Steffy is a huge reason they got the company back, her bringing in Daphane helped get into Carters head... so they probably felt like the owe her and she is write in saying that they made a decision without her input, so she agreed to some and they agreed to some. It's called a compromise. And like it or not, Hope would've NEVER given them their company back, so i do think she too deserves a bit of punishment and humbling like she did to them.
DeleteI agree that Steffy’s plan definitely helped Carter see what he did was wrong. But that doesn’t change the fact that Eric and Ridge went back on their word. They all should have talked with Steffy first before committing to retaining HFTF. As I said in another comment, Hope and Carter would still be in charge if Ridge hadn’t made that false promise to Carter. The LLC papers would still be intact with Carter at the helm.

DeleteSteffy did explain about the deal which was made without her input and about their discussion regarding Brooke and Hope. As CEOs, with Eric at their side, they need to all be in agreement, and this is what was agreed. Steffy was also correct when she said that the deal was verbal and therefore, subject to change.
I mean, is Hope that arrogant to actually think that she deserved to stay on at FC after everything? She needs to get off her high horse if she wants things to change.
Elle, I don’t know how many different ways I can say it. Eric’s and Ridge’s word mean nothing! And Steffy doesn’t get override rights. She is Co-CEO. She is not above Ridge. Ridge should have held his ground. But he doesn’t because he’s a total coward.

I keep thinking while watching this though, why the hell would Hope or Carter even want to keep working at Forester? I wouldn't want to be somewhere that no one wanted me or trusted me. If anyone spoke to me the way steffi spoke to them, I'd say "go to hell bitch, I'm outta here! " I know Brooke just wants to be up ridge's ass, but why would hope want to stay? She's crazy, and she's really going to lose her shit when Carter doesn't exit stage left with her. I do think hope is a delusional selfish woman, but Steffi is definitely a bully bitch. And I do agree that Eric and ridge should reign her in when she's mouthing off about the Logans. After all, she has always been quite slutty herself, and you know what they say about people in glass houses. Justin proved to be useless for Ridge and Eric. So the Forrester men were simply hoping Carter would “do the right thing.” Carter “did the right thing” with one stipulation. And that agreement was broken by Ridge and Eric.

DeleteIt was stated in this episode that HFTF is now profitable. So from a financial perspective there is no reason to cut it.
This Hope / Steffy thing devolved to the point of no return when Steffy unjustly accused Hope of trying to seduce Finn in the office whe she fell on him in lingerie. Once Steffy found out the truth, she should have apologized to Hope for firing her unjustly and brought her back. And Steffy also should have apologized for the humiliation she put Hope through when she was walked out of the building. But of course nothing even remotely close to that happened.
Steffy is only happy when she is making Hope miserable. And that’s because Steffy is petty, vindictive and jealous.
By the way, HFTF isn’t doing great, Hope is delusional. Even Brooke told her it needed to start getting batter numbers because it’s business

All the years of Hope insinuating herself in Steffy's marriage to Liam just because she felt entitled to Liam. Then, going after Thomas despite Steffy's many warnings. Then, going after Finn. And finally, manipulating Carter into stealing the company. Hope IS the cause of everything that is happening now.

Lying to steal someone else's company and lying to get back their own company are far different by ethical standards, Lynn. The former is considered unethical and illegal. The latter is considered doing what it takes to get back what is rightfully theirs.

In order to get back the jewelry, the owner makes a deal to give the thief $100 in return for the jewelry but when the thief hands it over, the owner only gives him $10. Well I am not sure how and why hope carter and brooke were expecting that hope will be kept in the company. Out of them three, hope was the one gloating over this take over. Can we remember how she was speaking to Steffy? Hope might complain about steffy but she is no better, this take over only showed me that if hope had the power, she would a bully even worse than steffy. And putting carter on the spot that way is a sure way to prove that she loves him. In essence she is saying " Carter, if i leave, you leave too". How selfish can that be. She wants to leverage him again as a way to maintain the upper hand in this situation.

The way she even spoke to Eric Ridge and the audacity of talking so carelessly about Stephany in front of her late husband and children. This woman has no respect for the forrester family, which is very okay and agreeable. But wanting to eat from a hand you hate is crazy. I would have actually loved for carter to be suspended as well. Yes he is being manipulated by hope but he is a grown man and this is already the second betrayal from him. After Liam literally saved Steffy's life, she became attracted to him and pursued him. That's true. But it was the ONLY time that Steffy ever pursued Liam while he was with Hope. The ONLY time.

Once Liam started spending time with Steffy and got to know her, he genuinely fell for her, and that was proven in Aspen when he decided to rip up the divorce papers EVEN THOUGH he knew Hope wanted him to divorce Steffy so that they (Liam and Hope) could be married since she, the pure as snow ex-virgin, was already living with him.
All of that happened at the very beginning of the complicated relationship with the 3 of them. After that, Liam was the one that kept going back to Steffy.

Steffy still treating Brooke like garbage. I don’t want to comment her behaviour towards Hope but with Brooke is different story. She told Ridge about the coup, she spoke to Carter trying to persuade him to give the Company back just like Daphne. I don’t agree to treat her the same as Hope. Brooke didn’t fully support Hope and Carter she just did one thing wrong accepting the CEO position but even that she did trying to be closer to Carter and she was under pressure beacause of the press waiting downstairs. Brooke is not the same as decades before. She matured and change. Proof in the prewiev. But Steffy still hates her and it has nothing to do with the comapny. It’s private beacause Steffy still can’t accept her parents getting divorce and Ridge choosing Brooke over her mom.

I'm not sure if I would want to work with or for Steffy if the way she was today is what it will be like every day. I agree that Hope and Carter need to be held accountable, but if they felt like it was a hostile work environment before, what will it be like now. If I were Brooke I would not want to stay there and have to deal with Steffy, and you know Taylor will be coming by even more, now that she's with Ridge.

Steffy actually was fairly gracious towards Brooke and admitted she could see her contributions to the company. That Brooke should remain in some capacity.
If I were them I wouldn’t let Carter come back either. He stabbed them in the back. How can they ever trust him again?
Steffy did it only for her father. She made it perfectly clear that if it was her decision Brooke would be fired. I will never agree to put Brooke in the same category as Hope and Carter the traitors. Brooke’s mainly fault is that she is too soft with her adult daughter. She was never ok with the coup she just couldn’t say some harsh words to her daughter. Blind motherly love. But it will also probably change according to the prewiev. But Carter gave the company back partly thanks to Brooke’s speach to him. And of course Steffy doesn’t care and it’s always personal for her. Like she was against relaunching the Brooke’s bedroom line and when the bedroom line succeded Steffy was not 100% happy. Hope and Carter on the other hand should not be accepted, I agree, escpecially Carter. But I have mixed feelings because of that deal that Ridge made with him. But obviously Steffy can keep Carter and give him the position with acces to important company documents but she wanted to fire Brooke if her father hadn’t stop her.

Then Ridge responds with…..No, sorry, Hope and her line have to go. But, we, as the male chauvinist men that we are, will agree to let you stay on at FC, Carter even though you are just as guilty as Hope in all this.
Then at that point Carter would have known the stakes, and he could have made a well informed decision about whether or not he would agree to tear up the LLC papers.
Then it would have been an honest transaction. But that’s not what happened. And everyone is perfectly fine with the bait and switch. So I’ll say again….I admitted many, many times that what Carter and Hope did was wrong in stealing the company. And I have been supporting Brooke in trying to get the company back to its rightful owners. But the Forrester fans can’t find it in themselves to say that what Ridge did in this bait and switch to Carter was wrong. And that’s where I take issue. Bottom line, two wrongs don’t make a right !!

Whether or not he should keep the company he stole if the rightful owners did not reinstate HFTF? You say that what Carter did was wrong but you would be quite okay with him keeping a company that was not his just because the owners made a decision about their own company that Carter did not like?
Secondly, I agree that 2 wrongs don't make a right however, the onus is not on Eric or Ridge to do right by Carter. Carter stole the company. Carter had a guilty conscience. Carter should not have even brought up anything about HFTF. He should have just given the company back if he was so guilt-ridden. Plus, just as you said it was an unspoken understanding that Hope would stay on at the company once Eric and Ridge agreed to keep HFTF, do you really think that Carter didn't know that Steffy would not have approved and that's why he decided to make the deal right then and there without Steffy's input?
Yes, Elle….an informed decision. There was no gun being held to Carter’s head. He could have just as easily told them to go pound sand. He (Carter) was holding the cards whether you like it or not. Carter came around and did the right thing because Ridge gave him his word. And I absolutely think Carter trusted him. And he told Hope that very thing. And no one addressed my comment about why Hope was fired in the first place. She was fired for something she didn’t do. And Steffy should have apologized and rehired her and then they wouldn’t have gotten to the takeover situation in the first place.

If they had refused his demands, Carter would have kept the company. It therefore begs the question whether Carter was truly remorseful or simply spiteful, which makes Eric's, Ridge's and Steffy's decision to cut HFTF and fire Hope all the more acceptable to me.

ReplyDeleteLynn, it was not Carter's place to steal a company just because he found that people were being treated unfairly. Principle? Since when does principle dictate that one must go against the law and against their own personal values? If Carter was so upset and disgruntled, he should have done what most people would do and find another job. That would be the most principled thing to do.
ReplyDeleteAs for Steffy, I have already been very vocal about Steffy's firing of Hope the first time. In my opinion, Hope deserved to be fired this time around. I totally agree with Steffy on that. She didn't have to stoop to the personal insults about Hope or the Logans but, I don't think firing Hope was wrong. I actually expected it to happen. I felt that Carter should have also been fired. It's what he deserved. And I really hope that he joins Hope in leaving FC. He is not needed. What happens if he proposes another idea that the owners of the company don't agree with? Is he going to steal the company again?
Don't worry Lynn. Carter's punishment is coming. One way or another, it will come.

She wanted Ridge out of Forrester too! Even Eric! Hope believes that she who never did anything to earn it, should be in charge of an international company because???? DeleteSince Steffy is 7 months pregnant in real life, they are wondering if they should incorporate the baby story into the show, with Finn or someone else being the father. It would be a juicy story, because they are mentioning Liam since he hasn't had a part in awhile.
