ReplyDeleteYes, Brooke is heartbroken. Hope wants to be sure all the blame is on Ridge as if Hope's actions did not contribute to the situation. Please. Hope is acting selfish.
DeleteBut bottom line Hope is right. Brooke is holding on to this destiny thing whereas Ridge doesn't deserve it. He's too weak and unable to deal with problems like a grown-up. Always with his ultimatums and running to daddy's place or Steffy's place when something happens. What kind of man does that? And running to Taylor without realizing that he's only using her when he has problems with Brooke.
DeleteIn Ridge's mind, there is no way that there is a good reason for Brooke to take the CEO position. So, he shuts down communication. You would think after the CPS debacle, he would have learned to talk it out with Brooke. But, no. He is dense. Nonetheless, Brooke loves him & is not going give up on Ridge. She should explain, because that will change everything. Hope just wants to be sure that she is not blamed as Ridge will blame her.

DeleteHope clearly is so blinded that she does not see all the havoc her decisions she's made are affecting the people around her, she's happy while others are hurting. She's all about the Logans, but this is hurting them too. Not to absolve Ridge regarding Taylor, but Hope knew that offering her mom her mans job would create problems (she just didn't care) or the fact that she went along with the firing of Electra (her aunts sons gf, now that wouldn't create problems)... or Donna (stealing her husbands Company). Hope is SELFISH. Plain and simple.
DeleteI was waiting for Brooke to tell Hope that Hope and Carter are the cause of the breakup with Ridge. Can’t believe that Hope is so cruel and selfish and keeps on blaming Ridge. Such an insensitive child that you raised. She justifies everything with blaming others, always.
DeleteIt's what Brooke taught Hope her entire life growing up. It was always someone else's fault, never Hope's. Hope was never taught to be accountable for her actions, that's why she blamed Liam for his waffling when their marriage ended even though, she was the one who cheated.

I was happy to see Steffy show concern for her mom today. I was especially happy that she reminded her dad of her mom's broken heart and to make sure he didn't break it.
DeleteRidge never said that Taylor was his safety net. He said that he knows that his family is his safety net and the place where he knows someone loves him. He also said that his relationship with Taylor is stronger than it has ever been.
Elle, relisten to what Ridge said to Steffy…..he said his ‘Forrester family’ has always been a safety net for him. Then he told Steffy…..”That’s it…..that’s what your mom has always been to me.” He literally called her his safety net. It’s at the end of his talk with Steffy at Eric’s.
DeleteTaylor is WAAAAAY too fragile right now being in any kind of romantic situation with Ridge. When Ridge tells Taylor they don’t have a future together as a couple, that will break her heart all over again. Didn’t you see Taylor looking up at Ridge with those puppy dog / love struck eyes when they were on his bed kissing?? I sure did. It’s too late…..the damage is done. Taylor is going to be shattered again!
Lynn yes and also the awkward/apologetic look on his face while he was saying to Steffy what he's doing every time with Taylor, his safety nett. He knows he'll never go to her in calm times, because of her, because he wants to be with her and doesn't want Brooke. He'll only go to her in turbulent times, then the crisis passes or misunderstanding is resolved and he's back with the one he truly wants. And Taylor is longing for him already. Steffy should very clearly encourage him to set boundaries. She can be happy they get along but she cannot go again with the "my mom and dad belong together". It's been 40 years girl!

DeleteLynn, I rewatched and it's true, Ridge did say that but it seemed to me that he meant it in a positive way. I mean, if someone says that they always feel safe when they're with someone, all it tells me is that they don't get that sense of safety anywhere else.
DeleteIn this particular scenario, Ridge is saying that he doesn't feel safe with Brooke but he always does with Taylor and his family. It further suggests (and I could be wrong) that even when Ridge finds out that Brooke had a plan in taking up the CEO position, he might weigh the odds of feeling betrayed by or unsafe with Brooke as something that can happen again and, he might choose to end things with her for good.
Brooke is not giving up despite Hope suggesting to her that Ridge might not be her destiny after all. I'm not surprised though, she has literally chased Ridge for most of her adult life. That alone should be an indication to her about how Ridge feels if she is always the one chasing him and he is always the one walking away.
Maybe there was some foreshadowing when Brooke told Hope about her and Ridge being committed to each other. Ridge might love Brooke but, is he really fully committed to her?
Milla, I disagree about Ridge going to Taylor only in turbulent times with him and Brooke. We've seen time and time again that, even in good times, there has always been a pull toward Taylor from Ridge whenever she comes to town.
DeleteThis time, it was her BHS. Even though Taylor told him she didn't need his help, that she already got her diagnosis from the doctor, Ridge still sprung into action by setting up the natural healing with Chondra, knowing it was going to be very personal and intimate. Why did he do that? He and Brooke were fine. No turbulence.
He is also constantly touching her, holding her, spending time with her every time she's in town. To me, it speaks volumes that a man is always so excited to be around his ex-wife even when he's already in a relationship with someone else.
Could it be that he is afraid of leaving Brooke who is always around, to be with Taylor who is always in and out? Or maybe, it's just that he doesn't want to take Taylor away from her work with helping others, which he knows she loves and is passionate about. Maybe that's why he is holding back. 🤷🏻♀️
Elle when I say go to Taylor, I don't mean normal human interactions between exs and parents. I mean actually going to be with her, choose her and leave the altar with her as his wife. He's not afraid to be with her. If he was committed to her, there's no way she'd leave and all of them know that. He can be excited and supportive and caring. But he doesn't want a life with her. What good does it do Taylor for him to do all this only to dump her eventually? If anything, it makes it even worse. Getting her hopes up and then shattering them. Taylor is and always has been written as the obstacle. There's no holding back. Even when he's with her, he's shown thinking of Brooke. I've never once seen him think of her while with Brooke.

DeleteElle, I don’t think Brooke “chases Ridge”. That implies that only one person is interested in being in the relationship. Ridge is in love with Brooke and is more than happy to be in a relationship or married to Brooke. As we have all said 100 times, Ridge is a flip flop waffler man who finds it way too easy to fall back into Taylor’s arms whenever there is trouble with Brooke.

As some posters have said….myself included….the only slut on this show is Ridge!! I honestly wish Brooke didn’t want a future with him. But sadly she does, so the Logan fans just have to accept it. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that Ridge’s heart belongs to Brooke.
He loves Taylor because of that safe familiarity he has with her and who she represents. But no matter how you slice it, being a “safety net” to someone does not say I’m in love with that person. It just doesn’t.
You know as well as I do, this little short lived thing with Taylor won’t last. Brooke and Ridge will be back together in no time.
Unknown, the show didn’t tell they would be apart for a year. It just told us that they will be together next Christmas….which I agree with.

Yes, we've actually seen Ridge love Brooke but, I think we also have to look at Ridge's pull toward Taylor. There is a definite pattern, not just in how he acts toward her but also what he says.
DeleteWhere I disagree is where M said that he doesn't want a life with Taylor. So why did he run up and down a mountain, made a huge proclamation of love, and propose to her? Ridge definitely wants a life with Taylor if he can have it.
Also Lynn, Ridge feeling safe with Taylor might not mean he's in love with her but, it also doesn't mean that he's not not in love with her. As I said, there's a definite pattern.

DeleteElle, Ridge "wants a life" with her for 5 minutes. What kind of *life* is that? Wanting a life would require at least marrying her once now. But it's always a reaction out of hurt. A safety net is where you end up in a crisis. And definitely not where you stay to live. Running after her on a hill after arguing with Brooke once is not demonstrative. Coming home to her day in and day out, for at least a year, is. If he ever goes to her with serious intentions, without a crisis with Brooke and goes through with them, we can talk about wanting a life. But considering he's like a 100 now, I don't expect him to change.

DeleteElle, I think Ridge LOVES that these women continue to fight over him….even though he is clearly not a catch these days. So he does things / says things to Taylor to egg her on. Even at the risk of her mental health. That’s how much of a narcissist he is. What a selfish douchebag! But I believe he wants to be with Brooke. No matter how we slice it, it’s true that the only time he turns to Taylor for romance is when Brooke disappoints him, or he THINKS Brooke has disappointed him. That doesn’t seem like the actions of a man who truly wants to spend the rest of his life with Taylor. But it’s a whole different story for Taylor….she does want to spend her life with him. And that’s why this whole thing is so sad. Taylor will end up with broken heart syndrome all over again. Ridge is a selfish moron and an ego maniac.
DeleteThis is what I think the writer's could hv wrote in the script for Brook ...when Carter asked her to be CEO ...Brook could've said to Carter " I need a bit to think about this Carter!" ...and then she could have left to call Ridge to explain her plan's to try and get the company back to him! But ...oh no ...the writer's decide to have Brook take the job as CEO immediately! In return ...play out the scenario for Ridge to turn to Taylor because of Brooks choices!

DeleteI still don’t understand why Ridge and Eric haven’t taken action yet or haven’t gone to a different lawyer to get another opinion. They need to take action with the courts to get their company back. Ridge and Steffy just keep discussing the issue and not acting on it. Why are they not talking about it with a lawyer? Quit worrying about bad mouthing Hope and Brooke and start doing something about it. Fight for what is yours!!!

DeleteIt's okay (and understandable) that Ridge thinks of his family as a safety net. But that is not the same as being in love with Taylor. That's more like a life long friend. Someone who supports you, encourages you, always there when you need them. Those things should be there with the person you are in love with. But Ridge should be more aware and considerate when it comes to Taylor because he knows how vulnerable she always is to go back to him. Especially with her recent broken heart syndrome. That night at Eric's house, instead of having drinks and making out with Taylor, he should have told her "I really need some time to sort things out with this whole situation with Brooke and the company". Not only is he not being fair to Taylor, he's not being fair to Steffy and Thomas because they think their parents are getting back together.

I see it like this. Brooke's first instinct is to always run after Ridge while Ridge's first instinct is to run to Taylor. Why isn't he invested in talking things through with Brooke? She came over and he couldn't even give her the courtesy of hearing her out. Who does that with someone they claim to love? And he always does it. The last time, he had divorce papers drawn up. Ridge never seems interested in talking things through. To me, that says something about how Ridge feels but not actually saying.
