DeleteWas that all there was to the HFTF showing and press event? 2 dresses and even less words in Hope's speech? Is that the speech she was so worried about?
They could get some new cad blood in the show. Phil Mickleson is in trouble for showing some lady his junk on his phone, and she didn't react "right." They could ease Phil in as another of Stephanie's bastardo sons that Brooke and Taylor could fight over. He could show/send them pics of his junk and they might be impressed. Get the smothering tentacles off of Ridge for awhile.
DeleteYeah Elle honestly this was a bit anticlimactic - the showing, the speech, started without any into, just Hope there in some gown, then Brooke and then Thomas. The speech was so generic... Beautiful dresses, for sure, but really half-assed show. I can't believe that's what they've been preparing for for so long 😅

DeleteYes agree. I was hoping for a fashion shoot with runways, lots of models showing off all of Hopes visions and designs by Thomas. We saw what? Maybe 3 dresses that looked nothing like the sketches he was showing Hope, and on models. And where did they all go? Guess B&B is really cutting back on the budget. Boring show. Not what I expected, unless there is more to cone.

And I have to say this BUT does his light bulb in his brain ever work, I mean NOW he finally realizes he should have been there to support her, HELLO! Now, I can see why she NOT feeling comfy with Liam anymore and feeling HOT for Thomas now! Also, to offer to go on his Yacht, where Hope married Wyatt that is going to stirr up memories for Hope.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I honestly think Liam was so hyper-focused on his angst about the whole Thomas thing, that he couldn’t let himself believe that being there to support his wife could be his primary goal with the trip. He didn’t want to be “that husband” as he put it, the man who follows his wife on a trip to chaperone her. And he also didn’t think he’d be capable of truly just being excited for Hope because the idea of seeing Hope with Thomas as this ‘power couple’ was just too upsetting for him. I’m not saying he was justified for not wanting to be there to support her, I’m just saying he didn’t know if he could bring himself to be that supportive husband…when he feels so strongly / negatively about Thomas. Again, not saying Liam’s thinking was justified, just saying it wasn’t lack of intelligence that was initially preventing him from wanting to go. It was simply his ego. It took Finn who seemed to put a different spin on things before Liam decided it was the right thing to do.

ReplyDeleteLike Milla pointed out, of course Hope would have no issue with Brooke joining her for the photo shoot! Hope is not a petty person or someone who needs to hog the spotlight!! I thought the mother / daughter photo shoot was perfect and a wonderful idea by Ridge! Bravo!!! They both looked so lovely! And props to Brooke for navigating those spins in her high heels in a dress that flowed down onto the ground! That was no easy trick!
I also loved how Hope got teary eyed because Liam was not there to share in her joy and success. And the fact that she admitted she should have not waited till the last minute to have asked Liam to go was dead on!!! She wanted her love, her husband to be there with her!!
Poor Liam, of course there is no WiFi! 😂😂😂. Typical unbelievable bad luck scenarios that can only happen on soaps!
I gotta say, Paris looked good in today’s episode. Thank you stylists for finally doing something decent with her hair!!

I loved, loved, loved Hope’s speech about being mindful about the environment and how it’s our responsibility to protect Mother Earth for our children and our grandchildren! Amen to that!!!
Yesterday I commented on how it was so ridiculous that Liam didn’t think to ask Bill to use his private jet. That was stupid…and dare I say…really POOR WRITING!!!! But even though Elle will say….”Liam isn’t the brightest tool in the shed” (D and I both say “sharpest tool”), I would completely disagree. Liam is extremely intelligent. He is so quick witted, funny, etc. As I’ve said before, the fact that he trusts Hope so much doesn’t make him stupid. He’s just a man in love with his wife and he trusts her. And it’s very cute how excited he is to see her and surprise her in Rome. None of this “spying on her” stuff is true that was being thrown out over the last couple of weeks by a few viewers. He’s genuinely going to support Hope and to get back on track in their marriage! Good job, Liam!
Steffy is now the giant purse carrying lady in every scene. Lol!! They better work that up-and-coming baby into the script soon, or she will need to start hauling around a suitcase in her scenes!! 😂😂😂😂
Elle, I think the saying is “not the brightest bulb in the chandelier” or “not the sharpest tool in the shed.” Well at least it is in the US. But combining them still gets your point across. 😊. Not being snarky here.

DeleteI really hope the thing with Thomas doesn’t ruin them. He is smart, able to discuss in depth (I don’t know who’s writing his lines but they are among the less annoying ones; now recently he’s also repetitive with Thomas but still somehow finds different ways to say it so that it doesn’t bug me like the Thope complimenting) and now would be a real chance for him to show he’s matured and changed and won’t overreact or do something insane. I would really like that.
And let’s hope the baby won’t be worked into the script as a result of his overreaction 😅🙈

DeleteI don't think Steffy looked snarky but she did look a bit uncomfortable. I wondered if it was the heat or if she was just tired of clumping around Rome in those heels. I agree with BBFan. Steffy is very happy about the success of HFTF. She has no reason to be less than thrilled.
I really do have to give it to Hope. After the way she left things with Liam, if it were me, no way would I be wishing that he was in Rome with me. His lack of trust and wanting to dictate who could go on the trip for HER fashion preview, would be enough for me to think to myself that he needed a time out. I would then proceed to have a jolly good time in the city of love!
Well BBFAN, I can say the exact same thing about all the Liam haters on the blog calling him “stupid.” So the stone throwing story applies here. But regardless, Steffy had a total snark face from where I was sitting.

Yeah, Steffy may have just had that expression because she was preoccupied with her concerns about Hope and Thomas. Or maybe like you said, she was hot or tired from standing in those crazy heels! DeleteWho gets frustrated at not being able to get a flight to go be with his wife, and not once does it occur to him that his father has a private jet? Same as when his wife was stuck in SF with the "predator." The thought never even entered his mind that he could use the jet to go "rescue" her.

Delete@Lynn never heard the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Here I've always heard not the brightest crayon in the box. Either or I still feel Liam is very insensitive of his wife's feelings and has to wait for someone else to point it out to him and tell him what he should do. Ergo the deer in the headlights look all the time. And I'm not a Liam hater until recently the way he's acting with Hope.
D - we all have our different takes on things. But depending on what transpires this week, Liam may be proven right again about Thomas. Hopefully not! And it’s not that I’m against a good dose of karma (since he has cheated on Hope in the past)….it’s simply that I think Hope is better than this and it will make me think less of her if she cheats. It’s just not her style.
DeleteWe will see what does transpire this week, but I still feel Hope is seeing Liam through different eyes now. He has shown he doesn't trust her even though he says he does, is not supportive, controlling, treats her like a child and really thinks of himself more. I wouldn't blame Hope . It might not be her style but people can be pushed to do something they might regret, or not.
Delete@Lynn Liam can’t do right in his opponents‘ eyes, no matter what he does. It won’t be acknowledged that Hope truly loves and wants him there no matter what she does. Everyone sees it through their lens. Liam is not used to going for help to his dad, he’s more used to going to listen to his latest love obsession 😀 it’s not that far-fetched he didn’t run to the Spencer jet directly. He’s never been shown in the rich brat mindset. He grew up modest, worked for a living for a long time before they found each other with Bill. I think he‘s not used to automatically reach for the family influence. That makes him likeable in my eyes.

Sad, because you and I both know she loves her life with Liam!! And she has also sympathized with Liam about his insecurities surrounding Thomas, but at the same time is determined to have Liam accept that “this time” Thomas really has changed!! My hunch is that Thomas has not changed as far as his love for Hope. He very much acts like he still loves Hope. Currently, he’s just not acting on that love. And his “obsessive love” seems to be gone. But Thomas can change on a dime!! So we’ll see! Let’s see if he has to buy Steffy a new house. Lol. That was the bet after all !!!

DeleteLynn, I'm with you where Thomas is concerned. I do not believe that he no longer loves Hope. He has loved her for way too many years for it to just vanish. I think he is just overly cautious that whatever he feels for her is not something sick and obssessive.
DeleteRegarding Liam, other than maybe 1 or 2 persons, I have not seen anyone here say that Hope does not love Liam or wants her family. We are rooting for her and Thomas to be together and believe that she is falling in love with Thomas however, we also acknowledge that she loves Liam and wants her family. The thing is though, Liam's actions are slowly, but surely, pushing her away. It will be interesting to see Liam's reaction to Hope after he sees her and Thomas together.
The dresses were lovely, all three we got to see lol no showstoppers either … I miss the days when models wouldn’t have been modelling loads. I have to say Brooke’s dress was more couture, nothing boho about it.

Why after all these years, is Liam just now realizing that his wife deserves his support in her career??? He’s always been self absorbed but seriously?? Hope deserves better!
I think Hope shouldn’t have had to ask him to come! He should have taken the initiative and said he would be there to support her!
The fact that Hope had to beg him and he wouldn’t budge and kept going on about Thomas hurt Hope deeply. He showed his pride and ego were more important than his own wife.
Honestly, his telling Wyatt before that she could just give HFTF and do something else that didn’t involve Thomas showed how little he understands or respects Hope. Wyatt had to remind him how much Hope’s line means to her!
Wyatt was always more thoughtful and considerate of Hope and more supportive than Liam has ever been. He always acts like it’s a hobby for her. Even Hope pointed that out to him!
Liam is dense as far as I am concerned. He’s too concerned with himself to think of anyone else.
I agree that Stella Maris is a bad idea. Again Liam never thinks that it might have a negative effect on Hope.
Poor Steffy, where did they find such huge handbags for her. Please let the poor thing out of those torturous heels!

Liam never thinks. That's his biggest problem. All the time he spent obssessing about Thomas then taking it home to Hope, leading to arguments, could have been better used to show his wife that he believes in her and supports her. I truly believe that if Liam had chosen to support Hope and focus less on Thomas, whatever Hope felt for him would have eventually faded.

Remember when he married Ivy to "save" her from being deported? When Steffy told him that her last name was Forrester, all he could do was scratch his head and beg Steffy to "give him a chance to fix this." Those were some of, or maybe my favorite scenes of Liam and Steffy. They were very powerful.
Regarding Steffy, the actress may have been a bit uncomfortable having to hold the handbag while standing in the open heat with those heels.

Milla, Steffy had just returned from Paris and she and Liam were working at getting back together however, Ivy, Eric's niece (from his brother) got a call from Immigration that she was going to be deported since her work visa had expired. I can't recall how the wedding idea came about but Liam ended up marrying Ivy to save her from being deported, only to find out afterward that she had dual citizenship since her father was a Forrester (Eric's brother) and American, and her mom was Australian.

DeleteIvy knew her dad had put in all the papers for her US citizenship and was convinced about it but immigration told her that her US citizenship was non-existent so, she got in a panic and brought it up with Liam, while subtly suggesting that she could remain in the US if she got married. And of course, without any questions asked, Liam married her. He didn't even know how long they would have had to stay married for. Anyway, it turned out to be an error on the part of immigration.
