You're correct. Thomas cannot possibly be "in love" with Paris however, I don't think he is trying to make her jealous otherwise it would mean that he is once again enlisting his son in his deceit. Thomas has moved past that. I think he genuinely is trying to move on from the woman that has hurt him time and time again. I don't deny that Thomas and Paris connected in some way, but it's not love.
DeleteAnd yes, AN was absolutely marvellous! As I watched her pour her heart out to Thomas, I couldn't help but think "Finn who?" Glad to hear her acknowledge that no other man has brought out in her what Thomas has.
As for Steffy, her absolute joy at the so-called engagement will be cut short soon enough because no way is Hope going to let her win, or let Thomas go so easily. This is not the same Hope that Steffy could just walk all over.
Elle it remains to be seen. Usually there is more to the story than what they are initially saying. Thomas is not that naive and desperate to just marry anyone believing that will help him forget Hope. And we can't know for sure if he has moved past his decades-long ways. Many of those guys return to bad behaviors like that.
DeleteI think it's more likely that Hope finds consolation around Finn now (esp since she already binded with him and admitted to having real feelings) than to start fighting for Thomas. She truly seems broken by him and his choice. Not the most likely starting point to go on a mission for his heart.

DeleteRegarding Thomas and his decades-long behaviour, don't we have Bill living happily with his newfound family? Wasn't he happily married in the past and had a son from that marriage in spite of his manipulative and murderous past? People can change. Matter of fact, the only character I can honestly say hasn't changed on this show is Sheila. And they are even trying to redeem her, it seems.
Well, for the Hope thing I can’t defend, I never will. I’ve never believed that Hope has any intention to be with him for real. But he did/does love him so at least I can understand the relentless desperate chase for a marriage with her. Going for a marriage with someone he doesn’t love smells like something more to me.
DeleteSomeone being happy with his family doesn’t mean he’ll never be back to his bad behavior. One can be happy and still when that happiness is threatened - return to their old ways. Same with Thomas. On this show they don’t generally change forever.
I do realize that people can return to their old ways when their happiness is threatened but it isn't at all far-fetched that Thomas ran to the first person that would marry him after being rejected by the woman he loves. This happens even in real life. People rush into rebound relationships all the time just to forget about the person that hurt them. I don't understand why it has to be that Thomas is up to something bad or dastardly. The thing is, Thomas chose to walk away from Hope so there really isn't any reason for us to be suspicious of him returning to his old ways if his happiness is threatened. He walked away from the person that gave him the most happiness.

DeleteThomas can have any number of reasons (or none at all, it’s all in the writers heads) to have an agenda. He's a main character who usually has a plan. All I'm saying is that it's highly unlikely that there's absolutely nothing else in that story of him proposing to Paris.
Milla, one thing is for sure….Thomas still desperately loves Hope. I can’t tell if he is trying to convince himself otherwise and is sincere in his plans to marry Paris, or if this is all just another elaborate scheme to make Hope jealous….and so much so that she tells him she is ready for marriage. If it’s the latter, then Thomas definitely has NOT changed. I’ve never been a Paris fan. She is just ehhhhhh….nothing great. But it will be sad if she gets left at the altar again. And very naive of Paris to assume Thomas is over Hope. She is definitely not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

Lynn I just don’t see Hope, so broken and hurt, to now start to chase Thomas, especially considering the feelings for Finn. To the very least, why would they bother setting up something with Finn if she’ll forget it like that (although again writers vs logic…). Plus Steffy doing such a great job in alienating her husband. I'm team "Finn will console Hope".
DeleteAs for Thomas - yes that's exactly what I'm saying. It doesn't necessarily have to be a big or small plot, I just think there's more to the story apart from "I want to finally marry someone" and Paris being that delusional to believe Thomas has forgotten Hope and is now in love with her. (But again we can have lazy writers who leave it at that.)

Love your comment Mandy. Everybody is focusing on how hope is hurting. But she is truly about what she wants and what she wants thomas to be for her. At no point does she mention what she can be for him or even acknowledge his desires and what he needs.

So he moved on too fast for your liking? You don't want to marry him but you would loved him to stick around and continue being all what he is for you without ever asking anything in return??? I mean. Can't be more selfish than that. She says she loves him bla bla but she can't commit to him. And should we remember that a couple of weeks ago she was telling broke that the realized thay liam and Thomas were not really good for her, because she already had eyes on Finn.
A few minutes ago she was singing the name of Finn and how much she can't stop thinking about him, she can move on but Thomas has to keep loving for the rest of his life?
I also believe it was quite quick for Thomas to propose to Paris. Probably coming back as just a couple would have made it all believable. But I am totally against hope selfishness. If she loved as much as she claims, why didn't she go after him instead of fantasizing about Finn? And this is why steffy will always be against her being with Thomas she just want to use him as a feel good tea. I'm not against those, but against the double standard and the selfishness.

DeleteHope should just close that chapter of her life, and move on. And I don't mean go after Finn. Girl, learn how to love yourself. Stop begging Thomas. He chose to leave town. As much as she wants to blame it on Steffy. He left. And took Douglas. That would have been enough for me. As far as the viewers have seen, he hasn't stayed in contact. Now he shows up engaged, after dating Paris for a few months! And he's already allowing Douglas to call Paris "mom"! Talk about twisting the knife. People can say what they want about Hope, but she deserves better. Better than begging and crying for him to take her back! Writers, please give Hope some pride, respect, and dignity. Please show that a woman can survive for a while without a man. Especially one who once kidnapped your baby, or one who is already married to someone else. Hope was always saying that she didn't want to make the same choices and mistakes that Brooke made. Well Hope needs to show her own daughter a better example. Grow up. Be the mature person. Wish Thomas and Paris the best of luck (because everyone knows it won't last). Continue to be a mother to Beth and Douglas (his real mom). And work on saving HFTF. 😑

Delete@Forever36, First: Thomas did not kidnap Hope’s child, Dr Buckingham (Paris’ father) did. Second: Hope is not Douglas’ real mother, only adoptive one. His real mother was Bill’s niece, who died.

I never used the word "kidnap". And I know Hope is not his biological mother, but she is the one he has been calling "mom" for years. I'm sure it would hurt to hear him call Paris mom, especially after dating Thomas for a couple of months. 🤷♂️
