ReplyDeleteIt was sweet how Finn teared up when he and Steffy were hugging. Those tears seemed genuine. And guys usually have a tough time faking emotion on TV.
The words between Steffy and Finn at the end were the words of foreshadowing the forthcoming doom.
Hope has Finn in her scope. She’s gonna get that man!!
I know Brooke's stance with this Finn thing is coming out of concern for her daughter but to dismiss what Hope felt for Thomas by insinuating that Hope probably wanted Thomas back to distract her from Finn was so wrong and disrespectful to Thomas and Hope's relationship. I'm glad Hope told her otherwise. That she truly loves Thomas and what they had was real.
DeleteOn the other hand, if Hope does have an attraction for Finn, Brooke is right. Hope cannot act on it.
I don’t think Brooke has dismissed Hope’s feelings for Thomas at all. I think she has spent way too much telling Ridge just the opposite. She knows Hope is hurting. And Brooke has been very concerned about her daughter’s mental state.
DeleteBut I think Brooke sees beyond Hope’s hurt because of the news of Thomas. She knows that Hope was developing feelings for Finn during the time Thomas was away. And Hope was like……”Thomas who??” during those months. Since Hope knew that thinking about or wishing for a future with Finn was wrong, she defaulted back to wanting Thomas when he returned. But Thomas didn’t come back for Hope, so that meant Hope was still going to be alone. Hope clearly does not like belong alone. But she also can’t imagine a life of “Forever” with Thomas. But I think she can envision a life of “Forever” with Finn. Because in Hope’s eyes, Finn is the perfect man!! Thomas was NEVER the perfect man. He was simply the man who made her feel like the Queen of the World! And that had its own enticing quality.
If Hope thinks that Finn is the perfect man then, sad to say, she will become like Brooke looking at a man who is married to another woman as the perfect man for her. Whatever happened to her not wanting a man whose heart is divided? She'll just be setting herself up for more heartache later on.
DeleteI think Hope has convinced herself that Finn is way too good for Steffy because Steffy doesn’t treat him right or understand him. I think Hope thinks she could treat Finn so much better and that their connection would be better because they do understand each other. And based on that, she thinks that Finn would just forget about / not want to be with Steffy anymore. Clearly Hope hasn’t thought it all the way through. The ramifications that would come from a relationship with Finn would completely blow up the families. But the girl wants what the girl wants. So let’s see if she ever acts on those feelings or just keeps fantasizing about Finn…..
DeleteNow it all comes down to that - will Finn continue to come around Hope and show her kindness (and physical too! the massages!) and tell her how amazing she is to him. Or will he... I don't know... Do all this with his wife whom he just pledged forever to?! He should recognize that his wife would be anything but indifferent if she saw him in those situations with Hope. No matter what his intention is. Intention does not equal impact and that's what many people should understand. His loyalty should include also times when Steffy is not around.

I wonder if Brooke is aware of the term reverse psychology and how trying to push Hope's feelings away from Finn will do the exact opposite? 😁

PS. It was ridiculous when Hope said in this whiny voice "and now I have no future with Thomas waaaa". Woman, all he ever wanted was a future with you!! That was the whole point. He wanted future and you wanted for right now and as long as it feels good. And he even offered again just yesterday that future to you. Ever since this madness with Thomas started Hope is just lost and full of angst, doing and saying whacko things. I hope it ends soon and she returns to a more rational behavior.
DeleteI agree Lynn. That's exactly the way Hope is seeing things with Finn and Steffy, and that's what makes it so wrong! He is married to Steffy and her thoughts should not be so preoccupied with their marriage that she starts to see herself as the better woman for this married man. That's madness. I agree with Milla. Hope is so lost and acting crazy right now.

DeleteI think the point Debbie is making is that both Thomas and Hope are rebounding to others because of their hurt emotions at having split up. It's not about Hope becoming like Brooke. Although, I can see where Brooke is coming from. If Hope goes after Finn, she would be a homewrecker the way Brooke was, and Brooke knows that's not a happy life.

DeleteRebounding with Finn as in Hope is projecting toward a married man in light of her rejection by Thomas. She's hurt and Finn is showing her care and being a friend. That's what she is drawn to. It's the same as Finn telling her that she was drawn to Thomas because he was a one woman man and gave her everything she always wanted in a man. Now, that Thomas is no longer there, it seems Finn is filling that role - at least in Hope's thoughts.
Nah, simply not saying anything negative about Brooke when she’s been so great lately is not recognizing her. She deserves a round of applause!
DeleteHope wouldn't be so quick to fall for Finn if he wasn't so over-the-top wonderful to *her*. (He even yelled at Thomas that as long as he lives Thomas won't have her, which if Hope had heard she'd fallen in love right then and there...). He is not just a great man himself but great to her. Even when she says she doesn't want to bother him (like with Beth or now to talk about Thomas) he still insists to be there for her. Again - intention not equal impact. His intention is to be supportive but the result is that it makes it really hard not to start developing feelings. Plus he's a forbidden fruit to her 😁

For me it's enough that we know that Brooke is doing right by Hope on all fronts. Despite her feelings about the Thope, she was supportive of her daughter and whatever she decides to do with that single man, no matter the horror he's inflicted on her. Despite how great a catch Finn is, she's urging Hope to stay away.

DeleteOn a diff note, I’ll say good things about Thomas if he actually goes through with the wedding to Paris, and is happy and in love in the months to come. But I don’t see that happening. I still think he is reacting to Hope’s rejection with this marriage to Paris and it will crash and burn within no time.
Lynn even if I didn't want it, Thomas is one of my most likable characters right now. I feel for him and admire even his attempt at moving on from Hope (although yes poor Paris will be collateral). I've said a few times that this is leaps and leaps ahead from old Thomas who would be working an angle to get her. It turned out all he had to be is normal and chill and Hope fell for him. But he also has his needs and I'm glad he's not compromising on them just to hold on to whatever amount of love Hope is able to sprinkle on his plate.
DeleteI said a little while back that I was very proud of Brooke and how she’s been handling herself! She’s changed a lot in some ways for the better and I’m glad she’s giving Hope good advice.
DeleteHearing her acknowledge the pain she’d caused and how selfish her behaviour was really speaks to her growth. That was the most honest and self aware I’ve ever heard her. I give her kudos for that.
Brooke has been showing a lot of grace in trying situations lately.

Hope is very confused and all over the place. Her feelings for Finn aren't genuine, just a rebound from Thomas' rejection. Finn is showing Hope attention, which is what she wants. Just like Brooke, Hope cannot be without a man, it seems.

I wonder if Brooke actually thinks that Hope can take Finn away from Steffy? 😅 I don't think she's thought that far ahead. Her main concern is that she is seeing a difference in her daughter's behaviour and does not want her going down the same road that she went down.
DeleteOnly for the feet that will go in some mouths am I looking forward to whatever will happen between Hope and Finn 😅. It has nothing to do with Brooke. It's their bond that is forming. And from then on Steffy (and her fans) will never be able to say she's the one and only for Finn.

ReplyDeleteI doubt they are going to introduce several new characters as matches for the singles on the show. We have Hope, Liam, Zende, Katie (I wouldn't call Hollis a main character, so I am going to leave him out). Hope and Liam are over. Hope and Zende? I don't see that happening. So in order to keep things interesting, they are going to have to break up existing couples.
Finn is so faithful and committed to his family, so it will have to be Steffy who does something to push him towards Hope.
